Johanna Lindsey is my go-to for American Historical Romance and this is another one I’ll read again and again. I think Morgan is my favorite of the bunch – so far.
I am a Lindsey fan. This is another great read.
The second in this series and it was really great. The narrator was good but could have been a little better for this type story. Johanna Lyndsey never disappoints!
I love most of all Lindsey’s books. I believe I have read them all and this one is no exception of being good.
Loved this western!
Joanna Lindsay did it again another for wonderful I highly recommend it if you’re looking for something to make you feel good and smile and laugh
Marry Me by Sundown is an historical Western romance. Violet Mitchell is a fiesty heroine who is abducted by a bearish miner, Morgan Callahan, who thinks she is in cahoots with Shawn Sullivan who is collecting mine claims by means both legal and illegal. Violet is looking for her father who has been missing and finds out that he has died. Her brothers are in dire straits, in danger of losing the family home unless she can find her father’s partner and convince him to continue their partnership. Instead she is kidnapped by him and it takes her days to convince him that she is her father’s daughter. Sparks fly in this romance and there are unexpected twists and turns.
I loved the story. I hope she write sequels for the other characters.
Warning: Adult Sexual Content and Subject Matter
Violet Mitchell has spent several years in Europe in her aunt’s home with her cousins. Just as she is planning her season with her cousin and aunt she receives a message from her brothers to come home right away. The season pushed aside Violet returns to Pennsylvania to find her brothers hiding in their house as they all owe money. The only saving grace is for Violet to pretend she is going to marry the banker that is holding their home and loans. Violet leaves for Montana to find her father where he is mining to find his fortune. This is where I felt the story begin to sag from the interesting beginning. I continued reading hoping the story would pick up but the book continued on just ok. The usual formula of the guy (Morgan Callahan) who will save all, and who of course kidnaps Violet really slugged down the story. I kept waiting for the story to pick up and though there are a few interesting storylines the book never did continue as well as I expected except for of course the happily ever after ending.
I liked it
I love this author
It took me 2 days to read, I absolutely could not put it down and didn’t want it to end. I absolutely love johanna lindsey and never have read a book yet that I haven’t loved.
Always love her books.
I absolutely loved Marry Me by Sundown.
Violet is an American heiress who has been living in England with relatives. She is summoned back to the US by her brothers when her father is missing.
Most of the story takes place in 1880’s Montana during the height of the gold rush. There are outlaws, gunmen, kidnappings, a duel, miners, bandits and a case of mistaken identity!
Morgan is a bear of a man who has left his family’s ranch to find his fortune in a silver mine. He is a rough outspoken mountain man, but Violet is able to find the heart of gold hiding under his gruff exterior.
My very favorite part was the “Marry me by sundown” surprise twist near the end of the story!!
