Book #1 in the sexy new Manwhore series from the New York Times bestselling author of REAL. Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player–without getting played? This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest … parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.
Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.
Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.
But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.
What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?more
Meet your new addiction. A sizzling, decadent, tender love story that kept me up all night. I call dibs on Saint!
The word of the day for me to describe the first half of this book is…anticipation. It was killing me! Crazy, crazy sexual tension. I was chanting in my head, do it, do it doitdoitdoit now!!! Rachel and Malcolm are so hot together. I pretty much read this book in one sitting because I couldn’t wait to see what happens between them.
The only thing that bugged me a smidge was her friend Gina. I get that Gina was looking out for her girl, but holy hell. Gina would not stop talking about her horrible ex. Towards the ends I was like we get it, your soul was crushed but your girl is going through some crap right now, simmer down. Not all men are like your ex!
Overall, I enjoyed the crap out of this book. I need to get my hands on the next one. That was some ending!
I loved this book so much that I have both the ebook and the audiobook and I’ve read it several times. I resisted reading it in the beginning because of the title, but I’m so glad I took a chance. Katy Evans became a one-click author for me after this.
I read so many books from Katy… Malcolm is my true love… A guy who truly has everything in his palm…Billionaire… playboy..smart..yet he cant figure out the simplicity of Kate…
May I say that this is a modern day Cinderella in a way? the story is simple when two soul are falling in love.. the charm and words are sassy.. daring…the steamy moments are beyond wildest dream.. in a way, this is a story that wont be easy to forget… the world of Malcolm wont be easy to conquer but he is worth the chase 😉
OMG, this book!!!!
Let me just Malcolm Saint is everything! He is hot as sin!!!
Plus the audiobook was off the charts great!!!
Obsessive hero
I Freakin loved Malcolm Saint
This book was so good!! Prepare for the cliff hanger! Get that second book ready because you’ll want to jump on it right away like I’m going to! Malcolm and Rachel’s story was hot, sweet, deep and heartbreaking. The story was perfect and the writing was so good! I loved every minute of it! This was the first book I read by Katy Evans and I’m beyond impressed! She one that I will obsess about until I devour every last book.
Standing O for Katy Evans!
I loved this book and Malcolm Saint! The chemistry between the characters in this book was absolutely AMAZING! I could feel everything. I loved Rachel and Malcolm and all the secondary characters as well. I was very wrapped up in the whole story. It really sucked me in. There were times I wanted to scream, laugh out loud or pull one of them to the side to say WTF but I felt it and I loved it! Well done Katy Evens, well done!
I am a huge fan of Katy Evans entire Manwhore series. She does a great job with each book and I was sad to see this series come to an end.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found a new favorite author with it.
The title says it all
I’m a newbie when it comes to Katy Evans’ work and I am now a fan of this romance writer after reading Manwhore. This book title says it and drew me into the discovering what made this story. Who doesn’t like to see a rich, alpha bad boy fall for his heroine?
There is more to Malcolm Saint as Rachel Livingston soon discovers. Sent by her newspaper she goes undercover in the guise of interviewing Malcolm Saint on his new business endeavor, Interface. What will ultimately give her career a boost is reveal who this rich and powerful billionaire truly is. But as Rachel spends time with Malcolm, she finds a very decent and emotionally complicated man. Malcolm’s life is constantly scrutinized in the public eye and is wary of anyone not in his immediate circle of friends.
Needless to say, Rachel is battling with herself about writing her exposé. I love how Ms. Evans brings this romance to a slow boil. The chemistry between Rachel and Malcolm is magnetic and it sizzles. Ms. Evans brings us a well written, romantic story in Manwhore, and I’m looking forward to the next book. Will Malcolm forgive Rachel? Can Rachel earn Malcolm’s trust again?
Sometimes there comes a series that throws your entire TBR off!! manwhore is that series for me. I did not plan on reading all three books consecutively but after the ending I just HAD TO pick up the next book right away. KE’s is definitely the queen of the slow burn and high on the anticipation. Rachel is a reporter who in order to save the paper she works for takes on the assignment to write an expose on the young, sexy billionaire, Malcolm Saint. She soon realizes there’s more to the man than his public persona and finds herself way in over her head. What I liked most about this book and Malcolm & Rachel’s relationship was the normalcy of it. The lack of over the top gifts and extreme gestures was refreshing. Also, while there is plenty of sexy time, there is a huge focus on kissing which a lot of times is glossed over. Remy will always be my favorite KE character but Malcolm will definitely be my number two.
I am never disappointed when I read a novel by Katy Evans Katy Evans ! Manwhore is another 5 star read to add to my fabulous Katy Evans collection! With every page turn, I dreaded the fact that it was bringing me closer to the end!
Rachel is the perfect example of how every person is affected differently by the same or similar situation. Rachel’s father was murdered when she was a child and she grew up feeling unstable and longing for a comfortable place to land. Her mother, a painter, was forced to stop doing what she loved to get a job and support them. Her mother has also developed diabetes and between those two circumstances, she clings to goals of being able to do what she loves and to give her mother everything she felt she should have always had. By being so overly worried about her mother’s health (to a point where she is smothering her a little bit) and so desperate to provide her with luxury, she becomes overly focused on her job. When she is assigned the task of writing an expose on the most notorious bachelor in Chicago, Malcom Saint, she agrees, almost without thought.
