He’s known as the Marquess of Malice…can one little lady warm his dark heart?Malice, as his friends and fellow gaming hell owners call him, doesn’t have room in his life for love. He’ll take a quiet bride, make an heir, and ship her off to the country. He’s picked the perfect little mouse for the job. The problem? When Malice asks her to marry him, Lady Cordelia refuses. Has she no sense? Any … sense? Any debutante would be happy to catch a marquess. But then again, he’s broken inside. Perhaps Cordelia is the most sensible woman of them all…
Lady Cordelia Chase has no intention of marrying the oafish, overbearing marquess. Lord Malicorn is rude, surly, and entirely unsuitable. Never mind that he’s the only man to ask. Quiet and shy, she’s been overlooked most of her life. When she marries, it will be for love and not just as a breeding cow. The only problem is that when Lord Malicorn isn’t talking, well, he’s rather strong and terribly handsome. And when he holds her in his arms, she could almost swear her heart skips a beat. If this isn’t love…what the devil is it?

Please read LORD OF SCANDAL first because the series will make more sense and it is free! You don’t have to read book 1 but do read the prequel.
Reviews have been all over on this story but I really enjoyed it. The h/H both have issues and I enjoyed how they slowly realized what they meant to each other.
There is suspense, a twist I didn’t see coming and a good set up for the next story. Romance builds slowly and I loved the banter between the two.
There is lovemaking, just outside of marriage, heat level 2.5 out of 5 and only described once and some passionate kisses.
No cheating, no cliffhanger for our couple, HEA, romance and a tad of spice. (ljb)
Marquess of Malice: Regency Romance (Lords of Scandal Book 2)
Lord Chadwick Henessey, Marquess of Malicorn known to his friends as Malice is happy running his gaming hell the Den of Sins with his friends. Until the night six ladies invade the club and are now privy to their secret. The owners can’t have their secret ownership get out to the public but the six ladies are now compromised for having been inside the Den. Now each Lord has promised to protect and make sure that none of the women let their secret out.
Malice has chosen Miss Cordelia Chase to protect and being who he is has also decided to ask her to marry him. He will do his Lordly job of getting her with child then he will ship her off to a country estate. The problem with Malice’s plan is Cordelia might not agree.
Cordelia Chase is pretty, petite and wears glasses, she also knows what she wants and what Cordelia wants in a match isn’t what Malice is looking for.
When Malice ends up in the garden with Miss Cordelia Chase he looks upon that as an opportunity to find out more about her. Malice asks her some very vague questions, to which she gives some very vague responses but he finds her to be in his words “the safe and predictable choice.” So, he asks her then and there to marry him and she turns him down! Just like that!
Hence setting the stage for the chase to begin. Lord Chadwick Henessey, Marquess of Malicorn versus Miss Cordelia Chase!
Throughout the chase or as Malice would have it courting period, we learn much about both our Hero and Heroine. Malice was brought up mostly by nannies, his father really could have cared less for him because in his father’s eyes Malice was the reason he lost his true love. That true love being Malice’s mother, who died after giving birth to Malice. Taking that into consideration we the reader can see where he is lacking in the ability to love or have knowledge of a loving relationship. Which is why when Malice starts to have feelings toward Cordelia he isn’t quite sure what exactly is happening.
The Chase sisters/cousins on the other hand not only know how they need to behave to get along in society but what they want in a husband. Oh these Lord are really going to have to work for the hands of these lovely ladies.
Between keeping and eye on the Chase Ladies and realizing the one enemy they know for sure can damage their reputations and their Club from harming the ladies and the Club our Lords are in for quite an adventure. This new series Lords of Scandal brings together 12 main characters, some not so reputable members of society, one really nasty individual and the opportunity for some very happily ever afters! I’m having a lovely time getting to know each couple. Tammy Andresen has invited us into quite the Den of Sins and I for one am looking forward to watching what is coming up next!
Marquess of Malice is the second book in the Lords of Scandal series. This series is based on six noblemen who have opened the Den of Sin, a gaming hell but have tried to keep their identity secret. When one of them becomes engaged to one of the Chase females and the women descend into their Den, they decide they need to make sure the women don’t talk. They each pick one of the women, determined to stick close to them and ensure that they don’t disclose their identity. When Lady Abernath threatens the women in order to have revenge against one of the gentlemen, the men’s protectiveness kicks in.
