Some girls don’t like pretty things. Some girls like things that are destructive, and toxic. Things that fuel our bodies with adrenaline and bring our demons to their knees. They say magic isn’t real, but it’s it the closest way to describe love? It doesn’t exist physically. It merely exists around us, within us, possessing our souls and making us do stupid shit. Shit like falling in love with a … in love with a boy who knows how to rip my world apart and raise hell with a simple flick of his wrist. Their secrets are now mine. I’m not just in the middle of this game, I’m helping orchestrate it. Can the cries of my aching soul be enough to drown out the burning embers of my mistakes?
The mind strengthens the heart, roughing the edges to prepare it for war. This is a war I will not win.
This is a war of fate.

I absolutely loved this book so hard! This was the conclusion of Nate and Tillie’s stoey and once again, Amo Jones has blown my ever loving mind! Just when you think you have things figured out, Jones knocks you on your butt with a twist, a secret, a twist that messes your whole world up. There were parts of this book that were hard to read. The emotion smacked me square in the face. The violence was so real, I could see it. And the sexy heat almost melted my Kindle and scorched my eyeballs. I am a forever fan of Amo Jones after reading this series and can’t wait for more stories from this world.
Holy mother ducking fudgesticks!!! I need tissues, Jesus and Gin…..and not necessarily in that order!! I am not even joking! This book has taken me through every emotion and thrown me seven ways Sunday!
I will say again that Amo Jones is an absolute Queen! Her words wrap themselves around you, binding you, holding you hard and fast, making you feel EVERYTHING!!
I am not even going to attempt to tell you what happens in this one, not just because I don’t do spoilers. Ever! But because you need to FEEL it ALL!!
WOW
5 stars!!
This is book 5 in the “Elite Kings Club” series and part 2 of “Malum”. This is most definitely is not a stand alone. I sure hope there are more books to come!!
This is the second part to Tillie and Nate’s story. And damn it is crazy!! My heart was demolished after part one. I had no clue how I would even move on. But I have and I have learned so many new things! Nate made me fall back in love with him and I am Tillie’s number one fan!!
I enjoy this group of people quite a bit. Madison has irked me to no end but I love these evil as sin boys!! Once again this book is not unicorns and pumpkin spice. This definitely has some dark moments along with triggers.
I will say the book was written pretty damn well. You can tell how much the author grew from book to book. This book was knock your socks off amazing and Tillie and Nate were my absolute favorite. But I can’t wait to get the dirt on “Saint”!!!!
This is a killer series. Grab it now!!!
This review is one of the hardest to date that I have had to create. How can I ever do justice to this book and not give away any of the little titbits that this genius evil author spins?
Having read the first part of Malum, I was on tenterhooks to find out how Nate and Tillie concluded. How could they ever get past what had transpired in the previous book? Naked, alone, and bleeding in the darkness both Nate and Tillie are well underway to discovering who they really are and what they could never imagine they would do and still carry out in the name of revenge.
Tillie was left broken and in pieces struggling to comprehend what had happened. Losing her mind and her heart fragmented into splinters.
‘I understand revenge, though, probably more than Nate. I was raised in a world where people were cruel to me. It toughened my willpower to wait for the right time to strike, instead of lashing out at every person who does me wrong.’
When I was first asked to review Malum Part 1, I jumped at the chance of reading another dark romance, shortly thereafter I checked out this amazing author and realised to my shock that Malum was the fourth book in a series. I quickly jumped into the first three books and had consumed them in a matter of days. Three books over four days for me has been a record I haven’t broken since.
I always believed Madison to be the strong woman in this series; I couldn’t have been any more wrong if I tried. Tillie wears the crown of thorns when it comes to that title. Where Madison runs, Tillie gets up, dusts herself down and stands toe-to-toe with whatever is in front of her. Sure she is a Strupum but that only gets her so far she kicks ass and takes names all while wearing Jimmy Choos she’s my new hero for that fact alone.
‘Pain doesn’t define us, it shapes us. We come into this world as newborns, a fresh start. New life, a crisp soul. Then life happens, and every single choice you make has an implication. Every scar has a story, or it doesn’t and it’s just a scar, but whether or not it has a story, it’s still a scar, and that scar doesn’t define us, so why should pain?’
This author has the true gift of dragging readers in and making them feel exactly what the characters feel. My emotions flipped from one extreme to the other in a matter of mere minutes; angst, heartbreak, anger, revenge, blood lust, and total destruction.
Tillie stands larger than life within the thick of The Kings, it takes someone of strength and determination to go at it with these men and walk away intact, she sees what they hide and she knows what they need. The blackest of black grows uncontrolled in these men and she never cowers are hides from it. The scariest one of all sees her as a friend, now which took some getting used to. Heck, even Bishop shows tiny signs of being fond of her. Mysteries upon mysteries, half-truths, and secrets float around the air like stale cigarette smoke.
