Mantrum: An emotional outburst or an expression of anger by an adult man.I’ve never understood the attraction women have for an alpha male, until I meet single father, Rex Winters.Tall, chiseled, and persistent, he tries to avoid a parking ticket by asking me out to dinner. But I know men like him. He’s a repeat offender–habitually getting into trouble and always ready to sweet talk his way out … sweet talk his way out of it.
But his charm won’t work on me.
Not when he’s the reason I’m forced to attend a six-week anger management class. And especially not when I find out all six feet two inches of Rex and his two hundred pounds of sexy muscle will be joining me every single time.
It doesn’t matter how much he flirts, or how attracted to him I am. I’m the girl who enforces rules for a living and he’s the guy who breaks them.
Do opposites really attract?
I guess we’re about to find out.
This is a romantic comedy standalone

I really enjoyed reading Mantrum by Jacob Chance. It has been awhile since I have read a romance book with humor. I like Jacob’s writing style, and how he created these characters. Rex certainly has anger management issues, but we also see a different side to him. I really liked the banter and conversations between Rex and Danika. Overall, a great read.
Mantrum, the male equivalent of a tantrum; loved it. Highly recommend this story of Rex and Danika. Great characters. A classic first meeting leads to some time in anger management for both Rex and Danika. Will Danika give Rex a chance or keep him in the friend zone? Find out in Mantrum. Just love a hot alpha single dad. Cannot wait to read the next one, MANFAX.
A romantic comedy that will have you laughing out loud. I loved Rex. He was down to earth and sexy. Danika was up tight but once you got to know her she came out of her shell. I absolutely loved, loved, loved their dates.
A funny, emotional, romantic, sexy read with great characters.
If there is a single dad that will draw me right in. After reading the blurb I wanted to read this one. I’m not gonna lie I had to warm up to Rex like Danika. Rex was a little too reckless for me at first especially for being a single dad. Mantrum is a great way to explain Rex’s behavior. I loved Rex’s family. His daughter is awesome and very mature. Danika brings out the best in Rex and she makes him want to be a better person. I liked the unique dates that Rex takes Danika on. That gives him major points for me. I loved the humor. I was laughing through out the book. It’s a good book that will hold your attention.
I smiled during the whole book. I loved Rex. He was such an all around guy. I enjoyed reading this story with my morning coffee. I felt like I was reading about some of my closest friends. I can’t wait to see what Jacob Chance has in store for us next with this crew.
I must say the new year has some fantastic books coming out. Jacob Chance Mantrum set the bar high for romantic comedies for me. It was laugh out loud, snorting, waking up my dogs funny. Yes I scared them but it’s a price I had to pay. Rex oh my gawd where do I start. I floved him no matter what mantrum he was having I supported him. Sadly, I had a tad too much in common with him which made me laugh even harder. I rooted for him all the way. Danika was a great strong woman, most of the time she could keep her temper in check, but yet she was fierce at the same time in her own way. I will say one of the “therapy” techniques does really work and you do have a blast trying it out. It’s one of my favorite things to do that was mentioned in the book. In conclusion, I know I was late to the game with this one, but if you haven’t read it yet it is a must.
Mantrum is a magnificent romcom that has all of the feels and so much more. Rex is a single dad who is a little rough around the edges compared to “by the book” Danika. That timeless adage “opposites attract” has never been more true. Rex had me laughing out loud with his witty banter and I “MmmHmm’d” a whole lot at Danika’s denial. Yeah girl, you’re a goner. A fantastic book to get lost in for a few hours and be reminded that love is persistently hopeful just like Rex. Highly recommended.
Jacob Chance you have done it again
Talk about rom-com gold.
I laughed out loud so much I had tears running down my face.
Rex and Danika were a refreshing change of pace.
Couldn’t put it down
They hit you like a whirlwind… and Rex is so irresistibly swoons.
Who doesn’t love a man that’s good with his hands.
Eager to find out what happens with his brothers… as the secondary characters were just as loveable.
Bring on Manfax.
This is a fabulously funny romcom !! Danika is our lovely sweet sexy woman who is divorced and not really out looking for love. Rex is a true alpha male that is a handsome charming savvy business man that is also a single dad raising a sassy teenage daughter . He truly has his act together except for his temper! Danika and Rex meet as Danika is putting a ticket on his truck Rex not only tries to charm his way out of said ticket he also tries to get Danika to go out with him. When the bystanders cause a bit of a ruckus Rex comes to her rescue but soon finds himself in jail . They now are both required to go to the same class and the instructor finds it necessary to pair them up! They of course have that immediate attraction but now so many other factors come into play. It is now Rex’s job to show Danika that she really should give this funny, sexy, charming hard working single dad a chance !!
Loved their story !

MANTRUM was entertaining from beginning to end!!! This RomCom had so many laugh out loud moments! Rex’s emotional outbursts, aka mantrums, along with his “I own this” attitude had me reading this book from beginning to end in one sitting! I just loved reading Mantrum by Jacob Chance. It was fun and sexy and I just devoured it! Rex Winters is sexy, charming and a single father who also happens to be a bit of a hothead! Danika finds her life entangled with his after giving him a ticket and now dealing with the aftermath! Danika is smart and determined, except it seems when she is around Rex. I loved the chemistry between these two. Their journey was charming and captivating. This is a must-read!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.

