Perma-single Amy Clarke prides herself on three things: her pink hair, her Converse collection, and her ability to drink copious amounts of margarita without puking. She isn’t looking for love. She’s perfectly content with her simultaneous love affairs with Netflix and both Ben and Jerry. The trouble is, sometimes, love finds you.Five months ago, he climbed aboard her train, and nothing has been … nothing has been the same since. Fast-forward to now, she still doesn’t know his name, but she knows she wants his babies.
Her crush–this tall, dark, and handsome dork who gets on her train every other Monday–has no idea he brightens her day with his panty-wetting smile and laugh that makes her pulse quicken.
When a chance encounter outside of work forces them to have their first proper conversation, things quickly go from loving him from afar to up close and very personal. With a string of disastrous exes in her past, has Amy finally found her Mr Perfect? Or does fate have other plans?
A new stand-alone romcom from Kirsty Moseley, best-selling author of The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window and Nothing Left to Lose.

In anticipation for the second book of this series, I read Man Crush Monday for a second time. And just as I remember it is so adorably awesome with cheese obsessed Amy’s cotton candy hair to her tarot card reading mom’s beloved dog named Puzzle who has a little gas issue. Throw in some steamy love scenes with the hunkiest dude in a suit that is Jared Stone and you have yourself an A+ romcom. I won’t give too much away in this review because it would completely ruin the surprise at the end of the book. Just know that after I read this book, once I found out that Kirsty was writing a second, I automatically preordered.
PS. Yesterday I learned she is even writing a third book, which is already available for preorder, and I’m sure you can guess what I did?? I preordered that one too!

I thought Amy Summers from Lauren Blakely’s Asking for a Friend was my ultimate book girl crush, but now I need to start a collection of Amys because Amy Clarke is as delightfully precious as my other Amy.

Life is desperate when the highlight of your week is Monday morning–that’s my opinion anyway. But for Amy Clarke, she lives for those days when her nerdy train obsession boards the train to London. If only this cute guy she adores, like-a-creeper, noticed her, the world would be perfect. She’s barely said a word to him, yet she knows she’s in love.
Years ago, I read Kirsty Moseley’s The Boy who Sneaks in my Bedroom Window and loved it. I admit that the writing is rough; the story dramatics are dramatic–but it has a loveliness in that it fearlessly takes on the uncomfortable topic of child abuse, and the desperation survivors face daily. I loved the friendship between FC’s brother and his best friend; Liam and Jake’s interactions are one of my favorite things about the book.
Kirsty Moseley brings the same camaraderie to this book with her hero Jared and his brother Theo. For some reason that I won’t search out therapy to examine, I love the portrayal of these relationships. They work for me, and it helps me enjoy the heroes more for it.
A brief coffeetrastophe, a well known but heartwrenching event no coffee drinker ever wants to see or experience, leads to Amy’s wildest imaginings coming to be. Fate is blessing her. A would-be Godmother, in the shape of an adorable dog needing an ear scratch, makes it possible for her obsession bumping into her, literally. Now amongst unfortunate coffeetrastrophe carnage comes her crush’s name, a date, and a tingle of chemistry destined for fulfillment.
While Amy is my favorite character in Man Crush Monday, Jared and Amy together are more magic than readers deserve. We deserve a lot, but this is some diety level stuff that most people are only lucky enough to get in the afterlife. They are perfect together. I didn’t want to put this book down.
The only detractor was that the surprise is predictable, and the reveals lead to some of the most frustrating character panicking in need of a firm smacking. It never once made me want to skip a page, though, so let’s say that it wasn’t a real problem for me.
Is there someone who can make this a streaming series? I would tune in weekly for more Amy Clarke.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.
The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window
Asking For a Friend
Loved Man Crush Monday! Jared and Amy are so cute and funny. They are total opposites, he is an OCD neat freak and she is a messy leave it where it falls girl. I love the dialogue and her no filter had me laughing out loud. The plot twists left me eager for more and I couldn’t stop reading, even when I should be sleeping. Another good one from Kirsty.
It has been three years when one of my favorite authors, Kirsty Moseley, released a book. Man Crush Monday wasn’t really the book we were initially promised, but man, did it deliver more than that! This was definitely worth all those wait, reminding me what a good story teller, Kirsty Moseley is.
Man Crush Monday is a romantic comedy that will tug at your heartstrings. The story is original (at least for me) that even if I know how things will end up, it still excites me know how things pan out. Although I am really not a big fan of insta-love, Man Crush Monday, is one of the few exceptions of this. It was written in a way that you can’t help but fall in love with the story too. Kirsty has a way of tearing out your heart and break them apart just so she can repair and give back to you wrapped and tied in a bow as if nothing’s happened. Man Crush Monday will make you laugh and cry, and then laugh some more, just a perfect blend of a romantic comedy. And although the story is a little fast paced in terms of the timeline, it doesn’t feel rushed. It gives you the details you need to enjoy every bits of it.
