He stole my heart out of revenge. There was one thing I always thought was mine to give: my heart. I never imagined a marauder would steal it out of vengeance—vengeance that had nothing to do with me. His greatest enemy happened to be the man in love with me, and somehow I became nothing but a pawn. I was no damsel in distress, though. More like an archer, ready to battle. And my target? The … ready to battle.
And my target? The marauder himself.
Cashel “Cash” Kelly.
Kelly might have been as gorgeous as he was ruthless, but he had no idea what I’d do to steal it back. Or better yet, get even.
She was determined to keep what was mine.
They say hearts can’t be stolen unless they’re willing to be. Tell that to the man everyone on the streets called “the marauder.”
Me.
Because by the time I was through, Keely Ryan’s heart would be mine. And my enemy’s? As good as broken. Trouble was, the archer was precise with her aim, and her arrow was pointed at my heart.
Marauder is the second of three books set in the savage world of the Gangsters of New York series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but they are all based in the same world.

After Machavellian, I was beyond intrigued to see what would come next in this series. To say I was not disappointed is an understatement. What I love though is that it is about Keely and I have been dying to know more about her. What di Corte gives us with this story is a raw and passionate tale that will keep you on your toes and guessing what will happen next. Her attention to detail is beyond amazing. With Cash you have someone jaded and seeking revenge. You have so many thoughts of him while reading this story. The battle of will and wits between him and Keely has you on your toes the whole entire time and guessing what will happen next.
From that first chapter and their first meeting, you fall in love with both of them and have an amazing push and pull as these two battle it out. It flowed amazingly and the character build was brilliant. I have to say, I am really enjoying these stories and I really do want more!
Out of the two book so far in the Gangsters of New York this one is by far my Favorite!!!!
Cash and Keely don’t really see eye-to-eye and the fire between them really keeps this book interesting.
Keely is a strong and feisty women that is more than capable of holding her own. She can fight her own battles, and sometimes fights others battles.
Cash is ruthless and dangerous, that goes after what he wants. When he has his mind set on something he doesn’t stop until he gets it.
The twists in this book really keep it going and had me wanting to know everything. The chemistry in this book was off the charts and only go hotter the more I read. Can’t wait for the next book.
“Kindred spirits always find kindred spirits” I thought book one of this series was incredible, but I had no idea just what Bella Di Corte had in store for us. I absolutely loved how this book ran at the same time as book 1, but from a completely different vantage point. I learned some things and have tons of new questions. I thought I was in love with Mac, however Cash stole my heart like the Marauder he is. Keely damn what a fierce and strong female characters who, well ….WOW you’ll just have to read to find out. I am so looking forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for an honest review.
What is not to love about this couple?!?! First, Keely is amazing!! I love a strong, kick butt female character in a book. Then you have Cashel or “Cash” He pretty much checks all the boxes…gorgeous , hot name , bad boy , Irish , Incredibly sweet , that accent !! I liked how we got to see Keelys POV from the first book. A whole other story was playing out and we had no idea! This book had everything you could ask for in a mafia romance. You really feel like you know the characters and root for them the whole way! It draws you in and you won’t put it down until you’ve read the last page. It is definitely 5 stars!! ITS GRAND JUST GRAND!!
This story can be read as a standalone and we are introduced to both characters in “Machiavellian”. This is Cash and Keely’s story. Cash is dangerous and ruthless and is on a mission of vengeance for the people who wronged him and his family. Keely is feisty and strong and is more than capable of fighting her own battles, and from the very beginning her and Cash butt heads. This is a well written tale which is filled with action, danger, suspense, twists, miscommunication, and explosive chemistry. I was hooked throughout and look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.
Grand. Just grand.
Cashel is a no holds barred sexy gangster who doesn’t know what hit him when he went after Keely. He is a man who thinks he has no heart, but it turns out, Cash will bleed for those he loves and considers worthy. This story will make you laugh outright and will also break your heart and bring tears to your eyes.
I have read this multiple times, and the more I read this, the better it gets. If you read Machiavellian, then you absolutely want to read this one too.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book.
Marauder (Gangsters of New York – Book 2) – Bella Di Corte
Just Grand!
Bella Di Corte’s Marauder is the perfect book 2 to Machiavellian!
Oh the Irish! Or more so Oh, Cash Kelly…a marauder who steals things others want and this time he is going after a heart. The heart he is after is that of Keely Ryan, best friends with Mari, wife of Mac Macchiavello. Of course you don’t steal a woman’s heart when she is not that well known to you, but Cash will, he does know of Keely Ryan, but his biggest incentive, to steal her away from Scott Stone, Stone wants Keely, Cash wants Keely’s heart, oh the Irish they are a sneaky bunch when hearts are involved.
