Three years after Octavia met her caveman, Matt Hansen and fell in love, life has fallen into a good rhythm. Matt and his brother Kaden have opened their own car repair shop – Mancave – and Octavia is expecting her first child. But not everything is perfect in paradise. Mary, Matt’s young daughter, is acting up, Kaden is upset over something he won’t talk about, and Evan, Matt’s best buddy from … buddy from the days he lived in Destiny, when he met Octavia, is in trouble and needs help. Add to that the fact Octavia wants to save her half-brother Ross, and the trip to Destiny turns out more complicated than it was supposed to be.
Octavia is determined to make sure everyone around her is as happy as she is. And Matt is determined to keep his happy ending with her.
Together they will find a way.
* This is the epilogue to CAVEMAN – novel-length book. NOT a standalone *

When I got this I was a little worried as it is a sequel and I have not read Caveman, as I thought I was not going to be able to understand what was going on or who all the people in the story were and how they were connected to Matt and Octavia. But Jo has done a fantastic job with this story. If I had a chance to read Caveman before hand I would have but at the same time it is not necessary.
Now in regards to this book. WOW! This book will have you wanting more. It will have you going through many emotions, it’ll have you feeling jealous of the relationship between Matt and Octavia, love, happiness, anger, fear and relief.
Matt is still dealing with the anxiety he got after his late wife dies. But with the love of Octavia and his kids Emma and Cole he is able to get through the darkness that comes over him. Matt wants to make sure everyone he loves are safe and protected, but with Octavia being pregnant he’s protectiveness goes into over drive, especially when Matt and Tati go back to Destiny to help Evan out after his accident.
Well done Jo and I look forward to reading Gigi, Evan and Merc’s stories in the future xx
I’ve loved this little series so much! I was so excited we got to see a little more of Octavia and Matt. These two are so special!
I love seeing these two so happy, because they are such amazing people. Matt is amazing for going and helping Evan, and even though it didn’t go as planned, Tati had the best intentions with her situation. I feel like I definitely got some closure with their story in this book. I now know how well they are all doing and how they’ve grown as a family. I can’t wait to see how everyone is with the baby in the next persons book!
Tay and Matt are back stronger than ever proving that HEA they fought hard for was built to last. The years have blessed the Hansen’s with a strong marriage and a baby on the way, as well the continued health and growth of Mary and Cole. Their little unit is happy and prospering, albeit with some growing pains. When Matt gets a call from Evan his old pal back in Destiny needing a helping hand after an accident, him and Tay are headed back down memory lane. Tay, having wanted to return home to lay to rest old family drama, knows this trip won’t be all errands and nursing. A lovely reintroduction to the crew as well as some foreshadowing for what lies ahead, this is a catch-up book not to be missed.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.
Wow what another amazing read that will keep you hooked to the pages. This book is the second in this series. I will want to read the first book. As I will be more in tune with the series. As this book takes place 2yrs after the first book. This book is amazing read and so loving this series so far. Jo Raven writing style is amazing and will worth reading her book. As she brings the emotional feeling of the pages.
Like always, I love Jo Raven’s writing and her newest book, Mancave is no exception. I enjoyed catching up with one of my favorite brooding heroes–Matt, and his sweet wife, Octavia AKA Tay. Two years later, Matt and Octavia are still heating up the sheets! I also think it’s amazing how dedicated these two are to each other’s families. Matt’s kids continue to steal my heart, and it wasn’t too hard to figure out what little Mary’s concerns were with Octavia’s present condition. Hearing her finally break down and voice that concern– just about ripped my heart out.
Raven gives Matt’s friend, Evan a real backstory, so I look forward to seeing how everything plays out for him in his own book. I’m not completely sold on Ross though. For me, he has a long way to go. No matter how hard I’ve tried to view things from Octavia’s stance on family, or understand her dreams, Ross hasn’t found his way into my heart . . . yet. I look forward to Ms. Raven working her book magic that will have me falling for Ross.
5 Stars to Mancave by Jo Raven.
First thing you need to know about this book is that it is not a standalone. Mancave is the extended epilogue to Caveman. Also, this book loosely ties into Jo’s Inked Brotherhood series being that the hero here is Matt Hansen who is Zane’s step brother-in-law. Long, sad, and intense story there. You absolutely don’t have to read that series to follow Caveman or Mancave however if you are a junkies for sexy, inked tortured heroes, than Inked Brotherhood is a series you won’t want to miss.
Since this book is the epilogue you already know our couple, Octavia and Matt have had a happy ending. From this point on in this review, if you haven’t yet read Caveman, I suggest you stop reading here as there may be things that spoil that book for you…..
Matt and Octavia have a love that just keeps growing with every moment they are together. Matt is intensely possessive and protective of his family. Since meeting and falling in love with Octavia, Matt’s family dynamic has grown extending to Octavia’s family. In addition, they are expecting a baby of their own. While Matt and Octavia are solid in their relationship, their family and even close friends are going through some issues that are heartbreaking and worrisome. Both Octavia and Matt literally set out to fix everyone’s problems. While doing so, they grow even closer, their love stronger, if that is even possible. Some issues they try to fix can be solved but toners need more time.
As the book continues, we watch how Matt and Octavia handle certain situations with their loved-ones. And at the same time, Jo Raven teases us with what will certainly be more books. There are at least 4 more books coming from this series. In addition, if you want to read about Matt’s brother Kaden and his bumpy road to happily-ever-after, check out his story which is told in Trouble Maker & Undone.
I have read every book from this author. I am a huge fan and have been one since she released her debut book, Asher which is the first book of the Inked Brotherhood. The series that started it all!
Jo Raven is that author that gives us intense and complex characters. Her heroes will break your heart over and over while her great talent for storytelling heals them before your eyes. Her heroines are the perfect match for those tortured boys. In addition, Jo is not afraid to show us that torture, which is why these boys are hurting so badly. You will cry. You will be shocked. You will be relieved and so happy with her HEAs because they are beyond deserved. So if you haven’t yet checked out this author, I highly recommend you do. If you have then you know exactly what I’m talking about.
This is my heartfelt, honest review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. I hope you will love Jo’s books as much as I do.
This book was Amazing! What a follow up story after Caveman, Jo keeps you engaged through the story making you want more after the book is finished. When you think about the characters after you have finished you know the book has truly touched you. Fantastic read!!
This author is a favorite of mine and also a one-click for me. It’s best to read Caveman before you read this one so you will understand the characters more and will get the storyline better. It definitely was a good follow-up and answered more of the questions I still had.
Octavia and Matt have been married for a while and now with a baby on the way, they have everything they want. Being together and having a family with the Matt’s kids. When they return to Octavia’s hometown to help out a friend, the past lurks over them.
Will they finally get the closure they need fo finally move on?..
Love love love it. HIGHLY STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!!
“My husband. My man. My everything.”
Jo Raven has done it again. She takes you on a journey that will leave you satisfied yet wanting more at the same time. I absolutely love these characters. I love how Jo has woven some past characters into this storyline. However don’t be worried if you haven’t read other series by Jo Raven she does it in a way that you won’t feel like you’ve missed anything…yet if you have meet the characters before it just enhances the feel goods in you.
“You’re still way too coherent,” he growls, and looks up at me, dark eyes flashing with amusement and arousal. “Clearly, I need to up my game.”
This book will have you feeling so many emotions…love, jealousy, fear, redemption, friendship, peace, protective, uneasiness and acceptance. You also can’t miss the chemistry zipping throughout the entire book *fans self*.
“I’ll save my time and energy for those who love me, those who earned a place in my heart.”
