I WAS HIS TARGETever since I stepped into La Casa Rossa.I never expected Dominic Dragna. He’s not a hero. He’s no prince charming. He’s the villain in any happily ever after story you’ve ever read.VILLAINS NEED LOVE TOO … right? And I’m the woman strong enough to give it to him.A stripper falling for her brooding boss. It’s almost comical if he didn’t tie me in heated knots.Only, he’s so much more … comical if he didn’t tie me in heated knots.
Only, he’s so much more than my boss.
Something I could not have envisaged.
I’m quickly entangled in his dangerous world.
Dominic is a man like no other, with close ties to the mob and a heart that beats for me.
Perfection is for other couples.
Daring. Immoral. Powerful.
A good girl might want a gentleman.
I’ll take the untouchable hitman who owns me heart and soul.
He’s not without peril.
Because I took one look at that man and
TARGETED HIM BACK AS MINE.
Complete standalone romance with some familiar faces thrown in from previous books.

Dominic owns a strip club where Gabriella has been dancing for a couple of years. He’s also a hitman using the club as a legit business. There are rumors about him but Gabriella finds herself attracted to him. Dominic is always looking at her with heat in those blue eyes but he doesn’t cross the line. A dangerous relationship that both want and need will take them places they never thought they would go. This was such a sexy good read and you get to catch up with others from the series.
Manhattan Target blew me away. It felt slightly different to the other books in the Manhattan series and yet, still like I was coming home.
Dominic Dragna oozes danger, passion and that heady addiction to know more about them that Italian men in every story should have. I loved his conflicted thoughts over what he should do and what his every other instinct was telling him to do when it came to the ’Target’ his heart, body and soul knew was its missing piece in Gabby – even from a third into the book, I could hear my inner voice screaming for him to make her his Happy Ever After.
As always, V. Theia delivers that HEA we all long for in our lives – Dragna sure isn’t a Disney Prince and Gabby is far from the Princess we grow up hearing stories about but they are truly magical. I honestly don’t know how the author continuously does it whether it be the residents of Manhattan or the Biker boys we look forward to encountering on a dusty road, but you as the reader find yourself immersed in their world and missing it when the final page means no more words to read..
What I do know is when it comes to the hitman and his honey? I want more of the years after – there must be more tales to tell. If not; I’m sure to keep an eye out for their faces when I return to Manhattan and it’s own amazing mix of people whose stories are so good you always, always want more.
This book will grip you from the very first page. Dom and Gabby are hot and explosive. The dangerous twists will keep you guessing. Dom is the kind of man every woman wants but won’t admit. Gabby has to figure out what she can accept in life and what she can’t. This is one of my favorite Manhattan books. A DO NOT MISS book!
If you’re looking for a steamy story where you get to root for the “bad” guy, look no further…because This. Is. It. Dom is the perfect embodiment of an antihero – a villain to those who cross him, but a dream lover for the one who captures his heart. And, boy, did Gabriella do that! In the simplest of terms, Dom is a hitman and Gabby is an exotic dancer. Typical mafia-type romance stuff, right? WRONG! So so wrong! Dom is head over platform stilettoed heels for Gabby and she tries to fight their attraction from the very beginning, but their paths become too intertwined for their own good. Suddenly, you’re so invested in these characters and you just don’t know what’s going to happen to these two and you have to keep turning the pages until you find out. I’m a serial fan of the author, so I may be biased here, but what I love most about this author’s writing is the precise detail that goes into every scene of every book. Case in point – the description of Dom taking off Gabby’s heels the first time she visits his home is SO DARN SEXY! I also love the ability of this author to intermingle all her characters together, so you’ll never know who will pop up but you can be assured some of your favorites in her world will make a cameo appearance. Basically, this book has everything…romance, desire, suspense, action…you want it, it’s in there. This is a 5 star read for sure!
Dominic Dragna. He’s a dangerous hitman. No heart. No soul. Ruthless. Yet a spark of insatiable lust has put Gabriella in his sight. Does she become his next prey? Is she like a moth that can’t turn away from the flame? She feels both fear and a deep wanton desire whenever he’s near. She knows she should stay away but she needs this job.
This compelling standalone story in the Manhattan series just completely consumed me from the very first page. Their arousing chemistry, their anticipation and also trepidation of each other held me captive. I loved seeing characters from previous books included into this one.
Dominic Dragna! Oh, my! *Fans self*
This man. I thought I’d met my Manhattan match in this world then V Theia went and threw Mr Dragna into the pile and I am done! I mean, we all want a man who kills for a living, don’t we? Just me? Well, ok. That’s fine, I’ll keep him all for myself.
