The Guzzi Legacy, Book 6

As soon as we got the briefest glimpse of Marcus Guzzi in his younger brother Corrado’s book I was hooked. I couldn’t wait to read his book and as I got to read more about him in each of his brother’s books as they were released, Marcus became one of my most anticipated releases of 2020. When this book popped up on my Kindle, I read it in one sitting, cover to cover and it did not disappoint. Not only was Marcus my most anticipated book of 2020, but it was one of the best books that I have read this year. He and Cella were absolute perfection. The way this Guzzi Principe and Marcello Principessa were with each other, with his brothers, her daughter and their families was captivating. The way this author writes the layers to these characters always makes me feel like I am envisioning a movie instead of reading lines on a page. This is an absolute must read and a definite 5 stars!
The oldest son of the Costa Nostra family, Marcus, is set to take over the family. The only son with out a wife. That is until Cella walks into his parents penthouse to redecorate it as a surprise for his mom.
Cella never wanted to be with a made man. Her husband had been a lawyer but shortly after the birth of their daughter, Tiffany, he had been murdered. Cella moved through life with her heart behind a wall. That is until she meets Marcus and falling for him was the easiest thing.
Let me start by saying… oh my heart!!! Nothing is more beautiful than being a single mom and finding that someone who not only loves but your child also. Marcus although a made man, the boss, he is an absolute gentleman. He puts Cella and Tiffany’s needs above his own. Not only did they both fall so fast and hard for eachother but Tiffany also. They made a family together through all the distance, past ghosts, and the business. I enjoyed this story immensely.
I recieved am ARC in exchange for a honest review.
This is the 6th and final novel in this phenomenal series and is Marcus and Cella’s story. This riveting tale is about how the intriguing, controlling and mysterious Marcus has the lovely Cella chipping away at his heart in this truly beautiful love story. This is this gifted author at her best and this story is raw, gritty, emotional, healing, steamy and filled with suspense, angst, loss, and sizzling chemistry. I was totally captivated throughout his addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all.
Marcus knows he’s soon to be unleashed to make his mark as the lone top dog don of his family’s mafia business. Having been groomed for years, he’s basically already been walking in those shoes and his father’s footsteps so the transition seems as natural as it does inevitable. Filling that role means he must meet another obligation very soon…matrimony. Lucky for him and us the perfect lady love seems to fall right into his arms and heart. She’s not alone, either, folks. Her sweet young daughter wins his heart, too.
Cella has seen and lived the best and worst of the mafia life and knows it can take as much as it gives. She’s tried walking on the safer side of the mafioso road and still got ran over, with her heart and life becoming a casualty of war. She’s uncertain if she could withstand another round of the bad that seems to come with the good of this way of life. However, she’s got a young daughter now to look out for, as well. She’s not stupid though and realizes her DNA famiglia roots will always have her anchored into this never completely lets you go world.
This meant for each other lovebirds romantic tale seemed to flow naturally, folks. Sure, there was some relationship angst, including an emotional meltdown where past and present emotions collide, but these two seem to understand and complete each other upon that second meeting.
As always, I enjoy spending time with the sub-characters from previous books that make cameos here. Though I did skip Corrido (book 1) and Alessio (book 2) because that set-up is just not my thing, I’ve been reading this author for years so am very familiar with this spin-off series and its family tree history. Needless to say, I’m already looking forward to my next Bethany-Kris mafioso fix and can’t wait to see what she has in store for us avid mafioso romance readers in the future.
Romance Safety Gang: This MC met briefly at her husband’s funeral. She’s hasn’t been with another man the 4.5 years since that brief introduction. There is no OW drama looming in the background. She’s now ready to move on when they meet again. Instant attraction/chemistry.
Title: Marcus, Series: The Guzzi Legacy (Book 6), Author: Bethany-Kris, Pages: 372, stand-alone but part of an ongoing series, alpha groomed to be mob boss hero, widow mother heroine who loved her dead husband, HEA, cameos of characters from previous books, brief mob/MC related violence, VERY graphic smexy scenes.
