It’s illegal … But only if you get caught.Brianna Winter was a high-flying executive for a hot start-up until her company collapsed in scandal. Now, her reputation in tatters, she’s left with mounting debts and nowhere to turn for help. Enter Liam McGuire. The laid-back Irishman can to California in search of fun and sun. But with his visa about to expire, his sand and surf days will soon be over … his sand and surf days will soon be over if he can’t find a way to stay in the country.
As far as Liam is concerned, they’re a match made in immigration heaven: he’ll support her until she finds a new job; she’ll be his wife until he gets a green card. All they have to do is stay married for a year, but neither is prepared for the sparks that fly when Liam moves in.
What starts as simple attraction begins to deepen into something more. When suspicious immigration officials begin asking awkward questions, though, their relationship is put to the test. Brianna risks arrest if they stay married, but Liam will be deported if they don’t.
Can they find a way to stay together … without going to jail?
MAN OF MATRIMONY is a steamy standalone romance with heat, humor, and a sexy Irish hero! Happy reading!

This book is awesome has a wanna be actor and a supposedly wall flower. The characters are engaging and the plot keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what is going to happen next. Don’t miss out on this one you will laugh and cry and cheer.
I keep thinking Thea Dawson can’t top the couples in her previous books, but with each new book she proves me wrong!
I was excited to finally get to know Brianna better. Just as with Annabelle and Carina there is more to her than most people see. She is the serious one, the business-minded one, and the one some people perceive as cold. They don’t see her big heart, her goal of working for a company that will make a difference in the world, and that she has been hurt before.
Liam is looking for someone to marry to get his green card. He is a nice guy from Ireland who wants to stay in the US to work. Archer and Drew were sweet and I really liked them, but I think Liam is my favorite. He’s got a great sense of humor, is thoughtful, and I love that he looked past Brianna’s initial stiff demeanor to see the real her.
The plot moves at the perfect pace. Slow enough to get to know Brianna and Liam, but it doesn’t drag as they plan their wedding and go through the green card process for Liam either.
The story is told in dual narration and first person perspective which both work well here. It gives the reader a chance to get to know them individually and see their relationship evolve.
I am looking forward to reading more of this series!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Loved Brianna and Liams story so much. They are both in this fake marriage for different reasons at first. Although it took them a while to get there, their feelings start to turn real for both. Just loved these two and thought they were great together.
Brianna is at a low point in her life when the CEO of her company is charged with fraud and she as COO could be considered a potential accomplice or at least found at fault for not discovering it. Now she’s out of work with black marks on her professional reputation, so no one will hire her, and over extended on a condo mortgage and other bills she can no longer afford. Liam can’t find an employer who will sponsor him so he can stay in the United States before his visa runs out. He comes up with the scheme to marry Brianna and pay for her bills while he works on getting a green card. The problem is if they get caught Brianna could suffer heavy fines and go to jail. And when her father discovers what she’s done, he’s not going to let that happen. They never expected their marriage of convenience to turn into love. There was plenty of humor and sexy romance in this opposites attract story. Brianna is organized and a planner who prefers Pilates while Liam is much more laid back and loves rugby. I thought it was sexy that he loves poetry.
An amazing well written light hearted humorous romance pact. This entertaining had me addicted from the beginning with the ups and downs, humor, heartbreak, hope, determination, and hot chemistry. Liam and Brianna are realistic, well developed, and complete oppisites. They come to an agreement to benefit both not counting on the sizzling chemistry, witty banter, laughter and help each other work thru their own issues. Its told from dual POV showing the love that grows in this entertaining laugh out loud romance. I honestly and voluntarily reviewed this standalone ARC.
I really enjoyed this book as I do all of this author’s books.
Her books always have an unexpected twist.
Usually marriages of convenience don’t work but this one does.
The characters and the plot are witty and well written.
It was really great book.
What a great way to spend a rainy, Spring day. This has been a great series and I’m glad to know it won’t be ending with the sisters stories. Loved Liam and Bree. My family looks at me funny when they see me crying while reading – that’s what this book did to me – loved it!
Brianna has it all a job that people will envy, a condo with an amazing view, all the right connections. None of these will help her when the company, she has put her heart and soul into, is sinking under scandal. Liam is her date for a charity event the day the scandal breaks. He convinces her that holding her head high and attending will help prove her innocence. Can he use his charm to convince her a marriage of convenience is the answer to both their troubles?