Nate can make any woman swoon and any man bleed, but inside he’s more broken than anyone else and bleeds more too. He lives for revenge and destroying those who took his heart. He’s simple to understand but confusing. Hard but yet soft, he’s a true enigma of the world. Hiding behind expensive cars and hoodies so that the world doesn’t see who he really is. He’ll bleed for the kings but he’ll die for who holds his heart.
‘Losing myself in all that is him. He consumed me more than anything in this world, the feeling is stronger than love. It’s stronger than hate, or pain. He smothers me and owns every single bit of who I am.’
There’s a big bad coming over the hill and I just hope that they’re ready for it. This series was supposed to end after the next book; however, the author has stated that there will be more books after that and for that, I could kiss her feet. These books have taken on a life of their own and dragged me into the depths of hell. Dealing with issues that seldom even have a toe dipped into their bloody waters. Amo Jones puts her people through madness and soul-shattering pain, but know one thing…they always get back up and kick the ever living daylights out of life.
I need more stars for this book! This story proves, without a shadow of doubt, that Amo Jones is the QUEEN of mind-trickery! It’s a Grade A masterpiece! This book is so intense, it left me with the adrenaline shakes. These Kings are going to break you and piece you back together one dark part at a time!
The 2nd part picks up right where we left off in Malum Pt 1. I can tell you right now, you are unprepared for the twists that Amo is getting ready to throw at you. I thought I had it all figured out but I couldn’t have been more wrong. It is gut-wrenching, dark and oh so very sexy. If you loved the mind games before then you are in for a real treat!! Bad boy Nate is at the top of his game and Tillie is more than a willing player. The chemistry between these two is off the charts but then you go and throw in a little Bran Bran and then it ignites!!!
Even though this is Nate and Tillie’s story, we still get a peek at the other Kings and Queen. My heart is breaking for Madship, there is definitely trouble in paradise and Brantley is holding secrets of his own also. We are introduced to some new characters but one old one that really sticks out for me is Eli. His comedic relief and banter with the others was a welcome break from the dark. Another welcome surprise was how well Brantley and Tillie are getting along. I love seeing their friendship blossom. I could go on for days but I will stop now and let you enjoy the mastery of this book! Grab a smoke and some alcohol, you’re going to need it!
Q: Pain doesn’t define us, it shapes us.
Amo Jones is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors for dark and twisty romance… And Malum, Part 2 was an outstanding conclusion to Nate and Tillie’s romance. It kept me right on the edge of my seat. I have waited (with very little patience, mind you) for the conclusion to this particular story and that wait wasn’t in vain. Amo delivered!!!!
First, it is my opinion that the Elite Kings books should be read in the following order: The Silver Swan, The Broken Puppet, Tracet a Mortuis, Malum Part 1 and Malum Part II. While technically two different romances—the first three books listed are Madison and Bishop’s trilogy and Malum Parts I and II are Nate and Tillie’s duet—I STRONGLY advise readers to start with The Silver Swan as the events in Malum Part I and II will be challenging to follow without doing so. Moreover, you can not appreciate the depths of the stories without starting at the beginning. Now, I am not one for cliffhangers, and these books all end with one so go into the stories prepared to binge read. However, there is something I am a huge fan of, and that’s Amo’s writing and dark romance. And since her works are deliciously dark, super sexy, and offer readers a truly unique romance that I’ve found nothing to compare to, I can’t praise the author enough. Also, due to my refusal post spoilers, this review is going to be relatively light on details, so please forgive me.
Nate and Tillie’s romance continues with twist after twist that I never saw coming. It’s epically dark, but also offers romance, redemption, and love. Amo returns readers to the story that made me stand up and take notice of her as an author. The Elite Kings books are where I started my love of all things Amo Jones, and from that moment on, there has been no going back. I own each book she’s written, and I’ve now read one of them with each break I get in my blog schedule—which is saying something since I have a TBR list a mile long. Nate is fiercely protective and Tillie is sassy and strong as hell. This series is endlessly entertaining, and I cannot freaking wait til Amo releases Brantley’s books. The one thing I would caution is that you must be a fan of dark romance to appreciate this series because nothing about it is mainstream ‘warm and fuzzies’ romance. Amo Jones writes phenomenally well and if you’ve yet to read her work (and love dark romance, of course), you have absolutely no idea how very, very much you’re missing out. If I had the power, I would dub Amo the Queen of Dark Romance because she is without question a genius!!!
