The final Guzzi Legacy novel.
The Guzzi Legacy, Book 6
more
Honestly, reading about Marcus Guzzi and how he found his happy ending was bittersweet. Not only was he the last Guzzi son to find his happy, the next in line to be Boss, the one woman who could make him complete was also the last daughter of the Marcello family to remain single. So in a way, a sad and yet oh so happy way, the author was wrapping up two legacies and it both broke my heart and made me freaking ecstatic!
How do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
Outweigh the bad
Marcus Guzzi was the eldest son of Gian Guzzi, the underboss, the only sibling without a twin, and basically a carbon copy of his father. There was never any doubt he’d take over la famiglia once his father took a step back and he’d looked after his siblings for forever because ‘family first’. He put everyone before himself and yet when the opportunity for more in his life came, he couldn’t resist. His attraction to Cella was almost like an obsession. What seemed important before paled in her presence. He easily fell in love with her, her daughter, and the life that they could have together. He just had to convince her.
Just because he’s a made man doesn’t mean he doesn’t have feelings here. So while you figure out what you want, please remember that there are more people than just you in the equation. – Lucian
Cella Marcello was a character I’d broken my heart over already. I remember when her husband died. I remember how his death further fractured her relationship with my bae, John. I think the author did a brilliant job of showing how she dealt with that pain and learned to live again, for herself and for little Tiffany. While it didn’t go too deep, the steps she made, full of such pain, were impossible to ignore. Her grief was like a living and breathing entity and it was no small thing for her to survive and then thrive. Cella became such a beautiful person and I couldn’t help but cheer her on while she found a new love. She made mistakes along the way, but that was to be expected because she was still afraid. It made her breathtakingly human and made her story that much more worthwhile.
I will admit that my absolute favorite character in this story was Tiffany. Bethany-Kris created such a sweetheart of a child who made me smile like a bleeding fool at my kindle. The relationship she developed with Marcus just made me swoon harder for him and tipped the scales on how I would rate this book. It was all too easy to give Marcus’s story all the stars!!
I am actually sad that this series is coming to end but, we really loved being on the ride all the way through this entire series, and this final book with Marcus’s and Cella story was a perfect ending to it all.
Out of the entire series, it was hard to pick a favorite couple first choice though would be Gian and Cara but, my second favorite would be Marcus’s story as this story was so heartfelt and emotional and one that really engaged the reader’s emotions.
I always tend to pick a favorite character and mine this time around would be Marcus. I loved Marcus from the onset of the story. We found him to be tall, dark, dangerous, sexy, loving. We loved the fact that what he was looking for in a mate or relationship is what his parents had. Not only that, but we also loved that the fact that he always put Cella and her needs before his own and considering he was the top Don of a Mafia family that told you right there that he had found something special. We loved how Cella brought out a different side of Marcus that he kept locked away. I loved too how he loved Cella’s daughter as if she was his own child from the onset of meeting her as she was really a special kind of child full of love and goodness, and we loved that sassy little girl, and she was a lot of fun to read about.
Cella we found to be beautiful and sweet, kind, loving, and a knockout and full of talent and a wonderful mother and one who experienced a lot of pain for someone so young.Cella’s character made us feel her pain and what this poor woman was experiencing, and we envy the love she bore her husband and her.Cella was a special kind of woman that when you found her you would do everything in your power to keep her.
Overall we love this story from beginning to end as it had a cast of wonderful characters, suspense, romance, and a family who loves their families as deeply as they love their women. This story was also had a lot of hotness and sexiness to it and Marcus’s & Cella’s chemistry together was just scorching h
Marcus’ story is the best one of the Guzzi family! He’s everything I hoped he would be and so much more. He lives his life the way he is expected to live it. A made man, son of a boss, in control, not to overreact and now the crime boss of the family. He has big shoes to fill and he wears those shoes perfectly. His personal life isn’t where it should be. He’s expected to have a wife by his side and a family with the position he holds.
Along comes Celia Marcello’s story. Their lives have intertwined before but now, fate has new plans for them. I love her story, my heart broke, I cried, and her daughter stole my heart.
I can’t believe how much I would love Marcus given his demeaner in previous books. I knew about Celia from prior books as well, but to put them together was perfect. I still get emotional when I think about their story. I really need more from this Guzzi family.
Marcus was one great finale of the Guzzi Legacy series for 2019. I have been curious about his own story from the moment he appeared in his parent’s book. And I’m so glad that his story is finally here!
Let me tell you as a big fan of the Guzzi series, this is everything I could ever hope for and more. There are so many things that I loved regarding these characters and their story,
First off, Cella’s portrayal of a single mom was spot on. As a widow, she wanted to take the reins in raising her child and be as independent as she can be. However, she unwittingly ended up further away from her family. It was her grief and heartbreak that made her so real and lovable to me. But it was Tiffany that stole my heart.
