Buck Reilly’s in Jamaica and back in the treasure hunting business?-until some old enemies ace him out. Fortunately for Buck, a beautiful University professor with ancient Maroon secrets about the missing riches of captain Henry Morgan lures him back to the chase. Thrust into turbulent waters where trust is as elusive as the treasure itself, Buck’s knocked further off course with the appearance … appearance of the once love-of-his-life. The heat of Maroon Rising jumps off the page as Buck ricochets from the pirate enclave of Port Royal–once the Wickedest City on Earth–to the Blue Mountains, GoldenEye Resort, white sand beaches and the lush Cockpit Country of Jamaica. The conclusion will leave you breathless and change Buck’s life forever.

As with all of the Buck Reilly series, this one is a “Sit down and fasten your seatbelts” kind of read! John Cunningham knows how to keep you engaged and entertained!
This is the best Buck Reilly book I’ve read, lots of action, great background and history of an often neglected era. very satisfying wrap up
A fun entertaining read.
A great read from beginning to end! The main character has a keen sense of justice, and is willing to go to extremes to see that justice is done…even if that means breaking the law. That’s enough for me. I found myself cheering him on in his mission to rescue the world from a bad situation.
Been to Jamaica many times so I could put myself on the Island and picture where it all took place. Great adventure book, enjoyed very much.
This was my first reading of this author. Loved it and can’t wait to read more. Loved the realistic details of the location in Jamaica.
I love Cunningham’s Buck Reilly stories. I’m a Jimmy Buffet fan and these stories brought me to the places that Buffet sings about, but with excitement and intrigue! Can’t wait for the next one in the series. There’s so much more that can be written about and in so many different ways.
I love this series
Action packed, easy to read, kept me interested all the way through.
Enjoyed the setting in beautiful Jamaica!!
I was so happy to discover this new series extremely entertaining I loved the descriptive areas that the action took place all my favorite places in the keys and Caribbean
I couldn’t get through it….too plodding.
Good read, but 4 stars only because the author took too long to resolve the mystery…and left holes in the plot.
Interesting and knowledgeable depiction of Jamaica. Lots of intertwining characters.
A total flight of fancy. None of it made any sense. One unrealistic coincidence after another.
Expected more from Crichton. Pretty lame.
This is a very light and somewhat entertaining book. The characters are relativiely thin. The basic plot is plausible and I liked the real world details about Jamaica and the Maroons.
You can’t go wrong with a John H. Cunningham book. The characters are enjoyable, and the action keeps moving
Typical action adventure book. Like most books of this genre, a lot of unlikely stuff, but it was a fun read. Oh, and Hero is in love with his lost antique airplane.
I would rate this a a good beach/escape read. Character development was average and it moved along at a good pace but was kind of glad when I reached the end.
