It’s a family tradition. Every single Appleton sister has met her husband at their parent’s annual Christmas ball. Every single sister except for Honora, that is. Determined to maintain her independence, the last thing the youngest Appleton sister wants is to be caught kissing a marquess under the mistletoe. She’s quite happy sipping warm cider and watching everyone else fall in love, thank you … you very much.
Then a handsome stranger arrives and suddenly the cider is no longer the hottest thing in the room. As sparks begin to fly, will Honora be the first in her family to break tradition…or follow in her sister’s footsteps and run towards the nearest mistletoe?

Fun and happy ever after! I enjoy all Ms. Eaton’s books. Thanks for keeping us entertained.
Lady Honora Appleton is the youngest Appleton sister & the only unmarried one. Her sisters were all kissed under the mistletoe at the annual Christmas house parties her parents had every year. She does not want to marry yet but her mother & sisters will not leave it alone & keep insisting she needs to find a husband at the party.
Jasper St. Clair, the sixth Marquess of Slatington, has been forced to take title after his father suddenly died but he is not ready to fill the shoes of his father who was a pillar of society. Jasper gambled a bit, drank a bit & spent a small fortune on his mistresses out of kindness. Now, he has to attend a house party to chaperone his sister whom he can never refuse.
From the moment Jasper & Honora met in town, they butted heads. She was rude & demanding of Jasper’s driver’s ability to park a carriage & he only snapped defensively back at her with some additional prodding to tease her. They go there separate ways but are both shocked when Jasper & his sister appears at her parent’s house party. The adventures with the two of them denying feelings, avoiding each other, bantering, arguing & finally admitting their feelings is a humorous, fun, sweet, & clean romantic romp!
I highly recommend this short, romantic holiday book to all historical romance readers. I can always depend on Jillian Eaton to write fun stories with lovable main & secondary characters.
Was Honora to find her husband at the house part under the Mistletoe? Gads she hoped not! For the last three years, one after the other of her sister’s had found their hunsbands by a kiss under the mistletoe. So of course being the last unwed sister it was her turn! Her mother had hopes now that a marquess had accepted an invitation…
Jasper St Clair, the Marquess of Slatington had been induced by his sister to attend the house party with her. He’d rather be anywhere else. But when he met Honora, well, she proved a challenge because she would not give him the time of day.
A dance of attraction and delightful characters bring this story full circle and I adored it!
It was an absolute treat to read Honora and Jasper’s story. It was sweet with just a touch of heat. Honora is not the typical young miss looking for marriage, in fact, she doesn’t want to get married as all her sisters have done, despite their plans for her. Jasper is also not the typical newly minted Lord. He’s not ready for the title and responsibilities he’s inherited and the last thing on his mind is marriage. Well, if that isn’t a match made in heaven, I don’t know what is! This was really a lovely Christmas read, my one complaint would be that I wanted to know just a little more about what comes next for this pair!

From their first meeting their were sparks between Honora and Jasper; sparks of hatred on her part because she thought he was arrogant and entitled. He is attracted to her because she’s the first woman not to fall at his feet. They only knew each other five days in this story so it had an instant love feel to it. There are plenty of innuendos spoken, but no really steamy scenes, so it was a sensual Regency Christmas novella.
Another good book by Jillian Eaton but it does not rank up there with some of her other books I have read and I have read most of them so far. I was immediately on team Jasper but I never really connected with Honora.
This is a very nice Christmas themed story told in only the way Ms. Eaton can. The dialogue banter is witty and Jasper is the perfect depiction of a rake tamed by love into a devoted suitor and future husband.
If you have never read a book by Jillian Eaton before and want a sweet historical romance you will enjoy this one!

A well written Christmas story that had me laughing as I read, I was not putting this book down once I started it. Lady Honora Appleton is one headstrong woman who does not what a man in her life until rake, Lord Jasper Slatington who does not want marriage either, comes into her life. One incident and it will have them both thinking differently. I loved this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Marquess Under the Mistletoe by Jillian Eaton was a fun, light hearted, sweet and charming story. I absolutely loved it. It’s a story worth getting in your comfy chair, favorite drink and settling down for a few hours escaping this hectic season.
Honora’s family has a house party every Christmas season. It is tradition that the girls find their husbands kissing under the mistletoe. Honora wants nothing to do with that. Jasper is a newly minted Marquess due to the untimely death of his father. He is still coping with that and doesn’t even want to go to the house party. When the two meet, sparks fly! Hanora is not impressed, and Jasper I think starts falling right away. You def need to read the story to see what happens. You know it’s going to be a HEA, but the journey is quite fun.

Lady Honora and Lord Jasper might started at the wrong foot in this story but that actually made fireworks of attraction ignite for them. I love that they are annoyed in each other most of the time because of their undeniable attraction and that no matter how much they fight the feeling.. well, love always win. An easy to read romance with happily ever after. 🙂
This was such a sweet read and I really loved the banter between Honora and Jasper. Being a handsome, wealthy and single lord, Jasper wasn’t used to being ignored or put down by a woman but Honora doesn’t let him get away with anything! I didn’t know for how long she would be able to resist his flirting and innuendoes, though! lol
A delightful novella that will make you want to go stand beneath the mistletoe:)
I was given an ARC of this book via Booksprout and I am leaving an honest review.
This book is about Honora and Jasper. All Honora’s sisters married after they kissed their husbands under the mistletoe at the family Holiday party. Honora is the youngest in the family and really did not want to get married, so she was avoiding the mistletoe. Jasper was a Marquess who went to the house party as a favor to his sister. The first time Honora and Jasper meet there are sparks and each thought the other was annoying, but they kept thinking about each other. This is a cute short love story which I enjoyed. I really liked Jasper, the way he cared about his sister and he talked about his father. Part of me wished this was a longer story because I wanted to know more about some of the other characters. I really like Jillian Eaton’s writing style.

Starring Honora Appleton and Jasper St. Claire, Marquess of Slatington.
I absolutely love Jillian Eaton, but I’m sorry to say that this story is not going to be a favorite of mine. I found Honora kinda shrewish and even when Jasper was declaring his love for her, she was still kinda sarcastic towards him. I did not find it an endearing trait at all. I felt bad for Jasper, who was a very delicious hero, by the way. There were parts that I did enjoy and gave me the feels. Jillian Eaton is still a “keeper shelf “ author for me and I will continue to read her books.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily reviewed it and the comments are 100% my own.
My star system:
3 stars: Characters and storyline were good. Some parts kept my attention. But will not be re-reading this story.
Cute instaenemies to instalove story. I love a good enemies story. The dialog is great, the story is sweet and just the thing to sit down on a lazy weekend afternoon to read. Even though this is a novella, Ms. Eaton brings all of the feels into it. Her writing is so easy to devour.
