Ali Reynolds returns in this suspenseful thriller featuring New York Times bestselling author J.A. Jance’s signature “fast pacing, surprising plot twists, and a strong, principled heroine” (Booklist).Cybersecurity expert Roger McGeary finally has his life back on track after years of struggling with depression. But when he falls from the balcony of his suite on an all-expenses-paid cruise, the … all-expenses-paid cruise, the police quickly dismiss it as an accident. Unsatisfied, Roger’s tough-as-nails aunt, Julia Miller, is determined to find answers and closure. By contacting Roger’s childhood friend Stuart Ramey to help her solve the mystery of his fate, Julia unwittingly sets up a collision course with a serial killer.
Stuart, his sidekick Cami Lee, and journalist-turned-amateur-sleuth Ali Reynolds put the full resources of cutting edge online security firm High Noon Enterprises into learning the truth about Roger’s death. With Cami on the high seas investigating the ship from which Roger disappeared, Stuart stays tied to his computer, locked in a battle of wits and technology against an unusually twisted adversary. When the heartless killer sets sights on Stuart, High Noon must race against time to save him and countless others.

Good mystery keeps you guessing and very different plot
great concept in these times. I like the way she is going in a new direction of bad guys.
J. A. Janice writes wonderful books. I’ve been reading them for years. I especially love her books centered in Arizona.
Nail Biting suspense pulls you through this well crafted book filled with very descriptive characters against an Arizona backdrop.
I am sad to Leland go but I am sure his replacement will work out fine.
Even though this was part of a series it was perfectly enjoyable as a stand-alone book. I did enjoy the characters and the plot, however I think some of the character development would have been developed in some of the previous books of the series. That being said it was very enjoyable. I do recommend this book
Love all her books
Hard to see how this murder was done.
love her books
Good, but not tye best of her books.
One of my favorite authors
I enjoyed being back in Ali’s world again, it was a clever division of labor between investigators on the ship and back in the desert.
Great for a rainy afternoon
Outstanding reading as usual from J J Jance.
Really different for JA Jance but really keeps you turning the pages,
Keeps you from sleeping
below her usual standard
I kiddingly say I’m afraid that Echo or another device might decide to run my life….but in this mystery, malware and artificial intelligence are definitely scary!
Ali takes a secondary role in this series as Stuart, computer geek, and Cami, younger, pretty but computer savy take over the mystery. An old friend of Stuart’s has died..suicide or not??
When a therapist’s computer is hacked and infirmation stolen, the patients become playtoys for a man wanting some fun. Patients receive awful texts that disappear and leave them fearful and totally blindsided. Ali has her hubby’s company High Noon investigate using his empliyees Stuart and Cami.
Learned a bit more about malware, spying over the web, the dark web and am a bit worried my phone my attack me. Fast action, solid plot and new characters introduced. Not as loved by me as her previous books in the series but maybe that’s me reacting to the information on being evil and not being seen.
She has several other series and my fav is the Joanna Brady series…Az cop, female, taking over her husbands job to find out who killed him and raising their child alone.
Not the best Jance I have read.
I started reading this and put it down part way through. Too sick psychologically for me.
Too wordy in technical aspects. Story moved among slowly. Great finish.
I love JA Janice. This book kept me surprised at each turn!
