Loved this story. Characters were very realistic and I was routing for them. I read it in a 24 hour period – couldn’t wait to find out how it ended.
Great read!
This one hooked me from the first sentences and kept my attention until the very end. Great story and characters develop along the way instead of being told everything in the first paragraph. I’m going to read this one again. And again.
I found both of the main characters to be very likable. another plus is the story line was not the typical plot. This book has suspense, romance, and one sexy scene. The part of the story that change my rating from a 4 to 3 was when the heroine’s daughter become part of Mr. Barstow’s evil plan. I don’t like it when authors put children in the violent scenes.
I loved this book. Kept moving throughout the whole story.
Good story but let down by description of H & H
Easy , light reading but with a suspenseful plot. I always like happy endings!
love Ann Voss Peterson’s books
It was good fast pace & kept your interest.
Came to an end to soon. Would have liked more chase, but nice storyline and characters I wanted to know more about
very good book, felt like you knew the characters, kept your attention..
Something like this could really happen. A woman, running for her life stows away in the back of a ranchers pickup. She’s trying to get away from her boss who wants to kill her. She is able to convince the rancher that her story is true and that into motion all the nerve-wracking events that follow as they try stay one step ahead of those pursuing them. A good book.
A retired and disgraced cop looking for silence and no excitement; a young single mom expecting a promotion as an accountant and her boss on a hunting trip. What was supposed to be a hunting trip in the Rocky Mountains turns into a horror adventure as unexpected circumstances force Jace, the retired cop, to take a leap of faith and help the scared Shannon he catches trying to steal his SUV. Not knowing who to trust and where to look, the couple race against time and the elements to unearth why Shannon is in danger, and Jace sees an opportunity for revenge. Corruption and law enforcement are convinced they are looking for a murderer, making everything they do an opportunity for discovery. The books on this series are all standalone.
Take note that what I am about to say does not take away the pure pleasure it was to read this book. Some days we just need to read something predictable to make us feel good.
This is a fast-paced thriller that gets you running from the get-go. The characters are well rounded and believable. The rugged terrain of Wyoming forms the ideal background for a hunting and evading plot. The mystery is well kept and slowly unravelled and gets your heart racing. The recipe is the same as in most romantic suspense books; Girl is in trouble but does not know why; Guy has been through trauma and wants only to be left alone until inevitably comes across said girl. People try to kill them, which forces them closer together. In the end, the bad guys are stopped, and there is a happy ending.
Hard to put down
Great plot. The hero is upstanding guy but didn’t give her any quarter at first. Lots of crooked characters. Very enjoyable.
Instinctual trust vs. learned mistrust. Just actions vs. legalities. Expectations based on money vs. expectations based on what is right. What is right in front of us that WE do not see?
I loved the action, mystery, and edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. The characters were very vivid, strong, some ruthless, and some kind and fearless. A mother’s love was shown to be strong, courageous, and never ending. I recommend this book!
A great book that was hard to put down!
I was hooked from the very first pages.
I could not put the book down since it was so action packed.
Intense storyline that kept you hanging on!