Amy is one of the few heroines that I actually wish I had the characteristics of. She’s bubbly, witty and confident. Despite her being a “liability” she can brighten a room with her quick wit. Which I think perfectly complements Jared’s introverted, OCD self. Just goes to prove that no matter how polar opposite you are, if you jive together, you jive together.
This certainly deserves a 5 star. Worth all those years of wait.
I’m so glad Kirsty Moseley wrote a romantic comedy because she absolutely nailed it and she really created magic here with Jared and Amy. Man Crush Monday is such a delightful and entertaining breath of fresh air.
Jared and Amy are seriously the cutest and sweetest couple I’ve ever read. Their chemistry is undeniable and they fit together like pieces of a puzzle. They’re full of charm, romance and flirty and witty banter. I truly adored Amy’s weirdness along with her quirky, nerdy and carefree personality. I also fell madly in love with Jared and I can see why Amy liked him so much. His sex appeal is irresistible and he’s funny, down to earth, loving and just an all around good guy.
I was already heavily invested in this wonderful storyline and them bam, here comes a major plot twist that I didn’t see coming which consumed me even more. This book really couldn’t get any better, it’s a definite must read and one of my favorites of 202
Amy and Jared end up together in an unconventional way, but sparks fly as the fire blazes.
It’s been a long time since a book made me laugh out loud, and this book did it throughout the entire story.
Amy is someone I would love to be friends with (hello, Tequila Thursday) and her lack of a brain to mouth filter is hilarious.
Jared oozes off the page and if he’s not your next boyfriend, there’s something wrong with you.
I must admit, as I was reading, I kept thinking “This is going a little too well” and when shit hit the fan I actually and literally yelled out “oh my God!” – It was a curveball I didn’t expect and it was fantastic.
This is my first book by Moseley, but it won’t be my last.
I loved Amy and her quirky ways. All the characters in this book all so endearing to me. I loved how perfect Jared was for Amy and how accepting of Amy and all her ways he was. This was the perfect Rom-Com!!! I can’t wait for another slice of Kirsty Moseley!!!
Good book
Great characters! A spoiler review had me waiting. Cute story!
The bonus chapter made the story even better. I want an entire book now from Jared’s point of view.
I really enjoyed this book! Amy works on the train, punching and selling tickets. She looks forward to every other Monday, when her Mac crush takes the train. She has been crushing on him for five months, but doesn’t have the courage to flirt with him. Fate intervenes and her man crush literally runs into her outside a coffee shop, spilling coffee all over her. To make up for spilling her coffee all over her, he asks her out to dinner and their romance is off to the races. Now there is a plot twist that threatens to derail the burgeoning relationship at about the 60% mark in the book. In most romance books, this happens anywhere from 80-90% in. I loved both Amy and Jared (especially Jared, totally swoon worthy), but the plot twist happening so early meant that Amy dithered, equivocated, and generally vacillated about the relationship. It seemed like the author needed a certain word count for the book, so they had to draw it out. It reminded me of that high school essay you had to write that needed to be 1000 words, and you only had 900, so you added filler words to get to the goal. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked the book, just thought it could be tightened up a bit and it would be a five star read.
One of my favourite scenes in the book is where Jared takes Amy to a work party and then whilst Amy is in the bathroom complaining about the spanks and how boring the party is. She is actually complaining to one of the partners that Jared works for and manages to schmooze her. I love it.
I loved Heather, she was the best friend you need and want. I loved the friendship between them and also loved that Tim, Heather’s partner, is also like a brother to Amy and I love the friendship group.
Oh my god the families in this book the scenes they were involved in made me smile so many times. Especially Amy’s mum and nana I loved those scenes with them in.
So this book was so cute and I caught all the feels. I absolutely love Jared and Amy and it was well worth the wait from Kirsty!

Amy is funny and speaks without thinking first. I love this about her. I love when she wishes someone chickenpox on thier arsehole. Jared is strong, hardworking, everything how it is supposed to be in order, kind of guy. I love this about him.
When thier two worlds collide watch out because it might be just like falling down a rabbit hole.
Oh my goodness I love this book! I just couldn’t put it down (can someone write me a note when I don’t get my work handed in on time?). The characters are so beautifully written my heart ached for them, they also made me laugh out loud several times, and I love the set up. I did spend a while wondering when the shoe would drop and how (I figured out the twist when there was a slight hint towards it) and boy when it hit did it hit! And then it didn’t stop hitting. Just wow.
