He bought me for his king. Now he’s claimed me for himself.I didn’t believe the rumors about TerraMates. People say the company has started taking women off the streets and selling them as sex toys for aliens.I should have listened.I’m a prisoner, and my captor is supposed to deliver me to his leader. But after tasting my body and mastering my soul, he has decided he wants me for himself. He … has decided he wants me for himself. He doesn’t care what the king wants.
Do I want to go back to Earth, or keep begging for more?
more
This story is a different type of TerraMates story in my book and in a good way. I am so use to the “we make sure our matches are matched perfectly” motto that I didn’t comprehend how things are so much different in this story. The one “acquiring” her as his wife doesn’t even care about her specifically just that he has a wife and has the money to pay for her. To me there were too many unanswered questions that could have been addressed. I honestly waiting for it to come out that Emily’s intended really was Orien but was shocked to find out that the cruel King really was her intended mate.
To me Emily and Orien’s story just doesn’t fit as a TerraMate match story. This is a solid 3 1/2 stars for me. Maybe there could be a second book to address the many questions left after finishing this story.
Emily is in a dead end relationship when she decided to become a Terramates bride never realizing the adventure she was going to have. When King Ursen hired Orien to smuggle is Terramate bride to Omicron he really didn’t have a choice, but he didn’t expect to fall in love with her. Baromaian Prince Orien was a man who had left the royal life for that of a criminal and flt that he had nothing to give Emily, besides he really needed the money for her delivery so he felt he had no choice but to fight his feelings. Emily wasn’t happy being a Terramate Bride and wanted to o home, but also was confused by hr feeling for Orien. It only took an attack from space, a crash landing, alien wildlife attacking and a mad brutal king claiming Emily before they both excepted their future was meant to be together.

Marauder: A Science Fiction Alien Mail-Order Bride Romance (TerraMates Book 16)

The Author graciously gave me an eARC and I am leaving an honest review.
Imagine that Han Solo was not only a scoundrel and a smuggler but a out of favor prince trying to keep himself and his best friend/first mate alive and in credits!
Then imagine that he agrees to deliver the most perfect woman he has ever met to a less than good Emperor (can we all agree that Emperors tend to be bad things) Emily has signed on to TerraMates, believing that the company has a 99.5% success rate. But as things move forward, she begins to believe she may, indeed, be that 5%. Especially when she is drawn to Orien and she has no idea what her future husband is. She continually has cold feet for the Emperor, and hot pants for Orien, the smuggler prince.
The action reminded me of a far more futuristic version of an Erroll Flynn Pirate movie. The romance is there and more importantly the action and the rest of the story aren’t just stitched in to move from one sex scene to another. Not to say the sex scenes are thrilling! Your heart will race and you won’t be able to put it down!
The twist at the end is fantastic. I would love to stick with these characters somehow in future books from Lace.
Lisa Lace has shown her talent is never ending and her imagination is ever expanding!
5 Quasars out of 5!

This series of books just seem to get better with each one.
The only thing they really have in common is TerraMates .
If you have read any of the other books in this series you
are going to be completely surprised by this one. right from the
start of the story it’s hooks you. There’s plenty of action and quite
a few funny parts in it as well.
This one is Emma and Orien story. Emmea is in a just friend relationship
with benefits and the joker she is with can not satisfied her in any department.
So she answered a message from Terramate. This is where the story really takes off.
Orien was hired by the person who is go to be her husband. Things don’t go to plan
When Orien set eyes on Emma. If you want to know what happens you are going to have
to read it yourself because I don’t want to reck the story for you.
Great plot and characters.

The characters + storytelling were very captivating
Emily was on the way to her groom.
Orien decided to keep the bride for himself instead.
The storytelling + the character’s build were awesome!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this Terramates! The banter between Emily and Orien was hilarious and had me laughing out loud. Although Emily couldn’t keep her mind made up about what she wanted to do or where she wanted to be. She complained about pretty everything, there was times she was a very strong character.
Orien definitely had the devil may care attitude. He was reckless, cocky, and live life in the moment. He felt an attraction to the bride to be he is being paid to deliver but he knew he would have to deliver her no matter what.
The only thing I didn’t understand was if Terramates made a mistake with this match or was this deliberate since so much was paid for by the male who wanted her???
I don’t know if you can call the man Emily is supporting on Earth her boyfriend as he is a total d-bag who is quite obviously doing nothing but using her so I was quite impressed when she decided to just say enough & I’m outta here, although she may have been a little hasty in not getting more details up front. Orien is one of my all time favourite Lisa Lace characters, he is hilarious and his friendship and banter with Mor made me laugh more than once. Orien is a bit of a reprobate but so lovable with it that you can’t hold it against him. He escaped the clutches of his father because he could not abide his father’s tyrannical ways and turned to a life of smuggling and conning people but at heart both he & Mor have a code of ethics and morality that they hold true to. When Orien & Mor are paid a vast sum of money to smuggle the King’s new bride, Emily, to him they think it’ll be a piece of cake never expecting the electric attraction that will flare between Orien and Emily. The two of them also made me laugh out loud, at times they were like spoiled children playing tit for tat and at others they were so caring and genuine with each other but Orien does his best to put her off because he knows the consequences if he should fail in his undertaking to deliver her to her groom to be but sometimes emotions that strong just cannot be quashed. Danger abounds for them, not only because of the bounty on Orien’s head but a crash landing, a long and peril filled trek through the jungle and a whole bunch more keeps them from achieving their goal and gives Orien & Emily more time to do the wrong thing – or is it? Is there a way for the two of them to be together despite the odds stacked against them? Can Orien face his responsibilities to his people and take up his father’s mantle? Can Emily abandon her desire to return to Earth for Orien & live a life of a smuggler and nomad should he decide not to take the role of Emperor? You’ll have to read it to find out.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Spur of the moment choice
Okay this book was a little strange in my opinion. the main characters don’t always think through their choices after hurt or anger and that leads them to different points in their life that let them connect in space.
I found the lead character Emily just a bit whiny I don’t want to call her needy but she’s just have no faith in herself or believe that she’s worth more than being someone’s convenience and caregiver.
Now Orien he has been gifted with looks, charisma, Birthright to a kingdom and he asks like a petulant child. He’s inconsiderate to his bodyguard / friend Mor and take advantage of said friend. I gave the book of four because it is well written and you get an happy ending.
For me the book felt like it was missing something at the end.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed this book without obligation to the author.
Don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone….
One question asked…one question not answered. That’s all it takes to completely change Emily’s life. Agreeing to be a mail-order bride for TerraMates is supposed to be the answer to all her problems. It doesn’t take long for Emily to realize it may be a bigger problem. Home on Earth never sounded so good. Orien is an intergalactic fugitive and a renegade prince. When he is hired to deliver a bride to King Ursen of Omicron, Orien thinks it should be just another job. He didn’t count on Emily. She drives him insane but that’s the way he likes it. Will he realize what he has before it’s too late? I loved this one. The banter between Emily and Orien was nothing but “foreplay” for these two.
*I received an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
This was a great addition to the series. I loved Emily and Orien and even Mor. Emily signs up for TerraMates but things don’t really work out the way she hoped. She is being taken to her very secretive fiance by Orien and Mor. Orien is charming, infuriating, and very protective. His partner in crime, Mor is there to protect him and take care of his drunken butt.
Emily and Orien hit it off and their chemistry is off the charts. I really loved their story and all the action in this book. I think I would have liked an Epilogue about after…..the fact. And I really want Mor and his literal and dry sense of humor to have a story.