This was my first Thea Dawson book and I am looking forward to reading more of her work. I fell for Liam almost immediately. He is charming and sexy and truly seems to want their arrangement to benefit Brianna too. Brianna wants her parents to be proud of her and her determination to prove she can take care of herself is admirable. She doesn’t just want to be the daughter of a wealthy man. Thea did an amazing job of creating characters that were relatable. This is a quick, easy read. Grab a copy and start reading!
Man of Matrimony by Thea Dawson is the third book in the Gentlemen Inc., series. However, it can be read as a standalone and be completely enjoyable! This is the first book I have read by Thea but it won’t be my last! Thea crafted a book that is lively, witty, emotion filled and has two fabulous main characters! There is Liam, a bartender/escort/app inventor/rugby playing hunky Irishman, who wants to stay in sunny California but his green card is expiring and will need to return to Ireland. Then there is Brianna, a high level executive/designer clothing wearer/condo owner with a million dollar view gorgeous blond, who just lost her job due to her boss cooking the books and finds herself unemployable with diminishing savings. After Liam escorted Brianna to a benefit auction, he comes up with a plan to help them both out of their dilemmas. The only thing is will Brianna agree to his proposal? Well, you’ll just need to read Man of Matrimony to find out! It is so good!
I was provided a complementary arc in return for an honest review.
Such a fun and entertaining read! I have loved this series and this story is a wonderful addition. The characters were witty, real and had sizzling chemistry. I loved the depth of the characters and the realistic feel of their story.
This is a delightful read! This story of Brianna and Liam just keeps you turning the pages. So many emotions throughout this book. Jail for her and deportation for him? The ending was the best!
It was nice to catch up with my favourite family of the three Winter totally different character of girls that found love in the most unlikely place.
Bree has been a big character in the first two books of the series and it was finally getting to read about her. Liam my darling charming Irish man is the perfect antidote to the walls Bree has built and he has the perfect solution to their dilemma.
Could not put it down and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The sneak peek of Alex’s story certainly piqued my interest and I cant wait for summer to read all about it.
We’ve been here before in these marriage of convenience books. Same-oh, same-oh. However, if you want a book that is always on point, witty and full of devastating humor then you probably want read this one. Hours pf pure fun entertainment await you. Read and enjoy!
Man of Matrimony by Thea Dawson was a sweet story. I beta read it back before it was completely polished but I very much enjoyed the story. The main and the supporting characters were all interesting and mostly likable. The plot was a familiar green card trope and cleverly done. I’ve read all of Thea’s other books but this is the first of this series I’ve read, and I would really like to go back and read the previous stories as well. I especially liked the ending, which I can’t tell you about, so you’ll just have to get it and find out for yourself. 🙂 Also, isn’t the cover great?!
READING PROGRESS
This was a good read. Liam and Brianna are an unlikely match but that’s what makes it good.
Man of Matrimony is my first book by author Thea Dawson. It was at times sweet and funny, crazy and outrageous at others.
A fake marriage turned love affair, this was a fun, fast read with a strong mind, feisty heroine, Bree is nobody’s fool, except for one thing. Her boss. He’s not the man she thought he was and now she needs help getting her foot back in the door of the business world after being tarred by her boss’s brush (with the law).
Liam needs help too, of the green card variety.
Together they make an unlikely pair, but as time progress they find fake becoming real as their hearts start to get involved. Will they end they charade as man and wife or lovers on opposite ends of the Atlantic. Pick up your copy today and find out.
What a ride…. Wow. I mean seriously, WOW! That was one hell of a read. I am not sure that I even know where to begin writing a review for this because it is truly an awesome experience. This was an emotional and SEXY storyline that grabs you right from the start keeping you engrossed and on edge throughout the whole book. The overall mood in this book was light-hearted with tons of funny banter. Liam and Brianna were literary perfection.
I was caught from the first page and I could not be happier with their HEA and how everything played out.
It took me a few chapters to get into this story but once i did i really enjoyed it. I enjoyed reading about the characters and the story kept me interested throughout. An overall very enjoyable book. I look forward to reading more by this author.
I started out not really liking Bree. Even after her job situation occurred, I didn’t feel bad about it. Ice Princess was the perfect term for her.
With Liam’s help, Bree started to slowly thaw out, and she grew more likeable. That’s when I started to cheer for their success.
I didn’t like Bree’s father at all. Not at the beginning of the book, and not at the end. Forget the fatherly concern, he just came across as a manipulative, rather unpleasant man.
It took a while, but the book became more lighthearted and sweet. The dialogue was sarcastic, snarky, fun, and sometimes humorous. The book turned out much better than I thought it would. The beginning was rough going for me. I’m glad Liam and Bree got their HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