Tiffany and Cella’s bond is everything that you could wish for a mother-daughter relationship to be. And having Marcus worm his way into the little girl’s heart (and her Mom) was so sweet and special.
As for Marcus, the heir apparent to the Guzzi kingdom, his role as the future leader of the pack was seen from the very first Guzzi book. The singleton of the Guzzi brood, he was made to take over his father’s footsteps. To see him flourish and overcome his adversities was one of the best plotlines of these series.
Cella and Marcus were the inevitable pair that everybody has been waiting for. The poignant story of loss was so real in this book that you can’t help but cheer for Cella and Tiffany’s happily ever after. And in the end, they did find it in Marcus.
Marcus…I think he is my favorite in this series. I loved each of Guzzi heroes but he stole my heart. I was captivated by the story and was so fully in it that sometimes I forgot that I have other things to do.
He and Cella are perfect. My heart hurt for Cella and I am so happy she found her happiness in the end.
This book is the perfect ending to the series but I’m so sad it’s over. But at the same time I’m waiting for what Bethany keeps in store for us!
I was so worked up for this book,I think that I wanted to read about Marcus since last year or so…And this book was everything that I wanted.
Marcus is always calm, collected and on time.He is the oldest brother and the next Guzzi boss so he took the task of taking care for his family. He is always taking care of his brothers and doing work.
Meeting Cella give Marcus something else to focus on,his love for her is amazing.
Cella is slowly coming to terms with the loss of her husband.Even tho it happened years ago,she is still struggling with it.The only happy thing in her life is her daughter Tiffany.
These two meet by accident and it explosive.Cella is traumatized by her past and is struggling to try something new again and Marcus is in love, for the first time and ready to wait for her.
This book is typical BK’s style. There is heavy romance with good character development and a little bit of action.
Everything that I love.Definitely recommended from me.
4.5 Stars
I look forward to each and every Bethany-Kris book that lands on my iPad because it’s a given that each book will be a good one. Here, the impending drama was evident well before it hit the page. Be prepared to swept up in a heartwarming romance that leaves you on the edge of your seat.
Cella and Marcus connected instantly. They are perfect for each other. His gentleness and patience matched her level headed approach to life. He switched between business and pleasure with ease. Cella’s maturity to adapt to his world made her look regal. Neither could afford to commit to the wrong person.
Their romance encaptured all I adore in Bethany-Kris’ Commission World. Cella knew exactly what life with Marcus would entail. It was barely a consideration for her to entertain the moment she fell under Marcus’ charm.
Marcus, ever the thoughtful man, considered Cella’s daughter, Tiffany, just as important as Cella. The sweet little girl melted my heart. She was quite the little Miss without being obnoxious! Her presence demanded that Marcus and Cella steamed up the room whenever they got alone time!
The Guzzi clan cameos added a dimension to Marcus and his place within the family business. I loved how they challenged him while giving him their utmost support. Marcus showed the boys in leather that there’s a world of difference between them and a Guzzi man in his suit. He exuded power and played his opponents skillfully without them realising they were way out of his league.
The epilogue blew me away! The conversations that took place were priceless. I am hoping that Tiffany’s chatting continues beyond this book and compels Bethany-Kris to tell her story.
Cella is a widow, single mother of a daughter named Tiffany, and the last single Marcello daughter. She is a interior designer in high demand and is hired by Marcus to decorate his penthouse. Marcus is the oldest Guzzi son and set to take his father’s place as leader for the mafia. He is handling his responsibilities and has always been the one his brothers and others can count on. Cella was his perfect match. Marcus and Cella together steam up the pages. A wonderful ending to this series.
Marcus Guzzi, the oldest son of Gian Guzzi, his time has come…to step up and be Boss. Cella Marcello, a widow with a daughter, beautiful, but still hurting after so many years of losing her husband. She is continually haunted by his death. This book is riveting and mesmerizing. I was spell-bound and could not put it down. I love all of these Mafia men! Marcus is one more exceptional Guzzi man. You will love their love story.
Cella lost her husband too soon because of the lifestyle of the people around them, he wasn’t a made man, but she was a Marcello daughter, she didn’t want to marry a made man and didn’t, but her husband died anyway. Marcus Guzzi came to pay respects instead of his father, funny how all the crime families come together at a time like this.
Marcus was a Guzzi principe and he knew duty always called, never ended, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. When his father announced he would be stepping back and only stepping in until things become final, Marcus felt like there was a timer that had gone off, he know he needs to marry, and to an appropriate woman approved by the family. He never expected to feel the instant attraction when he met Cella who he was helping for his father’s surprise for his mother.