As in the first book of the Gangsters of New York series, Bella Di Corte does not let down for one moment. Cash can be droll, funny, and lively but always with an end in sight. He wants back Hell’s Kitchen and he intends to get it no matter who it ticks off. Between getting back his family’s old territory he needs to win the heart of Keely and he isn’t above doing anything to do it.
In Marauder, Di Corte gives us combined stories of Cash trading favors with Mac (from book 1) and getting advice from the Fausti family, to get his power and his family territory back.
Like any good gangster story there are numerous stories that intertwine to give the reader what they need, the secret meetings, the police, an Irish Priest (who has quite a back story), danger, explosions and show downs.
She has given us a page-turner, an epic story and love. If you loved Book 1 you will love book 2 and you will swear when you realize you have to wait awhile for book 3, if books 1 and 2 are any indication book 3 will be explosive!
Wow, I couldn’t put book down once started. I really enjoyed seeing all the characters again. This book had some shocking moments.
I loved Cash and Keely together, they may of started out as revenge and not true feelings. But you could tell both of them were feeling something from beginning.
I can’t wait for more.
The suspense will draw you into this deeply woven world. Keely is a strong warrior woman just don’t mess with her family. Cash is a man that’ll do anything for his community. When these two get together they set Hell’s Kitchen on fire. Bella Di Corte has created a world that keeps getting better with each book.
I am truly weeping, Bella Di Corte you ave such a way with words I felt every slight every attack, every word of love, I felt it, Cashel Kelly and Keely Ryan may have known hell but heaven, who knows. I voluntarily reviewed this book.
Cash is The Marauder – he steals what he wants and he wants Keely. Keely is the Archer- her aim is true and and her arrow points at Cash. Keely and Cash were first introduced in Machiavellian. There interactions left you waiting for their story. It does not disappoint. Keely is a strong woman with a lot of backbone and sass. She stands up for herself. She is fierce and protective. She had her demons. Cash also has demons. He has a devious plan and Keely is the centerpiece. The two of them together is explosive. Once Cash claims her, it’s over. She puts up a fight but it is game over. This is a story of revenge, betrayal and romance. Well written story that will have you turning g pages late into the night.
I have a weakness for Irishmen, and Cash Kelly is perfection! Gah! I loved him and this story. Keely Kelly is quite the bad bitch herself. I absolutely love a strong heroine. If you like mafia romance, you have to read this book and series! Sooo good!
Marauder by Bella Di Corte is book Two in the Gangsters of New York Series. This is the story of Keely Ryan and Cashel “Cash” Kelly. I have read the previous book ‘Machiavellian’ which added to my enjoyment of this one. Cash and Keely’s story run at the same time as Mariposa Flores and Capo Macchiavello does, so it was nice to get a different view point of their story through other character’s eyes. But, with that said you could make it a standalone book if you really wanted too. Cash is out for revenge for the person he feels that wronged him. Instead of the kill to the body, Cash decided to go for the more painful kill of the heart by taking Keely from his enemy and making her his. Of course Cash’s planned didn’t include loosing his heart to Keely. But in the end will Keely be the one hold the most important heart of all? Loved this author’s writing and have certainly enjoyed this series. I would recommend it for sure.
Keely and Cashel “Cash” Kelly are fireworks from the first time they meet and continue on from there. Keely is Mari’s best friend from Machiavelli (recommended) and Cash is out of jail and looking for revenge against the people that hurt his family. Keely is a strong, intense woman and won’t let anyone keep her down. Cash is just the man to keep her interested and a match for her. I really enjoyed reading about this couple and look forward to the next book.
– 3.5 stars –
If you have read the first book in the series Machiavelli, then you already met the main characters of this book. Keely is Mari’s best friend and Cashel “Cash” Kelly who just spend ten years in jail is ready to take his revenge on the people who wronged his family and community. Even though this book is part of a series it can perfectly be read as a stand-alone. I really enjoyed how strong of a woman Keely was. She stood up for herself and the people she loved. Cash wants to use her to hurt someone else, but Keely doesn’t easily fall in line. I love these type of characters especially when they are up against a bit darker and broken (anti)heroes. She knew Cash is dangerous but she doesn’t let that control her. I thought she was the perfect partner for Cash.
The reason I rated this book 3.5 stars because of a lack of communication which resulted in Keely giving Cash the cold shoulder. She believed and assumed something that was said by totally untrustworthy people, I would’ve expected her to ask for a clarification from Cash. Or that Cash confronted her about it and asked her what was wrong. The lack of communication in books is one of my pet peeves, so it kind of lessened my enjoyment of the story. I loved all the action and danger the characters had to deal with. Also there were a couple of twists added to the story which I enjoyed. Marauder had a very nice flow and was easy to read. And I really love this author’s writing style. I have no idea who will be the main characters in the next book, but I look forward to reading it.
Fact- Marauder is the first book I’ve read from Bella Di Corte.
Fact- there are a lot of characters to keep straight (and at times there were so many names floating about that I didn’t).
Fact- It took me a good bit to really get into the story.
