ScarlettBlytheville, South Carolina—have you heard of it? No? Yeah, neither had I, until today. Want to know why? It’s in the middle of nowhere, and I’ve been given the ultimatum of either living on the street in Boston or accepting a job transfer down to this blank spot on the map where people say things like: “Bless Your Heart,” “Over Yonder,” and “I reckon.” Oh, and they don’t cuss, which … which makes survival a bit challenging for me with my flavorful vocabulary.
I’ll cut to the chase. On day one of my new Southern lifestyle, I land myself in the hospital and meet Austin, one of the two nurses on staff. I would consider this guy absolutely gorgeous if I were into the whole tanned, smokey-blue eyes, and messy sex-hair look, but I’m … not. Okay, I’m lying. If Austin wasn’t my type before, he definitely is now. However, I was sort of rude to him. While I’m sure my first impression was probably my last, maybe I can turn on a little Southern charm (if I can figure out how to do that) and change his mind.
Austin
This chick is crazy, hot as hell, and more wound up than a taunted wild animal. I might be out of my mind, but I’m intrigued by her short temper and lack of filter.
She thinks I’m just funny and sweet as pie, which I know annoys her, but she hasn’t spent time with me outside of work yet, so she doesn’t know I can dish out more than she can take. Miss Scarlett thinks she’s tough and intimidating because she’s from big, bad Boston, but she’s about to learn how things really go down in the South.
The question is, will Scarlett and Austin ever see to eye-to-eye, or will they give up the fight long enough to see what they’ve been missing?

Another great read from Ms. Ryan that is funny and heart felt. Scarlett is a sassy Boston girl who has to take a job in a small town in South Carolina or be unemployed. She is very resistant to relocate but her best friend, Brendan, convinces her that this change would be good for both of them so he is going to take this journey with her. The first day that they are in Blytheville, Scarlett gets injured and goes to the ER where she meets Austin. Sparks fly between the 2 of them and we get to read about them being in a relationship in a small town. The book gives you some laugh out loud moments and it is a great escape from everyday life!
Another 5 stars for Shari J Ryan!!! I absolutely loved this book. I was lucky enough to receive an arc. I loved Scarlett and Austin together.
Scarlett is a city girl who has never lived in the country before. she moves to Blytheville, South Carolina and it is a completely different world then the city life she is used to in Boston.
She meets Austin a sexy nurse who works at the nearby hospital when she has an accident on her first day.
They clash from their first meeting.
If you love a story with so many funny parts, than you will absolutely love this book!!!!
I loved Shari J. Ryan’s newest rom-com! Scarlett is suffering from culture shock after being transferred from Boston to South Carolina. The local hunky nurse, Austin, has noticed the sassy Bostonian and is more than willing to be her one-man welcoming committee. Scarlett trying to navigate country life had me laughing out loud while Austin had me swooning. The scene at Sherman’s Grill was hysterical!
“I think she has that whole little dog, big bark syndrome thing going on.”
“If I focus on being happy in the moment, I know no matter what, I’ll have a happy ending.”
“For every tomorrow you will give me, I will make you wish there was never a yesterday.”
This has been my favorite stand alone out of Man Servant and Man Flu. RomCom is becoming one of my favorites to read!
OMG! I loved Man Handler. This book is enjoyable read full of laughs, sweet, fun romance and sexy. I love Austin and Scarlett’s journey throughout the book.
I loved Man Handler. Scarlett is sassy and strong. She doesn’t hold back anything, she just says what she wants. She has a really awesome best friend, Brendan. She’s a Boston girl but when she finds herself without a job, she takes a transfer to a small town in South Carolina. Brendan goes with her. Her attitude is nothing like the girls in Blytheville. She’s a like a fish out of water down there. On her first day she finds herself in the hospital for a wrist injury. There is meets a sexy nurse named Austin. Austin is sweet and nice. He has had some not so great relationships and isn’t looking for a relationship. He and Scarlett are much alike. Their banter back and forth was funny. These two where super fun to read about and it’s a good story.
I give this read 3.75 stars……..
Don’t start throwing tomatoes at me. LOL! This was my least favorite of this series so far. I struggled with the connection between Austin and Scarlett. I loved the plot and the characters. But for me something was missing. They just didn’t seen to connect the way Ryan’s other characters have for me. There were a lot of great laugh out moments. It was still a fun read and I am glad I read it.
What do you get when you send a Bostonian to the south? A cute little rom-com with all the southern drawl a southern girl like me can get. Man Handler brings two very unlikely characters together for a down and dirty good time. After all, there are pigs involved!
Austin Trace is a born and bread true southern boy. All I can say is please call me darlin’ anyday! Scarlett Thorpe is a true Bostonian, but with a name like Scarlett, she fits right in with all the other Scarlett O’Hara’s in the south. One has no plans for the future, resigned to what they feel is their only fate to be single and alone. The other only lives each day at a time never planning a future.
One unexpected trip to the hospital brings these two together, but does not a couple make. Scarlett definitely has a sassy side when she is mad or uncomfortable and Austin got to take a front seat view of this side. Bringing these to characters together was no easy feat. They both have a stubborn streak a mile long, but when it did come together for them, it was fireworks in the sky.
Another hit in this author’s Man Cave series. This is the third installment of totally standalone stories.
5 STARS FOR MAN HANDLER!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, THIS BOOK!! The story is Rom Com perfection, with all the fun banter, sexiness and fantastic characters. Scarlett is a sassy city girl that gets replanted in the country still living like a city girl. Austin is a hot country guy that works as a nurse. These two meet and oh my do they have a story to tell you. Shari J. Ryan is one of my favorites, she can write anything to perfection. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Man Handler is a fun, entertaining read. I loved Scarlett’s feisty personality! Austin was a great match for her, and I really enjoyed the witty banter between them. The secondary characters were great too, especially Scarlett’s best friend Brendan and Austin’s co-workers, Daisy and Clara.
I voluntarily read a complimentary Advance Reader Copy.
Man Handler is a wonderfully charming, hilarious, and steamy romance! Scarlett is a brazen city girl from Boston who needs to live for the moment and be in control of her life. Because of her job, she is forced to move to a small town in South Carolina. This city girl is not prepared for country living and her high heels land her in the ER where she meets sexy RN, Austin. Austin is sweet, charming and the perfect southern gentleman. They seem to be opposites but actually fit perfectly together. They both have a past that made them want to protect their hearts. But their competitive nature, and some hilarious and awkward events, keep bringing them together. Soon their fiery attraction begins to crack those walls. This story is filled with witty banter, lovably quirky characters, awkward moments and lots of heart. Don’t miss this latest standalone romcom in the Man Cave series!
In an opposites attract, enemies to lovers tale, Austin Trace and Scarlett Thorpe meet under unusual circumstances. Let’s just say they don’t hit it off. But what follows is a fun and sweet romantic story with good vibrations. Austin is the perfect southern gentleman and Scarlett is the feisty city girl. Great secondary characters, funny banter and a sweet push and pull. It’s an enjoyable, lighthearted read.