Cella does a job as a favour to her father and find out it’s for Gian Guzzi and his son with be her main point of contact. Marcus agrees to help her learn more about his mother so she can personalise the design for her. Although the ‘date’ with Marcus is so she can learn more about his mother, the more time she spends with Marcus, the more she can feel herself falling, until she’s made to realise that everything that happened in her past could happen again, can she let herself love Marcus and her past stay in the past.
I dying here! It can’t be over!! I love all the mafia series from this fantastic author but this is one of my favorites. Knowing where these Guzzi boys came from led to this fantastic finale of the Legacy. And what a legacy for the heir to the Guzzi Cosa Nostra empire. The TDF Marcus. Such a badass Boss, always. Demanding the respect he deserves and always in control and in command of his kingdom. Saved the best for last? Maybe, but I loved Corrado and Alessio’s duet. I’ve been waiting for Marcus’ story as he watch and protect over his brothers in the other stories and learned how to be the Boss from his father, Gian. As the oldest and only singleton with all the twins he was always different. Add in Gian’s lessons and you have a spectacular man. Hot, handsome and powerful. Marcus needs a fabulous woman and finds one in Cella Marcello. It’s mafia heaven! A Guzzi and Marcello is the perfect way to end this series. I loved the peeks of the wonderful Marcellos. Lucia and Renzo are some of my favs. And the growing Guzzi family with the indomitable Cara as the mother of all mothers. I loved the ingenious bad guys that add the drama and danger in this story and the way Marcus responds when his loved ones are affected. But is it too much for Cella with her tragic background and a mother’s need to protect her daughter? She’s so strong and just what Marcus needs as he moves into his power and place as the Boss. Once again this author has delivered another terrific story with a sexy romance set in the always exciting and dangerous mafia world. I need another story though with more of Marcus, Cella, Tiff and their family. A Christmas story? I’m in! I will say I’m disappointed in the cover. Marcus needs his three-piece suit! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
So da** good….
I loved the ending to this series spinoff but, at the same time, hate that it is all over. The Marcellos and Guzzis have raged and loved through all kinds of ups and downs that could
only happen in a family…. Did you need to read the previous stories in this series? No, but you really need to…
It was appropriate I think that Cella and Marcus brought everything to a close. They met at one of the worst moments in her life. Little did they know they would reconnect years later and light a fire that would upend both their lives. Cella was a widowed mom and gave her daughter all the love she had left. Marcus was all about work and family so he respected her commitment to both. Even as she had him distracted for the first in, well, ever. It was heated, romantic, and fun with Tiff at the center of their unexpected romance.
This story, like all that came before it, was all that good reading is. Each character was unique, always intriguing and ready to take on any situation head on. Whether it was family or famiglia, there was always something interesting, deadly or lively going on. Sometimes all three! Family at the core – whether parents, siblings or kids – there was support, cajoling and teasing. Most of all there was love and protection…
I didn’t want to turn that last page. Not. One. Little. Bit. Happily, I will be starting back at the beginning as a re-read is a must. I want, need, to feel all those emotions one more time…
*Reviewed for Nerdy Dirty & Flirty
This has been my favorite Guzzi novel, hands down. Everything is interconnected in BKs worlds, but they are always stand-alone a, which is a feat within itself. I’m so thoroughly impressed with how this author could make their character so mysterious, yet show so much compassion, and have their emotions really pour through their actions.
Cella is probably my favorite. She’s a widow-been through a lot-and was just absolutely perfect for the brooding alpha. A definite 5 stars! The best mafia author out there!
Cella Marcello grew up in the mafia world making a rule never to date a made man. Her number one rule ended with her marrying outside of the organization to avoid the dangerous lifestyle she kept observing yet the unavoidable happenstance resulted in her being a young widow with a baby. However after a devastating loss she built walls around herself until she meets Marcus Guzzi. He came along swoon worthy and patiently took the wall down brick by brick. Can she overlook her first rule? Is she willing to put her past behind for a second chance at love?
Marcus Guzzi is the oldest son and heir as the Costa Nostra family leader, his training began at an early age. His whole life as the underboss has been walking a straight line and centered around his family and the organization until he is made the boss and meets Cello and Tiffany.
Marcus is every woman dream man, who is confident, strong, loving and essential sexy as he**. His sensual gift is breathtaking and he didn’t mind letting down his guard around his lover but remained stern and serious about his respectful position within the mafia organization. Now that’s a man and a true breed of Gian Guzzi. I believe the author saved the best story for last because IMO, Marcus took the lead in this series. Definitely a must read!
