The sex is incredible (pretty sure we’ve shaken the house right off its foundation), but he can’t fool me—not this time. A degree in marketing and five years in advertising have taught me that “true love” is a fairy tale used to sell lipstick, diamonds, and perfume. It doesn’t exist. He thinks I’m wrong, and he wants to prove it.I think he’s crazy, so I dare him to try.It might be the biggest … might be the biggest mistake of my life.

“He looked like that type. A meal you could enjoy morning, noon, or night. Like pigs in a blanket from The Pancake House.” – Melanie Harlow
I love Melanie’s other series “some sort of” so when I seen this book i just couldn’t wait.
Man candy is funny, sweet, lovey dovey… There where parts where I laughed out loud and parts where i wanted to cry. I enjoyed it very much.. Can’t wait for more from her.
I thought this was an okay read. Based on the reviews I expected to enjoy it more than I did. I liked the characters but there was nothing about them that made them memorable. This is the older brother’s best friend story so I expected a little more depth from both Jaime and Quinn. They were separated for ten years but as much as Jaime claimed to be in love with Quinn when she was younger I wished I had felt that deep connection between them. I NEEDED to feel that deep connection between them and I didn’t. There were parts of this story that was funny and it did not lack in steamy scenes but I actually found this story slow. I wish the pace was a little faster and that there was a little more angst between the main characters. The ending was sweet but it was just an okay read.
Such a lovely story. Jaime was in love with Quinn, her brothers best friend, 10 years ago. Things didn’t work out as hoped. Now ten years later they share a house. Jaime is now cynical and not a believer in relationships. Their interactions are steamy, sweet and occasionally cheesy. Very easy read.
Man Candy is an ingeniously brilliant friends to lovers story. This is one of my favorite tropes to read. But Man Candy had a clever way to capture my attention and prove it is more than just man candy. It is also a uniquely heartwarming, charming, and gratifying love story. I fell for Quinn, a sexy male model, right from the start. He is cocky, playful, and romantic, but also thoughtful, and caring. He has moved back home to establish a more meaningful life for himself. He has been friends with Jaime since they were kids, and has wanted her just as long. She had a crush on him back then as well, but he never felt worthy of her until now. He is finally ready to make his move on Jaime but she is not being cooperative. Jaime is smart and sassy but also temperamental and closed off to relationships and love. It took me awhile to warm up to Jaime until I realized that is how the men are usually described in these stories. I love a strong female character and that is just what Jaime is, without the public displays of affection. That realization made Jaime relateable to me, and that is when I fell for her as well. Quinn caught on to her fears right away and loved the challenge of convincing her to believe in love. He loved the contradiction of Jaime being fire in the bedroom and then ice away from it. She was also funny, quirky, and couldn’t back down from a dare. She would get into situations that had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. I loved how their relationship developed. It was challenging, playful and so passionate with chemistry that is off the charts! Jaimes’ brother and girlfriends are essential to the story as well making it even more engaging and well rounded. Ms. Harlow expertly blended multifaceted characters, witty banter and steamy passion into a fun and sexy story and I loved every moment of it!
This book was such a pleasure to read. I found Jaime and Quinn relatable, witty and just plain fun. A great light read for bedtime.
Loved it!
great story loved the book
I fell in love with this book! Such a realistic view of somebody with OCD anxiety. My heart broke and got woven back together with these truly special characters.
Not excited about this book.
Easy read, you will fall for the characters immediately!
Enjoyable book with likeable characters. Liked the strength of the characters. Liked that the objective of a happily ever after wasn’t just getting a wedding ring, but finding a person worthy of being with. (Hate it that most books end with a wedding ring !)
I really liked it. It was back and forth and kept you guessing what was going to happen next.
Anything by this author is amazing!
Beautiful light hearted love story
I loved this book! It’s light, funny, steamy, and cool. A delightful read.
Great book!
I love a great love story. I love a great love story with a strong, sexy man who knows exactly what he wants. I love a great love story with a strong female lead. A woman who knows what she wants and how she wants it. And I’m not just talking about in the bedroom.
Jaime doesn’t believe in love. She believes in casual fucking and then ending things.
Quinn believes in happily ever afters and has decided he would convince Jaime that true love exists.
Let the games begin.
Dropping my chin, I gave her my most winning smile. Irresistible, right? She shrank back, wrinkling her nose. “What the hell is that? Your Flynn Ryder smolder?”
Quinn moves in downstairs (don’t even make that dirty) after deciding modeling isn’t all he wants to do with his life. I would make some crack about this being stupid, but I’ve read Models On Top and I know this life is harder than we could ever imagine (Yes, I just referenced another book in this book review. Whatever.). So, he leaves his modeling career and moves back home. So, he lives in the downstairs flat. He’s known Jaime for ages. They go way, way back.
Jaime is pissed that Quinn is moving in. Why in the hell didn’t her brother tell her?? She isn’t at all pleased with this arrangement. Until she is. She just wants a piece of this Man Candy–see what I did there–and she won’t stop until she gets it.
I wasn’t totally convinced he wouldn’t try to muddy the waters with hearts and flowers, which would completely kill my lady boner and ruin the fun.
Despite their lengthy past, they’ve never hooked up. We benefit from this like you wouldn’t believe.
The sexual tension is off the freaking charts. I wanted to climb into Jaime’s body and experience Quinn first hand. This man is determined to change her mind. And he’s hilarious and sexy and I want one. Where can I get a Quinn?
Bets are made, lines are crossed, feelings may or may not happen. Either way, this line kiiiilllllled me. I want a man to say this to me. Or Quinn. He can say it to me.
Tilting my head, I gave him a coy smile. “I’ll trade you a date for a slow fuck.” He shook his head. “Uh-uh. No way. I’m getting all three dates, plus the blowjob you offered me, and the slow fuck.”
Um, yes, please! I’ll take the slow fuck from Quinn for $1000, Alex.
Need some humor because you’re afraid this book won’t have any? Prepare yourself for one of the funniest first dates/meeting the friends ever!
“Come on, love bug. Can I call you love bug? What am I saying–of course I can! I can do anything I want tonight.”
#sweetpea #firstdate #loveisreal
And the moment my stomach dropped and I became all tingly inside? Yeah, there’s a scene for that too. “My turn.”
5 ‘Love Bug’ stars!
I loved this book! Quinn, holy hell Quinn. Hello Hottie McHotpants. How you doin’?
I devoured this whole book in one sitting. Jaime, she’s a wee bit jaded and always has one foot out the door in relationships. No falling in love for this girl. Ever. Feelings are ew. Cuddling…gross. But then Quinn rides up with his best Flynn Ryder smolder and all bets are off. Who can resist that smolder? Jaime, that’s who. Ah, but Quinn breaks her down, one cuddle and yucky feelings at a time. Yay!!!I highly recommend this book, a must read!
OMG Quinn!!! Ok, so I won this book from a giveaway on FB. I wasn’t sure what to except but I was super excited. And holy hell, I was NOT let down. this story is full of twists and turns, but in a great way. I love the coming back together of two people mixed with the uncertainty it brings, but it is awesome. I would definitely recommend this book.