Such a funny, entertaining and sweet story. I knew the moment that I read the blurb that I just had to read this book, and i was so right.
I laughed, I got a little teary eyed and I absolutely couldn’t put it down. The banter between Jared and Amy. I found the storyline fun and unique & the characters were absolutely wonderful.
This is an adorable, funny and flat out fun read! Jared and Amy have the sweetest romance going on. These two will have you bouncing between giggling and swooning constantly. Amy’s quirky humor and Jared’s more dry humor pack quite a hilarious punch throughout their entire story making this a romantic comedy gem. I laughed my way through the pages of this book all while falling completely in love with these characters.
4 Cranky Stars
Where to start, where to start? I’m usually a girl who has a lot of things to say but for once I’m not sure. Up until about say seventy percent of this book I was like this is too sugary sweet. I have no issues with instalove and things like that, but this was like Hallmark but in book form. I kept looking for Jared’s flaw other than being OCD and a neat freak. He was just normal every guy Dave while Amy was the quirky walking disaster with pink hair. It was almost a walking cliché at times and those sex scenes are like five pages long. Then when we finally get to the drama and action it’s pretty much near the end of the book and it felt like it was tossed in for dramatic effect to solve Amy’s conundrum. That’s when I started to really get into the book. I’m not trying to tear the book down it might have just been that it’s not my cup of tea. I mean Amy squealed every time she saw Jared, I mean I’m surprised she didn’t piddle. Jared was just so kind and nice and he even got her a four-week anniversary gift. Yep he did that. I guess the saying is true for Amy and Jared and that’s when you know you know.
I did like Amy a lot though she seemed very real and normal with a normal girl body. She was quirky and nerdy and hey so am I. Only thing I’m not that Amy is and that’s extroverted. She was that girl everyone loved. I gave this book a four because yes there is a cute story with sexy times in there and Amy seemed very real. I guess I just really loved that part toward the ending. I would suggest this book to people who love sappy romance novels.
Wow! I laughed with this so much. I had a big smile on my face most of the time reading this because I just loved Amy and her quirkiness. Jared was just swoon-worthy. Their encounters and dates are to die for. But not all is as it seems and there is a surprise there that will throw you for a loop.
Sometimes you read about a character and you can’t help but love them, and think they are the type of person you would want in your daily life. Amy Clark is that person, from her converse shoes, her pink hair, no filter, free spirited self, and her Tequila Thursdays, to her Man Crush Mondays I just couldn’t help but love her.
Amy’s favorite day of the week is Monday! I know gasp, but Mr. tall, dark, and handsome makes Mondays worth her while. For five the handsome stranger has gotten on the same train as her every Monday, and she looks but never touches. When a chance encounter and iced coffee down her shirt brings her face to face with him, she gets a date with her guy.
There is a reason Amy loves Jared, I love Jared! He is the perfect balance to her carefree spirit, after all opposites attract. He is handsome, maybe OCD, and extremely work oriented. On paper the two probably couldn’t be more different, but their chemistry and attraction to one another jumps off the page.
Kristy Moseley really surprised me with this book in the best way. I laughed for the majority of this book, and then all of the sudden I was no longer laughing. Moseley throw us a curveball that kind of stopped the show for a moment. However, I feel like it was absolutely perfect! I may not have been expecting it, but I cannot see the book without it now. The secret really mad Amy question herself and her feeling for Jared. It all worked out in the end!
I absolutely loved this book and recommend everyone read it! You will not be disappointed! 5 pink Converse stars for Moseley and Man Crush Monday!
Well Kirsty Moseley hasn’t had a new release for 3 years, but this little gem was definitely worth the wait. She’s back with a bang!
This book is different from her others books in that it is a rom-com, but it shows she’s versatile and can write anything. I loved every minute of this!
This story follows Amy. A normal girl, that I’m sure most of us can relate to. She has her own insecurities, but she’s quirky and cool, and I liked her a lot.
She works as a ticket collector on the trains. Pretty dull, but it pays the bills. The dullness is only improved every other Monday when a stunning example of manliness gets on her train. She’s been quietly crushing from afar for several months, but then, by chance, they meet officially. Everything is going great for once.
I really enjoyed this. There were many laugh out loud moments, but it was also emotional too. A perfect mix. Amy and Jared were great and had fab chemistry. I was invested in their story from the get go.
The plot was different from the average and original and even had some twists to keep you on your toes. I found myself eager to turn the page to find out what would happen next, but also loath to finish and leave these characters that had worked my way into my heart.
All in all a great read that I would definitely recommend. I finished this with a great big smile on my face and will definitely be going back for a re-read or 3 in the future.
