Waiting for one’s fiancé to set a date is never fun. Especially when it has now officially been years. Particularly when one is a veritable wallflower with little chance of anything better coming along. More so when said fiancé’s brother is paying particular attention to one’s life and causing all sorts of confusing emotions. All Miss Augusta Snow wants is for Henry to return home and set the … set the date. If that means trying as hard as she can to break out of her quiet temperament to gain his attention, then she’ll do her best.
But it seems she’s attracted the wrong brother’s attention…
The brooding Miles Stanton, Viscount Ashwick has always been quietly fascinating to her. She knows he was a little less than a gentleman in his past but she cannot help be intrigued now that he is showing interest in her wellbeing.
He only intended to protect his brother’s interests…
Miles always had a soft spot for Gus. However, everyone knew she was meant for his brother and all he wants is for her to be happy—especially with the specters of his past hanging over him and guaranteeing to bring trouble. He has to protect Augusta from doing something silly and somehow persuade Evan to cease being a fool and return home.
All the while ignoring his feelings for her…
Augusta’s plans to show Henry that she is not just some dull wallflower seemed doomed to fail and now Miles is back in her life and behaving…well…strangely. She cannot help but wonder if she has been hanging her hopes on the wrong brother this whole time.

A good read
Mile’s- a dark past and is trying to honor his family
Augusta/Gus- betrothed to Henry, Miles younger brother who went on “a tour ”
I enjoyed reading this intriguing story that is well written with lovable and complex characters. Their story has a decent HEA, but unlike what the title has you believe no marriage but there was a proposal. An epilogue to prove the wedding/HEA would have been welcomed.

I leave more and more of my heart behind with each Samantha Holt story I read. Married to the Lord is no exception. Miles and Augusta blend bittersweet sentiment with heartwarming romance. Augusta is the wallflower bride in waiting wishing for something more. Miles tends to hide in the shadows, yearning for a heart wish that was never meant to be. Caught up in a love triangle neither ever saw coming, will they risk it all to follow their hearts or have the courage to walk away?
I feel like you can’t really got wrong with a Samantha Holt book. And I was happy I requested this one. We have Gus who was engaged byt her fiance takes off and she has to wait for him to come get her or get married, she couldn’t break things off because the ton would have crucified her. When she decides she is going to show him that she is not boring she gets the attention of his brother Miles and lets say he was way better than her fiance Henry.. What to do what to do..Well read and find out, I was rooting for Miles and Gus from the beginning. enjoy!

This was a good read. There were parts that were a little to slow for me but all in all a good read.
Miss Augusta “Gus” Snow & brothers, Miles & Henry Stanton have been friends since they were very young. As a result of his father’s unexpected death, Miles has assumed the title & responsibility of being Viscount Ashwick. Soon after his father died, Henry proposed to Gus & she accepted – then he gave her a peck on the cheek, left to travel & has been gone 2 years with no correspondence. Gus is tired of waiting & plans to start having some fun. Miles finds himself trying to convince her that his brother will return soon & set a wedding date. Gus has always been attracted to Miles but he was older, more sophisticated & would never be interested in someone of lower class. Miles has had feelings for Gus every since he’s saved her from drowning when she was 13 but he knew she loved Henry & their families expected Henry & Gus to marry.
Will Miles’ constant attention to Gus amount to more than concern & will Gus admit that she may be betrothed to the wrong brother? This was a romantic, fun story with some danger & humor thrown in to keep you turning pages.
I highly recommend this clean, romantic & entertaining historical romance.
Sexy, fun, engaging and highly entertaining romantic journey filled with interesting charters, witty banter, uncertainty and passion… was a great reading experience from beginning to end. I really enjoyed this adventure and its strong charters.
MARRIED TO THE LORD is the second book in the Wallflower Brides series. Each will stand on its own, but I highly recommend reading them all and in the order of release.
I loved reading this story. I would say it was a slow down and relax type of story, but I still read it in a day.
I loved the way that Miles was always on hand to rescue Augusta “Gus.” It was sweet, heroic, and perfect. He saw himself as flawed and his past as an irrevocable barrier, but she found her Prince Charming. As I’ve always said, “Who wants a knight in shining armor? They haven’t worked hard enough to earn your trust or your hand. Give me a knight who has dings and dents!”
Two down and one to go – Chloe and Augusta have found their perfect men, but next will be Joanna. I’m looking forward to reading about the man who will claim her heart.

I am a Samantha Holt fan and this one did not disappoint. Anytime I see a book by Samantha Holt I know it will check all the boxes. This book had a great storyline, endearing characters, and a wonderful love story. If you are a regency romance fan, this one is a winner!
The author’s characters come to life and aid in keeping your interest engaged. The plot weaves around the problems they face and how they feel about the people they face day to day. I highly recommend this book and I enjoyed it very much.