Fact- This book is gritty and raw and once I got past a certain point I didn’t want to stop reading.
Hands down my favorite thing about this book was Keely. She was strong and bold. Fearless and tender hearted. Loyal and as fiery as her hair. I loved that she didn’t hold back with Cash. The man that everyone either feared or respected (a bit of both at the same time). She didn’t back down from his threats or demands and made some of her own. But as hard as she tried she couldn’t help but fall for the broody man.
I liked Cash’s meticulousness. He was a plotter and planner and thought eight steps ahead. But what he didn’t plan on was how much Keely got to him. Got under his skin, in his head and eventually into his heart. She was his peace among all the chaos and danger. Especially as long buried secrets started to come to the surface.
It was the final third of Marauder that really kept me reading fast and furious. Things started to fall into place. I loved seeing Keely go to war with and for Cash. But it was seeing the softer side of Cash, the one reserved only for his wife, that made him human. Yes, their love was unconventional but that didn’t make it any less real or true or deep.
Marauder by Bella Di Corte. I knew this book was going to be amazing- seriously everything I have read by Bella has been nothing less than stunning. This one – took my breath away and left my heart aching for more. From page one, you get swept into the story with the attention to detail and heartfelt emotion that goes into creating this incredible piece. The one word that keeps coming to my mind is PASSION- from the author’s amazing talent to the story itself and the characters and how it all comes together. Cash and Keely have a slow burn beautiful romance that speaks volumes to my true book couple should be (handsome, smart, feisty, fierce, dedicated, loving, and deadly). “An animal was always an animal by instinct, but instead of trying to ravage my heart, my will, my stubborn nature, he was accepting me as is, because I was no longer fighting to keep what was his away from him”. Beautiful tragic love story at its best! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for their next great romance. I was graciously given an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Oh my God! Such a good read! Marauder is a second book in the Gangster of New York Series by Bella Di Corte and technically can be read as a stand-alone. But I would strongly suggest reading Machiavellian before book 2.
If you loved Mari & Mac, you will love Keely and Cash. There is so much action in this story and the further you get in to it, the better it gets!
Some things made me laugh…..
Maybe he kept his place so cold because if someone were to murder him in his sleep, he keep better.
These two started out on a rough step and I wasn’t sure how it would get smoothed out.
Kelly had shaken the snow globe that was my life, rearranging all of the pieces, and I wasn’t sure how they were going to settle around me.
There are a lot of characters you have already met in book one. The ending had me on the edge of my seat!!
And swoon-worthy moments as well….
“Keely Shea Kelly,” he said.
“Yeah?”
“I need you more than a heart needs blood.” He wrapped his hand around my wrist, applying pressure to the pulse there. “The only addiction to ever have power over me. The only soul to ever conquer my chaotic soul with complete peace.”
I love this author and have read everything she has written to date. I’ve loved them all but holy cow, this series is so amazing!! I highly recommend and cannot wait for the book 3!!
Keely Kelly had become my life. My entire life. I was addicted to her peace, to her love, to her. I was in love with the life inside of the woman. When she restarted my life, she gave me a first breath again, and I’d give her my last if it meant she lived.
First off I have to say I love the cover so freakin much and it is exactly how I picture Cash!!! Keely is a lucky girl! Anyway, I didn’t think it was possible but these books just keep getting better and better!! We find out more about the mysterious Cashel Kelly who was briefly mentioned in book 1 and what his relationship is with Keely. I have to say I liked how the author kept the scenes going from book 1 into this one. Yes it was a different perspective but it still kept you in the moment without mentioning everything that went on. You could read this book without even reading book 1 is what I’m saying. I would however read book 1 before this. I personally loved Keely! Yes she was fiercely protective of her friend but she is the type of girl who doesn’t back down. She has fire and protects the ones she loves. Sure it’s with arrows but it works. It was a blast to see the man without a heart care about someone so deeply and lovingly. It was also nice to get some answers and find out why Stone was so hell bent on pinning the murders on the gangsters. We learn a lot about Cash in this and I gotta to say that he’s my favorite so far. I can’t wait to read the next one to see what wild ride she takes on next!!
Been looking forward to this book since meeting Cash in book 1. He definitely intrigued me. Then there was Mari’s firey red head best friend, she was always going to keep anyone she tangled with on their toes.
Although you meet them in Machiavellian (definitely reccomend) this book can be read as a standalone. Your attention is grabbed from the very first page, with a challenge set to keep you thinking throughout.
Cash and Keely butt heads from the very beginning and it’s made clear it’s true what they say about red heads. Both hiding things, how long will it be before the cards are put on the table? Once the game sparks fly… From either heated banter or stray bullets… Take your pick.
Once both of them expel their ghosts, will they be able to find peace together?
Definitely reccomend this page turner of a book, the twists and turns are not to be missed! I was hooked from cover to cover and look forward to next in series.
