That girl has some serious insecurity issues! And her friends *are not* her friends. Good thing she has a relationship with Christ and she reads her Bible when she’s upset.
Even though it’s a really short story you get a good feel for the characters and cheer for their HEA.
Love this sweet story, it’s very inspirational. Derek is instantly drawn to Callie and very patient with her. I like that she’s secure in being herself, her lack of confidence and the reasons why are very realistic. Though quickly caught up in their connection, Derek and Callie both have to figure out how to make their hasty marriage work. Prayer is the key as they work out all the adventurous changes. Callie’s coping with her new Alaskan environment is comical at times. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
I started this book at bedtime, and that was a mistake! I was awake half the night because I couldn’t stop reading! What a wonderful story that shows us the power of faith.
Married to an Alaskan Man was such fun to read. I have known some people who live off the grid, so I was used to how rugged this can be. It takes creative people to do this. Derek and Callie are a special couple. This story is well written. It is fun to watch Callie adapt to her new life. If you enjoy clean romances with good plots and great characters, this is a book for you.
This is a fantastic read. This story grabbed me right from the start to the finish. The story building To me is well developed. And the Characters are brought out so well that I felt like I new the characters. This is definitely a must read.

3 weeks wasn’t enough time. But Derek was sure he wanted Callie. He proposed a marriage that they could grow into. Great story. True love wins.
Married To An Alaskan Man is a heartwarming story. Full of humor, with the sadness of over thinking everything, and almost giving in to doubt and fear. This story shows how this couple both fully believed in the Lord working in their lives, but sometimes thought they knew better than he did. Once they searched their hearts they knew they had made the right choice and was living every minute of their off the grid marriage in the kind of love that only comes from the Lord.
An entertaining Christian romance. A marriage of convenience turns into a romantic happily ever after love.
This was a great story that pulled me in from the beginning. I enjoyed reading about the journey that Callie and Derek take in a modern marriage of convenience. This book had a mail-order-bride vibe to it. Their relationship showed the importance of communication. Callie was thrown into off-the-grid living that gave this book a humorous twist. This was a short enjoyable read. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Any story featuring Alaska is immediately interesting and this book was no exception. The author does a superb job of developing the two main characters – Derek and Callie. The story of their romance is sweet and clean and definitely fast-paced. They are both honest about how they feel about life, others and, of course, each other. As with any romance, there are more than a few ups and downs that kept me interested and curious to keep turning the pages. This is my first Evangeline Kelly book and I’m hooked!
This was a phenomenal, clean Christian romance from Evangeline Kelly. Callie is a socially isolated free lance writer living in New York. She dreams of marriage and children yet she hasn’t found Mr. Right and between friend’s and family’s demeaning comments and past heartache her confidence is shot and she suffers with insecurities. Derek is living ff the grid in Alaska on a farm and desperately wants a family. While visiting his mom in New York, he meets Callie and an instant connection and friendship develops. Married To An Alaskan is a captivating must read with so much heart, prayer, and belief in a loving Heavenly Father that wants us to live our lives with Him in mind. I absolutely loved this new book and I can’t wait for Hunter’s story.
“I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.”
Every time I read one of Evangeline Kelly’s books I can’t believe how different and wonderful it is! Although they are all romance novellas, every one is different. From a different theme to different issues which makes reading her books so exciting. The one same denominator is great characters. Throughout all her stories her characters are so believable and just like people in our own lives.
Married to An Alaskan Man combines all of these things things into a wonderful, original love story. With an underlying Christian theme of believing and blindly following God’s plan this book will renew your belief in marriage and true love. A short book, it is the perfect weekend read.
“Psalm 37:4. Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Derek – “I would not let her go without a fight.”
Callie – “All I could think about at that moment was that marrying Derek Murray was the best decision I’d ever made.”
There was immediate chemistry between Callie and Derek. Loved how the girl who normally gets the guy didn’t – he didn’t even pay her any attention but wasn’t rude. The writer did such a good job of making feel like I was there. Communication is always the key in successful relationships but sometimes it’s just hard to talk especially about feelings. The hot tub scene was so sweet. Hoping we get to read about Derek’s friend next.
Fall in love with this sweet story. I totally loved it. Callie and Derek are wonderful characters with faith in God. They trust that God can make their marriage into something beautiful. Just like with all relationships, there are ups and downs. If you’ve ever wondered about living off the grid, this is the book for you. I highly recommend this book and author. Happy Reading!
I have yet to be disappointed by a romance written by Evangeline Kelly. Her writing style makes the story flow. Callie and Derek are well-developed characters and easy to identify with. Callie is in for a few less than pleasant surprises about living off the grid. The plot has some twists and moves along at a quick pace. The premise is interesting: “That any man or woman who loves the Lord should be able to make a marriage work. If they both have Jesus and the determination to commit to a partnership, God will bless their union.” I would recommend this to family and friends and to readers of clean/wholesome romance and to readers of Christian romance.
