Seventeen-year-old tagger Saira Elian can handle anything… a mother who mysteriously disappears, a stranger who stalks her around London, and even the noble English Grandmother who kicked Saira and her mother out of the family. But when an old graffiti tag in a tube station transports Saira to the 19th Century and she comes face-to-face with Jack the Ripper, she realizes she needs help after … all.
Saira meets Archer, a charming student who helps her blend in as much as a tall, modern American teen can in Victorian England. He reveals the existence of the Immortals: Time, Nature, Fate, War and Death, and explains to Saira that it is possible to move between centuries — if you are a Descendant of Time.
Saira finds unexpected friendships at a boarding school for Immortal Descendants and a complicated love with a young man from the past. But time is running out for her mother, and Saira must embrace her new identity as she hides from Archer a devastating secret about his future that may cost him his life.

I’ve read other books where the protagonist goes back in time or walks through a portal into a fantasy world, but this one was so unique. The synopsis caught my eye. I liked the idea that the girl Saira Elian traveled back to Victorian London instead of the usual medieval setting. Throw in some really well written time travel, five families of …
Great story; keeps going at a pace to make it really interesting 🙂
I really enjoyed this book. I am currently reading the third book in the series and have not been able to put them down. I’m glad I found this series when I did because it is helping to keep me occupied while I’m stuck at home during the Coronavirus pandemic and have nothing else to do. It has been great to escape my own reality and immerse …
I loved how the story incorporated actual historic events. It added such a realistic element to the book. Great!!
Enjoyed the introdution to the Immortals and look forward to exploring more.
Good easy read but one I could hardly put down as I wanted to know what happened to the characters. Just ordered another one in the series.
Read this series… now! Time travel, vampires, with a badass heroine.
Love Love Love
Great read/listen. I received this as a free read in 2016. Upgraded to audio with whisper sync. Loved the narration. Loved the characters, the world building, the history. I am not a fan of time travel, and I am so glad I didn’t miss out on this book. I loved it so much I purchased it again in the 3 pk bundle.
I love that the main character is a 18 year old woman who sword fights and carries daggers but also worries about normal 18 year old things like her friends and her boyfriend.
I really enjoyed this book and looked forward to reading the sequels. I like how the author wove aspects of history into the story. It was fun getting to “know” the characters.
So much fun!!! Exciting, dangerous, imaginative and very satisfying. Great intro to a series I can’t get enough of.
Love this whole series by April White! It was so hard to wait for each book to come out.
This is a story unlike any I have ever read before!
Being the second time travel book I’ve ever read, the first one setting the bar fairly high, it was nothing like I was expecting it to be, which made it that much better.
This book has a completely new concept, at least to me. The Immortal Descendants. Specially gifted people who have the …
Marking Time was a little bit of history mixed with time travel. I enjoyed the plot. I’m definitely going to read more from this author.
Great read…
This book was great. I can not wait to read the sequels.
I love how Saira has to fulfill a prophecy she did not even know she had.
A great story without the time travel, the time travel did add a nice twist. And the Characters were so inspiring and different yet the same as people today. The main characters Saira and Archer were also a little tragic as was RIngo. The imagination of the story gives a feeling of reality. I loved it and I don’t give out 5 stars easily. A really …
Loved the time travel and historical fiction. Very original book. Bought the series and sad that the last book is ending.
I could not put this book down and then I waited for the next and pre-order. The series captivated me and you love the heros and hate the villans. She develops her characters to really care what is going to happen to the,.