Rex and Danika take you on hilarious, emotional and unique read. These two meet in the most unusual way and it only goes from there. They will pull you withbthwir back and forth and the little twist and turns you find only brings it together the more you read. Can’t wait to see what he has next.
Mantrum is such a sensational read. There were so many amazing elements to this book and I loved not only each one but how Jacob injected them all into some of his best work ever.
Jacob has earned his place as a well respected Rom Com Author. He knows how to engage his audience, the detail that goes into his characters and storyline’s is absolutely first class and one of the things I love about getting lost in his work. His books are not without witty banter, sexy smart mouthed male leads and female leads that aren’t afraid to put themselves first in the search for love.
In Mantrum we meet Rex Winters. He’s is a hothead, and a sexy one at that. He’s also a single dad to a teenage daughter. His life is hectic, although his short fuse is about to land him in a little bit of hot water by way of a parking ticket from the gorgeous Danika. She loves her life, she loves her work and she loves that all of those things are on her terms. Rex is very much interested and he’s not afraid to put in the effort and dial up the banter and charm to let her know. I enjoyed their story and their challenges.
This is a highly recommended read for 2020. If you’ve never taken a chance on reading this author then is the perfect place to start, you will very quickly become addicted.
This slow burn romance will have you hooked and needing to read it all now. It’s well written and has humor like most of JC’s books.
What happens when a simple parking ticket turns into a scene worthy of YouTube? Anger management classes, that’s what happens. All because the recipient, of said parking ticket, is hot, protective and focused on you so much you become so flustered that you lose your cool. As the officer writing the ticket, Danika now has to answer for her actions. She shouldn’t be surprised when she sees Rex at the anger management classes she’s been forced to attend. As expected, Rex isn’t shy about wanting to get to know Danika. Rex is serious though about the class. Numerous run ins with the law and raising a teenager helps put things into perspective. When things got out of hand regarding his parking ticket, he soon realized this was the best way to get a handle on his anger. Danika just wants this chapter in her life over and done. Their friendship develops organically. Slow and sure. Rex is interested in all things Danika, including spending more time with her and learning all about her past. Danika is a little more reluctant. It’s going to take a lot of persistence on his behalf to get past her cool exterior to become more than just friends.
I really loved this story. The character interaction was emotional and funny. The secondary characters were a bonus as well. I’d love to read stories involving them also.
Great storyline with lots of substance. I highly recommend this book !
Hilariously Funny and Captivating
I found Mantrum hilariously funny and captivating. Rex is one sexy, rugged, bad boy, with a habit for losing his temper. Danika is a woman who is drawn to this bad boy as he seeks to find redemption. Together Rex and Danika find a way to help each other in this great Romantic Comedy.
Jacob Chance has such a way with words, as he is able to draw you into a world and make you can feel like you know all these characters as one of your own friends or loved ones. This is one delicious adventure you definitely will want to be taken on, so dive right in a take a bite of this appetizing story. I know I enjoyed this mouthwatering slow burn, and I think you will too.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Jacob Chance is one of my top favorite authors. I have read almost all of his work, with a couple left on my TBR list, and he does not disappoint. This Rom-Com is everything you expect from Jacob and so much more.
Mantrum: An emotional outburst or an expression of anger by an adult man.
When I first heard about this book, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I am so glad that I went into it with no expectations because it blew me out of the water. Mantrum focuses on the story of Rex and Danika. Rex is the quintessential definition of a man’s man, but he also has anger issues. As a single father, he knows he has to rein that temper in. When he first meets Danika, he presses all the wrong buttons. Lucky for Rex, they end up in anger management classes together. Danika is put together, a career driven woman, who knows what she wants. When Rex throws her off her game and sends her path off-kilter, it’s all she can do but stay out his way. But fate has other ideas.
The banter they have and the chemistry between them is off the charts. From the moment they meet, the sparks are flying between them. But in true rom-com fashion, the story just can’t stop at sparks. I absolutely adore everything about them and how they come together. Rex’s charm is sweet and heart melting. I love his tenderness so much!
All in all, Mantrum is a fun, sweet read that will have you smiling and laughing the entire way through. I can’t wait to see if the brothers get their own books because I can already tell Adam is about to meet his match for sure.
5 amazing stars for this read! Grab it now!
Just when I think Jacob can’t possibly surprise me, he does. He’s romantic suspense series kept me on edge, his contemporary work was heartwarming and genuine and his romcoms are a perfect mixture of fun, zany and real life situations. And boy oh boy does Mantrum fit the romcom bill. In spots I laughed until I thought I’d cry and in other I smiled at the tender/emotional times.
Mantrum equals the equivalent of a man throwing a fit. Boy oh boy does Rex Winters have the mantrum’s down pat. As a result, he ends up in Anger Management Class, AGAIN. Only this time he’s there with Danika, Parking Enforcement Officer who is the reason for his latest outburst. From here the story takes off on an exciting, funny and heartwarming journey.
I loved all the characters both main and secondary. They all are people we have in our everyday life and the events, yep, I can just about see all of them happening in real life too. In fact, I hope the author continues with these down to earth folks. I’d love to see books with Daniak’s two besties and Rex’s 3 brothers. I mean these folks are just toooooo funny.
2 Thumb Up and 5 Stars
MANTRUM was the perfect read for the escape I needed! Funny, low drama/angst, and so much love! I loved Rex & Danika’s banter and their chemistry couldn’t have been described any more perfectly! An awesome read to start your new year right!