Rachel’s attitude was a little bit frustrating to me, she didn’t stop and think about the fact that the media may have trumped up his image or the fact that people can change. That there are depths to him that make him just like everybody else. On top of all of this, one of her best friends has had her heart shattered by a man and she and Rachel have made a pact not to ever be in a situation to let a guy do that to them. So, when Rachel is confused by Malcom and his actions, and what she feels for him, her friend is like that little devil on her shoulder whispering negative things to constantly make her feel guilt and to question every moment with Saint. Her friend really made me angry. She was constantly throwing Saint’s past at Rachel and saying things such as implying that when he isn’t with her, he is off with another of his floozies. She is just so negative. And not once does she give a boost to Rachel is admitting that it’s possible that he could change for her. How insulting is that?? Her friend is afraid to put herself out there and if Rachel moves on to a relationship and love, she will be alone in her bitterness. Then of course, there is the ridiculous notion that her boss is pushing on her that this one piece would save their magazine, therefor guilting her into thinking she holds the employees jobs in her hand alone.
Rachel really has so many angles working against her that I had to give a little understanding to her confusion, doubt, and guilt. However, once she realized that Saint wasn’t at all what she thought, she should have bowed out of the piece much earlier. Honestly, the very best thing she could have done was to right to Saint and explain the situation. I would be willing to bet everything that he would have given her the right information for a great piece, without exposing too much of himself. Unfortunately, she doesn’t give in to her conscience until the last minute and by then it’s too late.
I usually prefer dual POV in a book and I would have loved if that had been the style of this book. However, being solely from Rachel’s POV makes a bigger point as to the ambiguous nature of the man they call Saint. He puts on a persona but nobody knows the real him. He is so good at playing a part, hiding his thoughts and emotions that reading him is next to impossible. So, only having Rachel’s POV adds to our concept of what she was truly facing and why she was constantly playing a guessing game. Although, he gave her some pretty strong hints and it was a little irritating to watch her ignore them or questions them. However, as I said, this was so heavily influenced by others, that I couldn’t help but see how she was lost in the swirling opinions of everyone around her. But, I’m hoping (hint hint hint!) that eventually, Katy will put out a companion book that allows us to see things from Malcom’s POV.
Malcom is an enigma. There are so many layers to him that we are constantly surprised and left guessing as to what he will say/do/feel next. One thing that seems to abundantly clear is that Rachel is changing something in him. Unexpectedly, he seems to be completely ok with this new development, rather than being freaked out and fighting it. That alone should have been a clue to Rachel that she was something special to him. He values trust and honestly above all and has a quiet capacity for love and caring that he keeps hidden but which is, in fact, huge! He’s sexy as hell, a gentleman (outside the bedroom and only sometimes in the bedroom), he’s thoughtful, charitable, etc, etc, etc. The way he pursues Rachel had me melting right off of my chair and slithering to the ground to be a puddle of want. He sets off sparks that lit the pages on fire. Together, Rachel and Malcom were fireworks that came together to cause a massive explosion and the heat was palpable coming right out of the book to surround the reader. Read this with a glass of ice and a fan!
The secondary characters add a lot to the story, especially Saint’s best friends. They are hilarious. As I mentioned, one of Rachel’s roommates ticked me off and it will take fancy footwork to get me to like her again. Her other roommate is a sweetheart though and she evened it out a little bit.
I knew this was a duology and reading the ARC meant I’d have to wait to continue their story, but never the less, I wasn’t prepared! The book ends on a cliff hanger that will have you obsessively stalking Katy for any tidbits and morsel she will throw your way about Manwhore +1. I think I may have to go back and read this book just to make the wait not so excruciating. This series will join the Real series on my re-read list. That’s the ultimate for me, if you make that list, to me, the book is truly extraordinary. This book ended up being unexpected to me, in such a fabulous way. I highly, highly recommend any and all of Katy Evans’ books. She is utterly fantastic and Manwhore is no exception. 5 standing ovation stars!
Loved this book . Malcolm was such a fabulous character. This series is on my re read list and have read it multiple times and still love it as much as I did the first time.
I loved this book. I was all in it and felt all the emotions. So invested and connected to the characters and their story. Want more. Want more Saint. Want more Rachel. Want more of Katy Evans’ writing. Because her writing is flawless and draws me in. I go on and on. I just want more….
Mr. President is one of the best books I’ve ever read.
If we had a candidate like Matthew Hamilton, I would work on his campaign. No lie. His beliefs, his love of this country and the people… unprecedented.
I love that he remains positive in the darkness that is the world surrounding him. I love that he truly believes he can change the White House and America, and I love that he inspires Americans to believe the same.
Charlotte’s love of Matthew and the country, and the change she knows he will make, *shakes my head and fights back tears* She’s selfless.
While Katy Evans had me wishing for a real life candidate like Matthew, she also had me believing in love and that it’s possible to have it all. It IS possible with a woman like Charlotte by his side… yet my heart is broken. I cried for them both. I felt personal.
This book broke my heart. I hope it’ll heal as I get to read Commander-In-Chief when it comes out next year.
Let me start by saying that I love Katy Evans and this book was a crazy ass rollercoaster.
I really liked Rachel and Malcolm a.k.a. Saint. This was a great story that almost felt a bit like How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days, but sooo much better. I sort of felt how Rachel was struggling with her feelings for Malcolm despite the fact that he was a certified manwhore. She saw that there was so much more to him than anyone knew and she was getting a front row seat. She also struggled with her mistrust of men since her father died just after she was born and her best friend getting her heart broken. I enjoyed every second of this book.
The only thing I did not like about this book was the fact that her best friend Gina was so anti-men and put her own hatred for them and projected onto Rachel. Man she is such a manhater and it got on my nerves because women should not be like that. Just because you got your heartbroken doesn’t mean no one should find love because you can’t get over it. She was such a negative entity when it came to Rachel and Malcolm’s relationship.
