Opposites attract this holiday season as Roma Frost Hart takes us back to Evergreen Valley in a heart-warming romance filled with Christmas cheer and a romance of convenience between a wedding planner and a Texas tycoon in need of a temporary bride.Cold and calculating Bently Maverick has made bachelorhood into a second career. But when the inheritance of his father’s oil company rests on the … company rests on the sole condition of marriage, he’s forced to find a Christmas bride or watch the company he loves be dismantled. When weeks dwindle down to days to pull off a Christmas miracle, Ben sets his sights on Venus—the most extraordinary woman he’s ever met. Honest, beautiful and with a heart of gold. The more time they spend together the more he warms to the idea of saying I do.
To wedding planner Venus Halliday a Christmas wedding sounds like a dream come true. Especially hers. If she doesn’t land a high-paying client this holiday season she’ll be forced to close her doors on her dream forever. When the dashingly handsome Ben Maverick steps into her shop things start to look up. And the world’s sexiest blue eyes and easy smile had nothing to do with it. Honest. But there’s a catch—as always. She has four weeks to plan the wedding of the century and he wants her to help him find a bride. When her efforts go sideways he proposes a brilliant yet equally awful idea. What if the wedding planner becomes the bride?
White lights, miles of silk, and strategically positioned mistletoe are the perfect ingredients for creating holiday magic. And all the more reason giving into her feelings is a bad idea. Armed with nothing more than her perfect man list to protect her heart against stolen kisses and slow strolls through snow-covered streets, Venus finds it hard to focus on saving her business the closer the big day gets.
Fancy stilettos and cowboy boots don’t always mix. Is it the magic of a not-so-fake white wedding or is this true love?

It’s not bad, but it wasn’t a match for me.
I’m a BIG fan of Hallmark Christmas movies (most of them, anyway) so I thought I’d love this too! But it just wasn’t a match for me. I really thought it would be! But I could tell that it’s well-written, and there’s nothing really WRONG with it. I just never connected. But you might. So by all means, do try the book, it may well be to your liking! Because it is a (I am quoting now) ‘sweet and flirty romance with HART and no explicit scenes or overly harsh language’. Sounds nice, right? And while the story started out great, and it was definitely sweet and cute, by the end of chapter one the author already lost me. I didn’t FEEL it. The story felt like it was ABOUT Venus, it didn’t seem to come FROM her. I wasn’t being let in. So I’m sorry, but it just didn’t reach me. And Bently? I didn’t bond with him either. I did like Venus better than Ben. I also felt the story was too slow, but that could be because I didn’t feel it. It’s not you, it’s me, and I’m sorry! I have to admit, they were kind of cute together, and it did get better once they met. So really, if you like sweet and cute Christmas stories, do give this one a fair try!
In the heat of the moment a life long bachelor loses his heart. Can she rescue his soul before he asks for it back? Marry Me at Christmas puts a little holiday in your heart. Business is the deciding factor for two desperate people. Both want to save their businesses from ruin, so they enter into an agreement. Marriage. Only this conveniently, temporary arrangement is starting to look more like a inconveniently, permanent heartache. Will it be a happy ending or a broken heart for this unexpected love story? Bently and Venus are the sweetest greeting card for this time of year.
Bentley has a lot going on dealing with his fathers passing, running the family business and now he has to try and find a wife or lose the company and everything the family has worked for. Stella his awesome sister steps in and from there we go on an adventure of faking love, planing a wedding, dealing with sworn enemies and not realising what is right in front of you. I can not wait to read more in this series and will be going back to read A Dashing Christmas: A Small Town Firefighter Christmas Romance (Evergreen Valley Book 1)!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Marry Me at Christmas #2 – I absolutely love this series! The storylines are well thought out in each story I’ve read so far. There’s not too much stupidity with the characters, although this time I think Venus is a little too much ditzy – yes, she’s smitten but…. All the characters are likable and realistic, with a maturity about them. Of course, there’s always a bugger or two to mess with the romantic couple. We know there’s always kinks on the way to the happy ending, but the journeys have been so much fun. Always leaves a good mood after reading a Evergreen Valley book. Don’t forget about Willie, my favorite character in all the stories, well Gran is great, too, and she kicks her heels up. Read them in order, or not, this series is worth the time. I contacted the author to review her books and received this one through Booksprout. 4*
Evergreen Valley series:
In Walks Love – I absolutely loved reading this fun “short” story; it went by so quickly. I wasn’t happy with another book I had read, but since I volunteered to review both books, I read it one evening. I’m so glad I did, now I want to read more of the Evergreen Valley series. I enjoyed the storylines, which were so entertaining and kept me immersed in the pages that went too rapidly to the end.
The characters were interesting, likable, mature with a good sense of humor. There was even a visit from a special cookie loving reindeer. A relaxing, fun, no brainer way to spend a couple of hours or less. Twenty-eight percent of this book is two excerpts from A Dashing Christmas and Marry Me at Christmas. I don’t read excerpts or samples of anything. I found this book on Booksprout when I found A Dashing Christmas. 4*
A Dashing Christmas #1- This is my first read by this author. I had a problem with Grace’s character and personality, too much silliness in the first chapter. She’s frightened by someone chopping wood thinking he’s an axe murderer and then she thinks she’s John Wayne, huh? Grace is too much the popular female model that’s overused, complete with its stupidity formula. She doesn’t want a man but keeps placing Dash in all sorts of visions, commenting on his look or body parts; she can’t make up her mind but plays games like he’s the culprit – trouble maker; who said wishy – washy is a desirable personality trait in any sex. She thinks her grandmother is crazy for enjoying life while Grace can’t make a move unless she’s written it down on her list. I never figured why she repeated thought her Gran was crazy.
While Grace took my enjoyment of the story away, it’s her story, there are many good things about Dash and the other characters are at least realistic and full of life. There are good and sad storylines that weave the pace of the story and journeys of everyone. Two characters stand out with their personalities and their matchmaker skills: Gran and Miss Lucille, both interesting and doing their own thing. Of course, there’s a reindeer that knows how to have fun, too. Twelve percent of this book is a preview of the next book in the series, Marry Me at Christmas. I found this book on Booksprout. 3*
