The underworld is stirring. And it’s calling out my name. One kill. One life. One snap of a demon’s neck and I will be marked with a sphere. It will not only give me purpose and strength but it will also bind me and my sister to a demon lord, Aseret. He’s killed our kin, disturbed the underworld’s resting souls and now he’s preparing to strike at the humans and vampires. If we don’t stop him, … humans and vampires. If we don’t stop him, another genocide will ensue. 9781927715987
Gifted with abilities from our ancestors, we are the last shifters. Except my sister believes that our destiny is to bear the water mark instead.
Fortunately for me, every marking comes with a price. For me, her name is Xela. The sinfully sexy dark witch with secrets flips my world upside down. She takes hold of my heart, opening the door to the underworld.
After all, there’s something good about being bad.
Note: Marked is Book 1 in the Two Halves Series with a HFN ending. Contains mature themes and is suitable for adult audience only.

This is a fascinating new paranormal series that’s unlike anything I’ve read before. This is the start of Xander & Mira’s story, who they are, what they’ve gone through, and what is yet to come for them. I got completely sucked into this world and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!!!
I was pulled into this exciting world where Xander and Mira are twin shifters with a fated destiny. Xander is frustrated waiting for his marking to move his destiny forward. As he seeks solace, he encounters Xela, a witch with her own secrets and issues. But the connection Xander and Xela have is intense, electric and all-consuming with it’s sexual intensity. As Xander works to find a way to be with Xela, Aseret gets closer to pulling him into his dark world. Add in an evil bender that is in love with Mira, a group of elders that protect various factions of humans and other-world members and a mother that is protective of her children and you have an amazing new universe to explore and devour.
I’m going to be honest when I say I was skeptical if I would enjoy this book, because I’m not a fan of paranormal romances. But, I am a huge fan of Lacey Silks, so I was willing to give Marked a try. I’m so glad I did. I was immediately pulled into the world of demons, witches, vampires, and shifters. This is book one in the Two Halves series. It is only the beginning of Xander and Mira’s story. They are the last two remaining shifters and the demon lord, Aseret, will do anything to get them. There is a struggle pulling Xander in the form of a dark witch named Xela. I’m on pins and needles waiting to see if his love for her will be his end.
Full Of Angst, Steam & A Huge Destiny!! 4.5 Stars
This is a gripping book. A tale of twins with huge destinies but they’re never told in what way, not really. Everything is said in riddles, no straight talking – ever!!
Xander, along with his twin sister, is the last of the Shifter Race. They were saved & gifted with a piece of every shifter that died so they can become any bird or animal in existence!! Xander is beyond frustrated waiting to join the fight against Aseret, the soul eating monster demon that rules the Underworld & declared war on all species – starting with the Shifters! Xander is drawn to the Underworld and he doesn’t know why. He does find the love of his life there though!! You just know it’s going to break our hearts & his!
Mira, is much more settled in their joint path. She is waiting for their marking by the ‘Keepers’ to gain the extra powers they need to join the fight. Of course it helps she’s got herself a secret love, Eryk, who works with the keepers & is already water marked!!
This is a sexy read but it’s SO much more too. It’s got depth in the world building & characters. The storyline is complex in the best of ways & it’s original, a huge bonus The prophecy & riddle speak is a little frustrating but I’m assuming it’s a delayed gratification tactic so roll on Book #2 This story does have an ending but it’s not necessarily the one we want Another reason I need the next book pronto please!!
A highly recommended 4.5 Star read Go on, you know you want to