This book has a different feel to the rest of the series. Some, but not all, of the light-heartedness has been replaced with a more gritty storyline and it really appealed to my darker side. The chemistry between the characters is sizzling and you can’t help but fall for them both. Our heroine gives as good as she gets, this is not a kept woman!
Should you read this book? Absolutely!
Should you keep your hands off the Dragna? You know it!
“She’s been my saint and salvation, my joy and pleasure. She’s in every inch of my being.”
I love this author. Her storyline and characters are always amazing. This story felt different but in a good way. Theia’s heroes are always alpha, and Dominic is no exception. He is a hitman, and therefore very dangerous. Gabriella is a girl working as a dancer on a club owned by Dominic. Gabby has always had a crush on her boss. Their chemistry was amazing. I loved them together and the way he loved her. His dark soul loved her so sweet. And the epilogue!
This can be read as a standalone. But I really recommend the other books in this series. I love these girls so much and their men are swoon worthy. They all have very interesting stories.
Oh, my heart Dominic stole my heart so fast and way too fast. I have said that time and time again that I LOVE angst. Give me two people who fall for each other and can’t be together for a bit and you have one happy Amber. I love the push and pull. I could honestly go on about that aspect of this story all day long. But I will refrain from doing so. But I do have a new book boyfriend and he is a rough and tough hitman with softness for one girl. *I want to be Gabby*
This book. This freaking book had me glued to it from the first page and basically never let go. The chemistry between Dom and Gabby was electric, all consuming, and just irresistible. Dom is a contract killer who owns a gentlemen’s club as part of his legitimate business and Gabby has been a dancer at his club for the last 4 years. Despite their instant attraction all those years ago, they have only shared one incendiary kiss a year prior to where the story begins. Once they do give in, the relationship is explosive and a joy to read.
There are so many times where the hero of the book is just *everything* and the heroine falls flat for me. I was thrilled to find V Theia as she has a way of writing heroes that are completely swoon-worthy, but more importantly, heroines that are smart, capable, funny, and just women that I would want to hang out and be friends with. Heck, as this book is set in her ‘Manhattan’ series, and Gabby’s girl gang includes Sena, India and Catie from prior books (and if you haven’t read those yet, you really need to because they are excellent), I would adore being friends with ALL of them.
The action of the plot was well written, and I never felt that it was superfluous or overshadowing the relationship. It provided the right balance of tension and conflict, and although there is some suspension of disbelief required, the payoff was well worth it.
I received an ARC in exchange for an unbiased review, but I honestly? I would highly highly HIGHLY recommend this book even if I bought this at full price because I NEED this in my re-read library.

I am a lover of the Manhattan books and this one just proves why. It has it all! Intrigue, danger, lust and most possibly love. Dominic Dragna is a man whose job is most definitely dangerous, but when Gabriella meets him she has no idea how dangerous he really is. All she knows is he is her boss and she is deeply attracted to him. He is perfectly described as handsome but I think based on what I just read, he is so much more than that. Gabby and Dom belong together. I feel it in my very heart and soul. These two would literally die for each other. When Gabby finds out who he truly is, can she overlook it? Is her love for him so strong that nothing can tear them apart? Dominic will move Heaven and Earth for Gabby, so can he prove to her that he is the one she needs to be with for life? You will have to read this phenomenal story to find out. And the way this author sprinkles so much throughout this story just proves why I love her books. Yet again I fell in love with her characters and can’t even describe how perfect this book is. Pure brilliance!
4.5 stars
There is a reason that this author is one of my favorites. it doesn’t matter if she is writing MC or contemporary, she draws me in. Her characters are always vibrant and unique. There is a certain charisma to them that I adore.
When I started this book, I was a little unsure which is weird for me because, as I mentioned she has never let me down, but the start of this one felt different. Her writing style felt different too. However, I need not have been worried because i quickly fell into the groove that has me lost in all her words. Dominic is different then many of her leading men, especially in this series. Even though he is a hitman, I couldn’t help but fall in love with him. Especially, when I see how he feels about Gabby. if the way he felt about her was any indication of what love should be like it is no wonder that my marriage didn’t last despite the fact that I had married my best friend. The lengths he went to prove or show what she meant to him was everything. And the same could be said for Gabby. The trust and acceptance proved that the heart wants what the heart wants.
This is a standalone in this series but I still would recommend reading the other stories because these characters are amazing in their own right. It would be a shame to miss them and the friendships that created this amazing series. Plus, that epilogue? Yeah, read the story because even though it is amazing without having read the previous stories it will really hit home and be even more special.
