Ali Jones liked to think she could do it all, but being a single mom had started taking a toll on her. Something had to give. Calling the nanny service, Helping Hands, was the first step, but instead of getting a nanny, they sent her a hot as sin manny with abs she could wash her clothes on.Zach Thomas wasn’t the kind of man who squelched on a bet. That’s why he would swallow his pride, hang up … pride, hang up his construction belt, and be a manny for a week. He ran a successful business where his crews knew he was boss. He figured it wouldn’t be hard to get the hot new mom to follow directions too.
Ali could tell that Zach didn’t have a clue, but when she realized the attraction she felt wasn’t one sided, she threw caution to the wind. It didn’t matter if he couldn’t vacuum to save his life, he was great at messing up the sheets.
She wasn’t looking for anything permanent, so what was the harm in having a little fling with the manny?
Warning: This book contains an over the top story of a single mom, a contractor turned manny, and his huge ahem aptly named Big John. There are also balls…bowling balls.

Short story. The characters experience instant lust and love on their first meeting . Very steamy. Happily ever after ending .
I loved this story. The characters were perfectly defined, the story was humorous and light, yet with enough depth to be taken seriously. While the premise was good, the story moved terribly fast, but then again, it was a very short story. With not enough pages to go into detail, the point was made and the happily ever after was reached. I’m looking forward to more in this series.
Holy crap, y’all…I did a dumb thing.
I didn’t read the blurb. I saw the title, read a little snippet on Facebook, I think, and downloaded. I thought, oh, how cool! A book about a man who chooses to care for children all day! But that’s not what I got. Oh, no…that’s not what I got.
So, had I read the blurb, I would’ve noticed that Zach, the hero, is not a child care professional, but a construction company owner who thinks he can get the “hot new mom to follow directions too” and is only doing so because he lost a bet.
Had I read the blurb, I would’ve noticed that Ali, the heroine, kept Zach employed and let him be around her child even though, “he couldn’t vacuum to save his life” because “he was great at messing up the sheets.”
But, since I didn’t read the blurb, I went in blind and read on in mute horror as Ali first meets Zach, when he shows up TO WATCH HER CHILD for the first time, and touches her face, saying, “You’re fucking gorgeous.” And when she dismisses him, telling him he’d been inappropriate, he blows her off, repositions his dick (which he calls, “Big John”…more on that later) gives her his “Zach Attack Look” (not even making that up) and tells her “But don’t think this means you and I are done.”
I’m not even sure where to start with all the crap I find wrong with that, but here it goes:
1. First of all, Ali did absolutely ZERO research about the company she hired this guy from, and didn’t even ask to see ID before welcoming him into her home. I’m guessing she trusts him because he’s hot? Because hey, everyone knows hot guys aren’t serial killers or rapists, right? (*rolling eyes so hard I might have pulled a muscle*)
2. If a guy you’ve just hired immediately sexually harasses you, you should probably ask him to leave. Just a thought, Ali.
3. The owner of the nanny agency is willing to send in his buddy ON A BET to care for children? What an irresponsible asshole!
4. Zach is willing to pretend to be a licensed child care professional because he lost a bet? What an irresponsible asshole!
5. Ali is willing to let a guy who is clearly unqualified be in the same house as her baby? What an irresponsible asshole! (Anyone else sensing a pattern here?)
6. Why is it that men are so often portrayed as idiots when it comes to caring for little humans and doing simple household chores such as vacuuming? Women aren’t somehow genetically predisposed to being good at house cleaning. Men can do it, too. It’s frankly insulting to insinuate that a guy who runs his own successful business is too stupid to work a vacuum cleaner. Is the author insinuating that vacuuming is “woman’s work” that a stud like Zach couldn’t possibly be bothered with learning how to do? Gross.
7. He calls his penis “Big John.” I thought that point should be reiterated. Ladies, if you ever meet a man who has named his penis “Big John”…RUN!!!
So, long-story-short, I hate the hero, I hate the heroine, and I feel bad for the fictional baby in the story and wish I could call fictional CPS on her behalf because clearly her mother is more interested in getting laid than she is in keeping her baby safe.
And, as God as my witness, I will never ignore a book blurb again…

Ali is a single mother who is having trouble balancing all the responsibilities she carries so she decides a nanny to help out at home is the perfect solution, but she was wasn’t expecting the sexy manny at her door.
Zach is much more comfortable with construction than kids, but a bet is a bet. When he meets his new employer, he realizes that losing that best could be the best thing to ever happen to him.
Humor, heat and a whole lot of fun as they decide to combine work and play.
Short and Spicy! Manny for hire is a quick light read. Not much character development, but plenty of heat between H/h. Zach most definitely Alpha Male and insta-love makes for endearing story.
I loved this Manny romance!! It was fun to read and I really enjoyed it! It was steamy and the characters Ali and Zach were great! I would highly recommend it and cannot wait to read about the other Mannys!!
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the first in the series. It by 2 authors that are writing together under a pen name. Let me tell you it is awesome! You will laugh out loud while reading. Might even get funny lpoks because you laugh so hard you snort!! I know i did. It’s a quck steamy, hilarious rom-com. I cant wait to see what else they come up with!!
Dezi Dixon is a new author for me, but i liked the sound of the story so took a chance. I am so glad i did. When I started reading this book I wasn’t sure that I liked Zach and his friends. But that opinion changed pretty quick. He ended up being a pretty awesome book boyfriend. For me, i like a book i can really get into and almost see it as i read it. This author didn’t disappoint. I can’t say how the grammer or punctuation was because i dont care about that if i get into the story as i did with this. If you like an easy, fun and sexy read this book is for you.
Oh I totally loved this book. A single mom at her wit’s end raising a daughter all by herself. Her friend suggests a nanny but they are all booked. They suggest a manny instead of a nanny, what a comical book that kept me laughing so much. I also enjoyed the hot steamy parts too. Ali and Zach what a great couple exactly what Ali needed a man that stepped up to the plate for not only her but for her daughter Jackie. Page turner from the beginning, I hated to see this book end and it left me definitely wanting more. Thank you.
This is a quick, hot read. Absolutely enjoyable read.
