Humans are the most adorable creatures in the galaxy. Everyone says so. Is it such a surprise that a mighty Alliance Imperial Warship would take humans prisoner? Yes, the Alliance doesn’t take prisoners. Once onboard the Alliance ship, the crew of the Dakota are casually informed that human women are now considered to be Alliance citizens. Moreover, all the female crew will be returning to the … all the female crew will be returning to the Alliance homeworld.
This was completely unexpected. What is even more unexpected, Captain Kara Rainer’s infatuation with the alien Admiral who captured her and coerced her into marrying him.
When the chance to escape presents itself, will Kara take it or remain with her alien husband who she has become smitten with despite his insistence on trying to ‘tame’ her into Alliance culture?
This book contains explicit romantic scenes with an alien for mature audiences.

Loved the story. A good paranormal romance.Entertaining fantasy romance at it’s best.Just the right amount of the male/female dominance and submissive relationship dynamic.

Kara may have been beaten but she was not finished!

Kara was captain of the latest human ship to be captured by the Alliance, Admiral Tir had no use fior the men but the women he would take and they would make welcome mates for some of the males of his world desperate for wives, the female Captain he would keep for himself. Kara did not want to be any alien’s forced mate, but with the lives of her crew in the balance she agreed. Their mating may have been forced but she soon came to love her new mate and his erotic lovemaking. This was a wonderful beginning to a new series, Kara may have been beated but she was determined to gain every benefit that could from her alien captor.

Kara definitely has quite the time with her marriage to the admiral. She enjoys their relationship all the while trying to plan her escape. Their journey to a somewhat HEA is filled with intrigue and drama.

Interesting and different
This series has creative world building and plotting and interesting characters. The rules and structure of the Alliance society are very different than the humans are used to which causes many issues and much confusion between the Alliance and human characters. Tir is very poor at explaining things to Kara, and she continually misinterprets what he says, so they have a LOT of issues.
This lays a good foundation for the following books. It is best to read this series in order.
I received this as an ARC and chose to review it.
Captain Kara Rainer’s ship is captured by the Alliance Forces. The crew are all surprised by her marriage to the Admiral Tir of the Alliance. The crew are all sent to the home world but the captain. Now the dance between the human captain and the alien admiral starts. This was a tug of war between two very strong personalities. You often wonder who is going to win the battle between the two. It was an excellent story and I was glad with the way the story ended. Highly recommend this story. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was drawn in by the synopsis and I must say it’s definitely more than I expected. This is the first time I’ve read one of Alma Nilsson’s books and I enjoyed it.

As war raged across the projection screen, Admiral Tir of the Alliance Alpha Warship Refa told Captain Zan to save the humans, keeping in mind the Empire’s current shortage of women. They brought the small human starship Dakota into one of their docking bays and sent guards and a medic to assist.
When Admiral Tir could not find Captain Kara Rainer in the brig, he went to sick bay. She had been hit on the head and was recovering. Tir didn’t like that their captain was unguarded in his sickbay. She had been a menace to the Alliance’s supply ships during this war. Even in direct battle, when she should have kept her inferior little ship in hiding, she showed superior strategical skills and bravery. Who knew what this human captain was capable of unguarded on his ship! He stood over Kara, knowing she was not actually asleep, and began talking. Knowing the Alliance never took prisoners, she was trying to figure what he really wanted from her crew.
When Tir had her brought to him, he told her half the crew would return to Earth after promising not to participate further in the war. The other half were now Alliance Citizens and would be sent to Capital Planet in the Alliance Empire. So that the other women would be willing to marry an Alliance man, he told Kara that she would be first. She would marry a man of his choosing this night or he would kill her male crew. Then she was taken to his room to wash and dress for her wedding. He went to the Shrine in the ship and asked the goddess of home for guidance – and she told him he was to marry the human and would find his destiny through Kara. What would the future bring to them? She was even then plotting how to steal a ship and escape. Would she learn to love the man chosen for her?
This was an interesting story line that gave the reader a great deal of description to make the world around the characters seem real. The characters were also described in detail and Kara’s strength and resolve was admirable. Once her male crew members were safely away and not used to force her to comply, she would take steps to turn everything around in her favor. I hope the Admiral knows to hold on because this feisty female is about to take him on a roller coaster ride he may not survive!
The book cover was a little misleading since I thought it might have something to do with mermaids but that’s not the case. Anyway, this is a fantasy romance. An alien and a human fall in love and have sex. I liked the story but I didn’t love it because it just didn’t do it for me. There was a lot of threesome’s with MFF and MMF and also FF sex. It just wasn’t for me. Parts of the story had a lot of narration and others parts felt rushed but overall it was an interesting story. I would recommend this book for those who like fantasy/alien romance and are into threesome’s and FF sex.