Chad Hennessey, the Marquess of Malicorn, known as Malice to his friends doesn’t want a marriage with emotions. He wants a wife that will be biddable, will give him his heir, and then stay in the country. He thought he had found the perfect woman for his wife in Lady Cordelia. Corde declines his offer of marriage when he says that she would be “suitable.” Chad then realizes that Corde might be quiet and shy but has a backbone of steel and is stubborn.
Lady Cordelia “Corde” Chase has always been the girl in the family who fades into the background. She was the quiet one but had always dreamed of finding a man who saw her for herself. She wanted a man to propose because he loved her not because he found her “suitable.” Can Corde change Chad’s mind of what the perfect wife would be?
This has been such an exciting series. The Chase women are sassy, independent, and stubborn. They are certainly keeping the gentlemen busy trying to keep up. I can’t wait to read the next book which will be Exile’s.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Fabulous! Marquess of Malice by Tammy Andresen is book 2 in the Lords of Scandal series. There is nothing better than a group of regency gentleman that have a bit of a bad boy in them and owning a gambling hell is one them. Though in a series this book can be read as stand alone. I always enjoy reading Tammy’s stories as I find them a true delight and wonderful characters and the Marquess of Malice is no exception. Tammy has sure an imagination and this book is very well written. This story has a cruel childhood, not wanting to love, feeling just suitable, a kidnapping, evil, revenge, a broken hand, family love, an author and yes love. I highly recommend you read this book.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
I am loving this series & we’re only 2 books in to it. The books can be read as standalones but I personally feel it is so much fun to get to no everyone as they come in to their own story & past characters show up – either way you will love them.
Chadwick Hennessey, Marquess of Malicorn aka Lord Malice & Lady Cordelia Chase are the perfect couple – they just don’t let themselves believe it. The slow burn between there two is such a fun & romantic time & the secondary characters are so enjoyable.
Tammy Andresen has written a great series surrounding the six The Lords of Scandal & I just can’t wait to read more. The humor among the lords is such fun & they play so well together!
I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given.
Just when he thought he had found the perfect lady to wed… One that was quiet and affable.. one he could wed, create a heir and never fall in love with… Keep his emotional distance..Lady Cordelia did not seem thrilled at the suggestion. In fact as he made the suggestion and told her all the points she had that made her suitable..
“Please Lord Malicorn. That’s enough.” She held up her hand. “Much as I appreciate a suitable match. I simply must decline.” Of course he could not believe it!
Cordelia was so upset. It seemed everyone noticed her beautiful sisters, but never her. She did not want to be just a suitable convenience.
But Malicorn had his own hurts from childhood and he was trying to tone down some of his rougher edges.
These two were wonderful together and I could not wait to find out what would happen!! Filled with some angst, humor, a little suspense and a chemistry that in the end could not be denied!! A wonderful addition to this series and it left me only wanting more!!
I really enjoyed book two in Tammy Andersen’s Lord Of Scandals series. It has a little suspense, some humor, spice and mystery. Sometimes you don’t see your own worth. Lady Cordelia Chase is the overlooked, quiet sister and cousin in her family. So when she is suddenly asked by the Marquess of Malicorn on their first meeting to marry him, she thinks he’s insulting her. Lord Malicorn, “Malice”’ proposed to Lady Cordelia thinking he wanted a quiet, shy wife that he can marry, have an heir and then leave her in the country. He’d never care for her. He’s shocked when she turns his insulting proposal down. The more time they spend together, the more they realize how much they really have in common. These two characters are great for each other. I’m looking forward to the rest of the books in this series. This book can be read as a stand-alone book. I received this book as an advanced reader copy. I voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
They couldn’t be more different, except they both needed and wanted to be special to just one person. Surprisingly, what Marquess of Malicorn thought he wanted in a woman, Lady Cordelia Chase seemed to possess. Then she showed him a side to her that was exactly what he truly needed.
Regency romance with all of the atmosphere of the era, a bit of humor and a little suspense are wrapped neatly in a quick little read by Tammy Andresen. THE MARQUESS OF MALICE brings another happy ending to life, as well as a bright beginning for two people who found love.
I do enjoy Ms. Andresen’s style! Short, sweet, sassy and never disappointing! This quick trip into the past will leave readers smiling.
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Tammy Andresen! This is my honest and voluntary review.

My review :
What a miss to do when she is seen only as suitable by the man who stirs deep emotions from her …
This is no secret, Mrs Tammy Andresen is part of the authors I preorder every book without even looking at the blurb, to sum up an auto-buy author, and she will stay for sure with this lovely and fun new read.
