There are three things you need to know about Kat Tanner (aka Kathleen Tyson. . . and yes, she is that Kathleen Tyson): 1) She’s determined to make good decisions, 2) She must get married ASAP, and 3) She knows how to knit.Being a billionaire heiress isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it sucks. Determined to live a quiet life, Kat Tanner changed her identity years ago and eschewed her … and eschewed her family’s legacy. But now, Kat’s silver spoon past has finally caught up with her, and so have her youthful mistakes. To avoid imminent disaster, she must marry immediately; it is essential that the person she chooses have no romantic feelings for her whatsoever and be completely trustworthy.
Fortunately, she knows exactly who to ask. Dan O’Malley checks all the boxes: single, romantically indifferent to her, completely trustworthy. Sure, she might have a wee little crush on Dan the Security Man, but with clear rules, expectations, and a legally binding contract, Kat is certain she can make it through this debacle with her sanity – and heart – all in one piece.
Except, what happens when Dan O’Malley isn’t as indifferent – or as trustworthy – as she thought?

I was so looking forward to Dan and Kat resolving their issues and finally see them together! It was everything I hoped for. I loved seeing what Kat was coming from and finally understanding exactly why she changed her name. Also, i really liked that the first part of the story was at the same time of Marie and Matt’s story (Dating-ish) because there were several scenes I wanted to see from another perspective.
A lot of references to the other books in the series which i loved, and I really liked the second encounter with Seamus, he’s never gonna win against these tough girls!!
Dan and Kat were just as adorable as we would have thought and I love Dan’s family! Also, that epilogue? IT WAS EVERYTHING.
I love love love Penny’s books. But it’s so sad that it’s the last book in KitC. Just read it, you will love it!
Marriage of Inconvenience by Penny Reid (Audiobook)
Narrated by Angela Dawe and Stephen Dexter
Series: Knitting in the City book 7
5 Stars- I had been dying to get my hands on Dan’s… er… story (see what I did there,) for a long time, ever since he showed up in the very first book of the series,(I think). Wow! He did not disappoint. He was such a great guy. Understanding, funny, giving, caring, protective – really this guy has it all – and a Bostonian accent. I loved his inner narration, it was wicked awesome. Also, I loved how he longed for Kat. And let me just say..wowza.. that was some wicked hot chemistry between these two!
Kat. She was well written. Even after reading all the other books in the series, I didn’t know much about her so this story was enlightening. I could actually relate to her tendency to worry about the what if’s. She was funny, knew how to control the situation, and a bit devilish when she wanted to be. I enjoyed watching her learn to figure herself out. Also, to learn how to let Dan love her and love him in return.
Both narrators did a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life. I will probably reread this book again just so I can savour it a bit more. I am not quite ready to give up Kat and Dan the Security Man.
The author posted that she has a bunch of deleted scenes from this book.. I would love for her to publish those! I truly enjoyed the one she did share with us.
I would highly recommend this series!

The end is always the beginning…
How I love Penny Reid! I first read her Winston Brothers series, I knew this an author I would follow (or stalk, it’s all semantics 🙂 but in a healthy way I swear!!) So when I was lucky enough to read this book in her Knitting in the City series, I knew I had to jump on the chance.
Now, I have to beg forgiveness here, because sadly I had only read 3 of her Knitting books. (Neanderthal Seeks Human, Neanderthal Marries Human and Beauty and the Mustache) So sorry about this and it’s an issue I will remedy in the future!
But the fantastic thing about this book and her other’s is that even though it’s a series, each one can be read as a stand alone! For this I am so grateful for because I didn’t want to feel like I was missing anything when I started reading this book. And I surely did not.
This book is about Kat and Dan (The security man). What a lovely story. Penny writes romantic comedy at it’s finest and she does it with such class and style!
Kat has a past, a craptacular past and she beats herself up about it constantly. She has a great weight on her shoulders and a glorious infatuation with Dan, which because of an unfortunate misunderstanding, believes is one sided. But as I read, I found out, it is not!
Oh Dan, how I wish you were real! What the perfect example of a hero. Yes he was born on the wrong side of the tracks, but thats what makes him all the more enduring!
I floved the humor in this book! I mean the first interaction between Dan and Caleb is fantastically funny. A great sense of humor in a man is a very sexy quality and Dan has it in spades!
Dan and Kat are so swoony together, their interactions are so real, steamy and just wow.
I loved this book, just like I have loved everything else I have read by Penny Reid and I know I will love whatever she writes next! Thank you for your words, your stories and your world Penny!