****I voluntarily received an Advance Review Copy of this book in exchange for my honest review****
Per usual,i was captivated by author’s amazing talent. She writes the stories in the depth of emotions… love, lust, suspense. Amazing, beautiful story between two amAzing characters.
Perfect finale to the Guzzi series…
This author has done it again. She drags me into a world that I absolutely adore and once again delivers a romance filled with passion, heat, emotionality, and amazing family dynamics.
Marcus is the last Guzzi brother and the oldest to find his soulmate. He’s busy with la famiglia and just taking care of others. But when Marcus get reintroduced to Cella Marcello and her daughter Tiffany, a spark begins. Watching these two carefully navigate a relationship is heartwarming and endearing. It’s not an easy road as Marcus is positioned to become The Boss and Cella must decide if her heart can risk love again with someone like Marcus.
I loved that the author gave us family time with both the Guzzi and Marcello families. As families are important and vital to both, their interactions were poignant and sentimental. And because of Cella’s past, the story was emotional as well.
I will say that Marcus was a the perfect conclusion to the Guzzi series. And I must also gush because the epilogue was just the best ever!! I smiled and I cried and felt complete. What can I say, I’m just a Guzzi-Marcello loving fan. Thank you Bethany-Kris for creating families that I adore and will want to go back and revisit from time to time.
5 MF STARS!
Every Guzzi man is different but the same in their love and loyalty to their family and la famiglia. Marcus is the oldest of the Guzzi brothers. He was groomed to be his father’s right hand man and took the role of looking after his brothers. He is an honorable man, kind and worthy of everything good.
Cella Marcello thought if she stayed away from men like her father, brother, uncles and cousins her life would’ve turned out differently for her but that was not the case. She had to pick up the pieces and raise her daughter as a single parent.
Years pass and a secret job brings Marcus and Cella face to face. Marcus is good for Cella. He is so understanding of the life she’s lived and just wants a space in her life / heart. It took some time but Cella finally did realize Marcus was who she needed because he cared for her and her daughter.
Nobody and I mean NOBODY writes mafia the way BK does. From beginning to end I am invested and by the end I’m ALWAYS left wanting more of the world she has created. Lucky for me she doesn’t leave her readers wanting for more than a month. Not only is she a BAD A** writer but she is an awesome human being. She gives so much to her readers and for that I am forever grateful.
Woahhhh, Marcus was amazing!! This book is like a double cherry on top of an amazing sundae! Every time I read a Bethany-Kris book I realize how I’m unable to pick just one Kris story. I’m not even sure I could choose a single family as a favorite series!! However, what Marcus has that the other books don’t is closure. It wraps up the Guzzi’s and the Marcello’s. Of course she would find a way to put two of the last singles together and make it amazing!! Marcus is the heir to the la familia. It was never a question and he was all for it. Just like he was all about Cella. I’d previously ached and cried for Cella so seeing her getting her HEA just made me month!
I feel like I just rave and rave for Bethany-Kris’s novels but I guess when an authors is skilled like Mrs. Kris is there isn’t much else to do. This might have been my absolute favorite child that BK has ever written. Tiffany was just precious and the relationship between her and Marcus grabbed me right by the heart and squeezed!! I can’t help but consume these stories! This is author that if you like your romance with some pulse-pounding situations that ride the line of right and wrong everyone should try!! I honestly can’t fathom one person cracking open a Bethany-Kris novel and not falling in deep with the characters, the plot and the gorgeous way Kris writes.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
5 STARS
Bethany-Kris has delivered another golden masterpiece! Marcus is now my favourite Guzzi Boy…so much like Gian…LOVE HIM!!! The way he treated Cella like the queen she was born to be, and how he interacted with Tiffany just made my ovaries explode.
“Sometimes, that’s the point. You shouldn’t look for the good things, Cella. They should just find you when you need it the most.”
I am always in awe of BK’s stories and writing style, especially how she draws you in to the worlds she creates. I highly recommend reading this book, as well as the whole Guzzi Legacy series. Marcus by Bethany-Kris is an EPIC read and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
I’ve probably said this about each and every book hero Bethany-Kris has written. Marcus is so swoon-worthy. Gian and Cara Guzzi raised those boys right! The level of respect and loyalty they have for one another is out of this world. Marcus finished off the Guzzi Legacy Book perfectly. The chemistry between Marcus and his leading lady, Cella had me in all the feels. It was nice to see man who is the most serious out of the Guzzi Boys stripped bare when with Cella. He let his guard down for her which showed me he was so much like his dad. Despite the ruthlessness of his position it was held separate from his personal life.
The author is one of a kind. BK takes mafia romance and shows life beyond all the crime, bloodshed, violence, etc. She focuses on the character behind the status and how family, loyalty and love make up the person they are. That is what makes her books stand apart from other mafia reads.