I really enjoyed this book!
At first, I was a little impatient with Augusta (Gus) because she did not have much of a backbone and seemed to be too easily cowed by convention and duty. But then I remembered that during that time period young women were not expected to think for themselves and in fact, their first and foremost obligation was to their families and to fulfill their duty to that family.
Miles was a true gentleman of that era, honoring the engagement of his brother Henry to Gus (even though Henry had been adventuring for a number of years with no return date in sight). Even his realization that he wanted to marry Augusta himself was not enough to make Miles betray the code of a gentleman. It was not an easy thing to break an engagement back then!
A necessary backbone is found, a somewhat predictable twist is revealed, the prerequisite villain is thwarted and love prevails!! Happy ever afters abound and all is once again right with Regency England. At least that corner of it anyway!
I always look forward to reading any book written by Samantha Holt because when I have finished it I have a feeling of happiness I carry around with me for the rest of the day!!

The second book in The Wallflower Brides series a well written story with a very good storyline. This is Miss Augusta Snow and Miles Stanton, Viscount Ashwick’s story. Miles has a dangerous past and Augusta is engaged to his brother Henry. I enjoyed reading their story. I hope there is going to be more coming in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Brothers Miles and Henry Stanton and Augusta Snow have been friends since childhood. Shortly after their father died, Henry asked Gus to marry him. She said yes, and he promptly left for parts and reasons unknown. For the two years he has been gone, Gus has waited patiently, but her patience has run out. She wants him to come back and either set a date or call off the engagement. When he finally returns, he behaves mysteriously and pays no more attention to Gus than when he was gone. Where is he spending time and what is he involved in? As it happens she and Miles have become very close in Henry’s absence. The situation is becoming complicated. Is there a way to sort things out so that no one is hurt and everybody has a chance to be happy? Maybe.
This is a charming romance with a bit of mystery and danger, and an interesting cast of characters. Miles is a good guy with a checkered past. Gus is pretty and shy, but becomes more confident as the story unfolds. Henry left England grieving and confused. He still seems to be uncertain when he returns. Gus’s friends Joanna and Chloe were delightful. They offered Gus shoulders to cry on and advice for dealing with Henry and Miles. Their advice? Be brave. This is a sweet and engaging story. I enjoyed and recommend it.
“What was a girl to do? Once one was engaged, they were at the mercy of the man to whome they were engaged. She could not break it off-her parents would be heartbroken and no doubt gossip would circulate to why.”
Would Henry ever come back to claim her and marry? Augusta was bored, frustrated and even a little embarrassed that Henry had been gone for so long. Her friends were getting married and she was could only wonder when it would be her. When her friend Joanna suggested she should show her fiance’ what he was missing, a plan formed.
But then who would show up but Miles, Henry’s brother and he was determined to seek her out.
I loved, loved this story and as always Samantha Holt took me on a jouney of the heart to find that love can be found and maybe not with the original expectation!

A charming read I loved Miles & Gus, they were so right for each other. I thoroughly disliked Henry who didn’t deserve that Gus had waited for him. I loved how Gus gained in confidence throughout the book & finally went after what she wanted. The path to the HEA isn’t smoothbut it does make for an entertaining read.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
All Miss Augusta Snow wants is for Henry to return home and set the date. But it seems she’s attracted the wrong brother’s attention.
The brooding Miles Stanton, Viscount Ashwick has always been quietly fascinating to her.
He only intended to protect his brother’s interests.
Miles always had a soft spot for Gus. However, everyone knew she was meant for his brother and all he wants is for her to be happy all the while ignoring his feelings for her.
Both Miles and Augusta grew up caring a great deal for each other. Miles thought because he had a less than stellar past that he was not worthy of Augusta’s attention. Only his younger brother deserves her. Therefore when his love of the young lady becomes apparent he is determined to squelch it.
This is a bit of a second chances title. I really liked this newest Wallflower Brides title by Samantha Holt.
I gave this book 4.5 of 5.0 stars for story line and character development.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book from the author via Booksprout. This in no way affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
I enjoyed Augusta and Mile’s romance. There is plenty of emotion as the storyline unfolds. I liked both of these characters and I thought it was easy to feel their draw of attraction and sparks of chemistry. I felt that Augusta’s frustration was easy to understand and her plan of action seemed very realistic. I felt for Mile’s. He was a genuine good guy, that just wanted what he thought was best for everyone even if it cost him in the process. The story was entertaining and held my attention well. I found this to be a very fun read.
Enjoyed the story, it is well written and entertaining. The story revolves around Augusta (Gus) and the fact she has waited over two years for Henry to return from his grand tour to set a wedding date. Unexpected love happens and surprises await. There is a degree of danger surrounding the characters but all works out for the best. There is a HEA for all involved. This is a clean romance and I would highly recommend this book as a great read.
Augusta and Miles’ love story is very enjoyable. Augusta is engaged to Miles’ brother Henry, who has been away for 2 years. Gus is getting tired of waiting for Henry, and she started (always) having feelings for Miles. Miles wants what is best for Gus, he thinks Henry is best for her, but he can not help his feelings he has always had for Gus. I fell in love with both of these characters.
I always enjoy a Samantha Holt Book!!!
Book two in the Wallflower Brides series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Told in dual POV with HEA. Augusta Snow is a wallflower in need of getting her fiancé’s attention. Henry left the country two years ago after proposing, and before setting a wedding date. Miles her fiancé’s older brother has noticed Augusta’s impatience and takes an interest in looking out for her. I enjoyed the sweet romance about being brave
