With his signature blend of suspense and science, Robin Cook delivers an electrifying page-turner that delves into the murky ethics of developing genomic medicine and modern-day health care… As her relationship with Dr. Jack Stapleton begins to unravel, Dr. Laurie Montgomery starts investigating the inexplicable deaths of young, healthy people after successful routine surgery. She discovers … surgery. She discovers that the deaths might be intentional—the work of a remarkably clever serial killer with a shocking motive. And then Laurie is hit with more devastating news: she might be carrying the genetic marker for breast cancer. As the need for answers becomes more urgent, Laurie is pulled into the nightmare as a potential victim herself. With time winding down, she and Jack must put aside the tensions between them in a race to connect the dots—and save Laurie’s life…

I like all Robin Cook’s books.
I like all medical mysteries.
I love Robin Cook. He never disappoints.
It was a good read, Robin Cook, style. Some intrigue mixed with a dose of romance and a thoughtful look at the potential dangers of managed health care. Kind of frightening from a patient point of view.
Robin Cook stories are always great. Plot is in the lead, but the storyline does bog down a little in the detail, which is also a Robin Cook trait. Once you get past the detail, the incredibly entertaining and original story is worth it.
Love all of Robin Cook’s work. He’ll be sorely missed.
This was the first novel by Robin Cook that I have read, and I won’t be reading more. The characters are a little too flimsy and undeveloped for me. Plot idea was qhite interesting, which kept me reading through the less than well developed dialogue and people.
Love reading all his books
If you like thrillers based in the medical field, this one’s for you. I love all of Robin Cook’s books. His research is amazing!
Robin Cook used to always deliver great plots with stiff writing. The writing is getting worse and this plot is too predictable.

Repetitive didn’t like this book.
Typical Robin Cook – thought provoking medical possibility one day if unscrupulous people work in genetic research. Certainly a page turner. Good character and plot development. Recommend to those who enjoy medical science fiction.
Could be realistic.
