This is the third and final novel of the Mapwalker trilogy. In all honesty, I am still processing this book. I enjoyed this trilogy very much and would most likely be reading this again.
I enjoyed our team once again and having their development end. There were questions for us as readers and for the characters answered. I wanted more of Mila and understanding why she did what she had to do. This was a move I suspected since book 1. Maybe a spinoff with the waterwalkers? Zoe was an interesting character, and I enjoyed her and what she offered in this book. She had an interesting power, and I really hope maybe we could see her again?
This time our team is, once again, thrown into the borderlands. The reason for this is of an imbalance between the two worlds and the borders being closed are causing horrific natural disasters. I liked there being a consequence of the team’s actions and choice.
This time, they must find another way, because of the borders being closed. Because of this, they needed Zoe, a weaver fated somehow to our team. The team heads to Egypt and leads to many obstacles before getting into the borderlands. These challenges were neat and interesting. I enjoy Ancient Egypt and could visually see what was happening. Though it did not help my phobia of snakes lol.
At this moment, I am still debating if I like the ending or not. For myself, I feel the last few chapters were rushed. I felt like there should have been more before and after. I do not know if this is true, or it is that I did not want this to end. I still felt like I missed things.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I would recommend this to anyone who liked the first two and likes fantasy. This trilogy is a keeper and will be one I will read.
*I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Map of the Impossible brings J.F. Penn’s Mapwalkers trilogy to a close. This is one of those series that gets the reader very invested in the story and the characters, that being said I’m feeling a sense of loss knowing that this was the end of the series. There are stories where you know how you want the story to end and how you want your favorite characters to fare in the end. Well, sadly Map of the Impossible didn’t end the way I wanted, and my favorite character didn’t fare the way I wished, but then again the story was awesome and ended in a way that made it the best possible story to conclude the series. I received an Advance Reader Copy and chose to provide this review.
I was lucky enough to have gotten a ARC copy of this book from the author. I am volunteering to leave this review. Wow fantastic book. I raced to the end that I wanted to never reach. I am now hoping that J. F. Penn will please write more of the Mapwalker series.J.F. Penn
