Ali Reynolds returns in this suspenseful thriller featuring New York Times bestselling author J.A. Jance’s signature “fast pacing, surprising plot twists, and a strong, principled heroine” (Booklist).Cybersecurity expert Roger McGeary finally has his life back on track after years of struggling with depression. But when he falls from the balcony of his suite on an all-expenses-paid cruise, the … all-expenses-paid cruise, the police quickly dismiss it as an accident. Unsatisfied, Roger’s tough-as-nails aunt, Julia Miller, is determined to find answers and closure. By contacting Roger’s childhood friend Stuart Ramey to help her solve the mystery of his fate, Julia unwittingly sets up a collision course with a serial killer.
Stuart, his sidekick Cami Lee, and journalist-turned-amateur-sleuth Ali Reynolds put the full resources of cutting edge online security firm High Noon Enterprises into learning the truth about Roger’s death. With Cami on the high seas investigating the ship from which Roger disappeared, Stuart stays tied to his computer, locked in a battle of wits and technology against an unusually twisted adversary. When the heartless killer sets sights on Stuart, High Noon must race against time to save him and countless others.

As always, Jance has written a fantastic, suspenseful novel. I enjoy her Ali Reynolds series. I look forward to each new one and this one was worth the wait. It really had you thinking about cyber security and computers in this day and age. J.A. Jance is an excellent author that I think sometimes gets overlooked. I’m so glad that I found out about her many years ago with her Joanna Brady, J.P. Beaumont and Ali Reynolds mysteries.
Have always enjoyed J A Jance books. The series is wonderful but can be read as a stand alone book without ruining the enjoyment.
I enjoyed reading it. It had some interesting twists. Don’t read it while on a cruise ship.
this book is full of the things YOU do not want to happen and every one of them feels entirely real.
It was a bit slow at the beginning for me… but once the action began it was jet engine quick
I picked “scary” as a descriptive word about this book for the reason of the possibilities of the cyber programs mentioned in the book. I know there are programs that can ‘take over’ a computer, phone or other electronic devices and that is truly “scary” to a layperson such as myself. I would not have the first idea of how to determine if my device had been comprised nor how to fix it. I know that more and more cyber entities are there and with that, I truly feel like a dinosaur. Good read and one that only took me one day to complete!! Still have one more Jance book on my shelf-which I’m saving for now. It’s a JP Beaumont story which is the first series of hers that I launched myself into years ago. Maybe I won’t pick it up for at least a few days while I read Karin Slaughter’s “The Good Daughter” (another great author)
Love all of Jance’s Books
Not up to her usual standard book.
I’ve enjoyed Jance’s books for years. This one is no exception to her captivating tales.
slow read. Not very interesting.
JA Jance is a wonderful author – love all of her books!
I really liked JA Jance’s other series, both of them set in Arizona- this is a big change, and while I did not enjoy this book as much as I have others, it was interesting to see where this series is going.
While I don’t quite understand cyber stuff, this book was one of JA’s fastest paced and twisted books ever. Really enjoyed it.
Nothing
Good read. Loved it
Thought it was good
Love J.A. Jance. Always a good story and enjoyable read.
J.A. Jance writes great books, and this is certainly one of them. Hard to put it down, as it grips you from the beginning and keeps you riveted.
I don’t know if this could happen, but you never know. I love J. A. Jance and I wasn’t disappointed in “Man Overboard”. You’ll love it.
Her books are the best!
Good solid book by an entertaining writer.
