The House of Night series from bestselling authors P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast is set in a world very much like our own, except in 16-year-old Zoey Redbird’s world, vampyres have always existed. In this first book in the series, Zoey enters the House of Night, a school where, after having undergone the Change, she will train to become an adult vampire–that is, if she makes it through the Change. … Change. Not all of those who are chosen do. It’s tough to begin a new life, away from her parents and friends, and on top of that, Zoey finds she is no average fledgling. She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx. But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite club, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny–with a little help from her new vampyre friends.

Awesome!!!
I loved this book. It was not what I exspected and it kept me interested the entire time. I could not put it down and was so anxious to continue reading the entire series.
The wholes series was amazing. It is my favorite book series and I’ve read it time and time again. It isn’t your stereotypical vampire book, and it’s so unique and original. I don’t even like vampire books.
I’ve read this whole series and I don’t regret it. The only thing I didn’t love was the dialog. I tended to skim anytime people started talking and just focus on what was happening. And the made up words (gihugic comes to mind…) kind of turned me off. Sometimes it sounded like it was written by someone trying to sound like a really cool teenager …
Marked is the first book to P.C. Cast’s and Kristin Cast’s House of Night series. I was still in the U.S. Navy when I read this book the first time. It was right after I read the Twilight series. I never reviewed it, though, and thought it was time to re-read this series, mostly since I never finished the series. (My bad.)
First, let me say this …
Honestly one of the best books I have read in a while! I loved it and cannot wait to read the rest! little did I know I already had one of the series (book 9 I believe) and had not read it yet, now I can’t wait to read more! Very well written and really holds your attention, I could hardly put it down and only took half a day to finish!
Definitely a good read. I read it when I was in highschool but I could read this over and over. It’s easy to relate to the characters. Definitely worth the read or at least it is for me.
I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Written by mother and daughter team PC and Kristin cast, Marked is written in the first person, from the point of view of the main character, teenager Zoey… and it’s obvious from the start that she is a teenager by the style of writing. On occasion, I did find some sentences a little unnecessary (the bits in …
Awesome to read.
Picked it up and was hooked instantly!!
I would recommend this entire series. It was a page turner from the start. The characters are very vivid and lively!!
A good start to a 13 book series that was about twice as long as it should have been,
The book is a great “no thinking” science fiction book. It is fast-paced and fun to read.
recommend the whole series. Great read
My cousin recommended this book to me and I am really glad she did, I bought it on kobo and could not put it down. I can not wait to read the next books in the series.
This was a very good book. This was the first book I read from these authors and I must say I loved it. I won a box set of books5-8 at a book signing and had to buy book one in order to get started. I’m so glad I did. It only took my 2 days to complete this book which is long I know but it kept in engross throughout the entire book. I love Zoe, …
Incredible writing and an absolute page-turner.
Everything it’s a novel
The House of Night Series: Books 1-12
I was addicted after the first paragraph.
Well I’m setting at the middle of the road here, as this story was neither here nir there for me. It is a YA but I would put it at the younger age of YA (middle school?). There is a lot if immaturity in the dialogue, the words retard and poop were used multiple times. Also the characters came off very whiney and young. The story felt at odds for …