So love this story
Manhattan Target hit the bullseye of my heart. It takes us back into the Manhattan World and we get to meet the hitman with a heart. Of course, his heart only beats for his Gabriella.
Let’s see if we can find some similarities between a hitman and a man in love.
HITMAN:
1. Patient- waits for the exact right moment
2. Stealthy- quietly sneaks up on you and bam
3. Prideful- takes pride in a job accomplished
MAN IN LOVE:
1. Patient- 4 years of waiting
2. Stealthy- 1 burning kiss and then over a year later, bam
3. Prideful- he takes pride in all his woman has accomplished on her own and doesn’t try and change her
The love story of Dominic and Gabriella was a scorching hot joy to watch unfold. The thing I enjoy the most about this authors writing is she takes sensual up about 1000 notches and also she lets these tough alpha men fall hard in love and become vulnerable, yet not weak with their women.
I think this line in the book does such an incredible job of wrapping up this story and all the deliciousness within the pages….. “Love slides into the empty parts when least expected”.
I highly recommend Manhattan Target. This book is a complete standalone, but all the books in the Manhattan World are gold and keep building and fortifying the relationships found within the pages.
HOLY HITMAN!! This book is so good, I can’t even explain how good it is. This is absolute must read!!! I mean a hitman meets a stripper?! What’s not the love. The writing is on point, the characters are rich and the story just draws you in. I literally could not put this book down.
I really enjoyed this story. Dominic was really at his best when he was with Gabriella. The way these two loved one another was so good. My feelings were all over the place.
V. Theia is an outstanding storyteller and never disappoints with what I long for in a romance. The story is crafted magnificently and the writing is glittering and delicious and downright sexy as hell in places. The storytelling is enthralling as ever, I think one of my faves so far and flows effortlessly, I never wanted it to stop, I wanted to be in Dom and Gabby’s world forever because these two caused some major heat between them, that sexy push and pull, oh and the longing.
I love when characters fall for each other but can’t be together right away, so they pine and they WAIT. Dominic is a well feared and high powered man, with mafia connections, he’s a well-paid hitman and has it all, but he waits for his dancer to be ready for him. There were plot twists that I didn’t see coming and the story had me glued to the pages.
I felt such a strong connection to the characters in this book. They were so relatable and easy to fall for. I never in my wildest dreams thought for a second that a hitman could fit into this contemporary series amongst characters I’ve grown to love, but Dominic Dragna really did. He’s a bad boy with a soft center for one woman.
The characters were full of depth and the character development was amazing. I absolutely loved the cast of secondary characters in this book and the epilogue has me wildly excited for the next generation. I really hope that we get to see more of them in the series.
Dominic and Gabriella’s love story is a,slow burn that will satisfy you in the end. Dominic is a hit man with a heart of gold and Gabriella is the the dancer who fell for him. It wouldn’t be a Manhattan story without all the key players from previous books. I’m ready to read book seven.
I received a free copy of this book.
I adore this series and all of the people in it.
Hitman/club owner Dominic has known Gabby is it for him from their first meeting, he has just been biding his time (years!) waiting for her to come around. Dom and Gabby are a great couple, even when she makes life hard for him by not thinking about the consequences of her actions. The second part of the epilogue—oh my heart! Dom really is everything!
Manhattan Target By V Theia
Rating *****
Book 6/?
Wow where do I begin with this book? I guess at the beginning, at first when I read it I thought that I was not going to get my HEA that V Theia is always very good at making happen in a book but the beginning I was like if this is the first book that does not have this I will be fuming.
Dominic is a hitman who could potentially be part of the Mafia he works closely with a few of them, but beneath the cool exterior he is a soft man at heart, or he is for one woman. His woman which all of the characters are even if you look at them and think this man is never going to be loveable, he is always protective of his woman.
Gabby is a dancer at Dominic’s club and has a huge crush on ‘Mafia man’ as she calls him. She is an intelligent woman who has fallen on circumstances that she did not need or want. There are times when you want to shout at her not to listen to others and time you think she will put Dominic into his grave, but she keeps him on his toes as he does her.
I always love going back into Manhattan and if you have read them you will see glimpses of all of the couples that we have fell in love with, but you do not have to have read them to enjoy this, if needs me you can start with this and then go back as each book is standalone but there all make cameos in other books.
As always, I am in awe of the world that V had created and the intricate Easter eggs that she litters throughout the book for readers of both her series. I cannot wait for Sage’s book (I think this is the next one in Manhattan) and of course biker 8 this author as soon as a new book appears here is a one click or want to read ready to devour more words and of course fall in love with another biker or Manhattan man