Cordelia is the shy mouse, overlooked by everyone, even her own kin. They love her but does not see her true depth and needs for companionship, they assume and go on their love with it. But Cordelia wants more from life than being second, third or forth best, to be remarkable only because her sisters are unavailable, she has her own dreams and won’t settle for less.
Chad, the Marquess of Malicorne has built a wall around himself, a facade for society when inside he is so broken he does not see his worth and believes he is unable to care or love someone so scarred he is from the inside. Why he is looking for a suitable bride and Cordelia Chase seems to fit all the cases. Until she says “No”!
Which of course takes him aback, who could in its right mind refuse a Marquess’ proposal. Shy mouse Cordelia is not whom she appears and that intrigues him.
Thus begins his non wooing mission to understand this peculiar miss. When danger looms, he will have to decide where his heart lies and what is the right course of actions.
4.5 stars for this sweet and fun read.
I was granted an advance copy by the author but also preordered mine.
Here is my true and unbiased opinion.

Chad & his friends have made a pact the each one of them will guard one of the Chase girls so that they aren’t coerced into revealing that a group of lords own a gaming den. Chad has been attracted to Corde from their first meeting but his brute of a father beat all affection from him & Chad thinks he can’t love. Corde isn’t the mouse everyone thinks she is, she may wear glasses & stay in the background but she’s no shrinking violet. I loved how the pair locked horns & how Chad rapidly fell in love & knocked all of his previous assumptions on their heads. The road to their HEA isn’t smooth with villains out to ruin their burgeoning romance but it’s highly entertaining. A lovely story with strong characters & that flows effortlessly
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Marquess of Malice is an awesome historical romance by Tammy Andresen. Ms. Andresen has once again delivered a well-written book. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. I love the characters in this story. Lord Chadwick Hennessey, Marquess of Malicorn is known as Malice. Cordelia is the sister and cousin that is often overlooked. Malice and Cordelia’s story is packed with drama, humor, spice, action and a little suspense. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to my next book by Tammy Andresen. Marquess Of Malice is book 2 of the Lords of Scandal Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
An enjoyable and entertaining Regency romance, this novel does not disappoint the reader. When Lord Milicorn, nicknamed Malice, presents his proposal to Lady Cordelia in a most insulting fashion, he’s surprised when she rejects him. Suddenly the mousey bluestocking shows her true colours and much to his surprise he admires her. The more they cross paths, the more intrigued Malice becomes as Cordelia stands for what she believes in. Having been caught in the trap set by the Countess of Abernath, Malice comes to realise just how important Cordelia has become to him and fears that he may be too late to tell her in person. This novel is well written, a bit suspenseful and delightfully romantic as Cordelia tames her beast and brings out his true nature. One does need to read previous books in this series as the plot depends on the foregoing events, but it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
***A little disappointed***
I liked Cordelia’s character. She did not pretend to be anything other than her down-to-earth self. Writing was an outlet to fill in the loneliness of being overlooked and ignored because she was quiet and shy. Malice’s character I feel needs work. His personality did not make sense to me. I could not figure out who he was. As the story goes on it explains why he was the way he was but what was that? I just could not connect with his character. Also, there were several editing issues I found that were inconsistent. That interrupted the flow of the story and jolted me out of the scene. It just did not make sense to me. I have enjoyed this series but will consider this an anomaly as I really like this author’s other work. On to the next book.
10/23/2020 I wish I could rate “Marquess of Malice” (nook) as 4-1/2 stars rather than 4 stars. The situation for Malice/Chad and Cordelia/Corde is intriguing. Their love story is sweet and enjoyable. A HEA.
Great series… I purchase all the books. I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Great characters, and a “not settling for less” kind of story-loved it!
The book was easy to read with an amusing couple. I want to read the other books in this series.
I always enjoy bluestocking heroines. Cordelia is a loner and a writer, and Chad is hesitant to let himself love her because of his tumultuous past. I appreciated that it wasn’t overly steamy – just a little bit toward the end that was easy to skim over. This is a lovely addition to the series and I’m looking forward to reading the next one.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Confirmed bachelor?
I have like this series. It takes off in the story with the gentleman quickly smitten. I do have a question about some of the words and phrases for that time period. Nevertheless, a nice idea for a series.
This is the second book in this series, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Five friends and secret co-owners of a gambling hell are assigned a group of sisters/cousins to watch over to make sure they don’t spill their secret. His dark demeanor gave him the name of Malice by his group of friends. Since his title requires him to secure an heir, he figures why not kill two birds with one stone and marry the girl he’s paired up with since he considers her “suitable”. Fun read watching him learn how little he knows about women. Will gladly continue on with this series.