Amo Jones has destroyed me. She has taken all of my emotions, smashed me with them leaving me bloody and broken on the floor, and left me as a pile of nothing. She has slayed me, ripped me apart, and put me back together again.
Tillie is a Savage Queen. She holds her own with the Kings. She has earned respect and deserves her place in the ranks. She protects those she loves and is loyal to those who deserve it. She is not afraid to get dirty, to seek revenge with her own hands. She has become this integral unit that holds this family, The Kings, together. With her respect and loyalty, she has gained it in return ten fold.
Nate, my goodness. Nate is such a enigma. There are so many sides to this complicated, intriguing man. In the previous books we see the ruthless, manwhore ways of Nate, but in Malum Part 2 we see that he is so much more. We see Nate grapple with his overwhelming emotions, especially where Tillie is concerned. We see him fighting his own emotions and his own heart. Nate holds so much of the Kings world on his shoulders fighting the fight alongside his brothers, because his loyalty to them and their loyalty to him knows no bounds. And that loyalty, despite his protests, despite everything working against him, that loyalty and love extends to Tillie, his Queen, whether he wants to admit it or not.
Amo Jones is never one to waste a single word and this book is no different. Each word is calculated, purposeful, and beyond intriguing. As a reader you can’t help but devour everything, wondering what will happen next. There are so many plot lines, twists and turns, that you just go along for the ride and savor every detail. We get to see so many sides of Tillie and Nate’s relationship. The love, loss, grief, anger, sadness and everything in between. Tillie and Nate are deliciously complex but every moment of their story is raw and gritty and worth every moment.
Savor every word our Motherf**king Queen graces us with, because Amo Jones is just that, our Dark, Savage Queen. She gives us the dark and dirty, the good and the bad. She shows us that despite unusual circumstances, that family can run deeper than just blood. That family can form in unlikely places but that that family can conquer all with trust, loyalty, respect and even love. Amo Jones takes us down a rabbit hole of complex and layered story lines but always delivers with original stories that make me want to bow down and pledge my loyalty to our Queen.
I am and always will be an Amo Jones fan. I will read and review her stories without hesitation. Her stories never seem to amaze me and give me my own slice of paradise to escape to.
As Sarah – Musings of The Modern Belle put it, this books get a massive 5 Savage Crowns.
“Why?” I ask, my voice husky and desperate. “Why did you sleep in my bed?”
“Because knowing you’re okay is worth the pain that having you in my arms causes.”
Nate and Tillie are back! Picking up where the previous book ended, Tillie is captive, held by the Kings, and Nate shows a cruel and somber side of the man she thought she knew. But in a world so controversial, full of blood, being able to identify what is a lie and what is true, can be the guarantee of survival. Even if it is necessary to play the games of your enemies.
As Tillie tries to get answers to all the mystery surrounding her, she will deal with the return of someone very special from the past who will insist that she finish reading the diary, have to live with Nate’s constant mood swings, her lineage and existence will suffocate her, at the same time that she tries to stifle any feeling towards Micaela.
But if she seeks answers, the Kings are also lurking. With the lack of confidence on both sides, all moves are watched, alliances are made on the basis of mistrust and the common enemy is the target to be eliminated, even if the risk is too high.
Nate and Tillie remain toxic, the two are too volatile to be together and too uncontrolled to be apart. Their interaction is always tense, filled with tension, insults, a bit of violence and a lot of chemistry.
Nate will show that he must be feared, his Malum side so dangerous will be seen in this book. Tillie also embraces her dark side, seeking revenge and imposing herself before the Kings. Just as in the first book, no one is what appears, a world of lies and intrigues awaits the two.
Madison and Bishop have their own plot, which changes what we knew so far. The ending presents the revelation of a new secret, and opens the hook for the next book.
Tillie and Nate’s journey is not pretty. Far from it. The two are dysfunctional, dangerous, violent and obviously do not do well for each other. But even in such a dark world, a part of Nate is still human. And Tillie is his greatest weakness.
*ARC provided in exchange for an honest Review *
Malum makes my heart beat twice as hard. Malum 1 and 2 have been by far one of the best books I’ve read and Amo Jones has become one of my top go to authors.
The complications and the dangers that the Kings are faced with are unbelievably the best story plot to date.
The challenges that they are put upon each day makes the book that much more fascinating and interesting and the Kings just makes you want to devour them just as much as you do the books.
Tillie and Malum have some tough moments through and through but they seem to find ways to jump through the hurdles that have been thrown on them. The Queen and King sure have taken me on one hell of a ride that I just didn’t want to end.
All I have to say is these Kings own my heart and the more we get to know them the more I want!!
A twisted tale,
A web so intricate,
A lot of lives involved that will be obliterated.
Will our couples make it through the depths of hell?
Or will the devil’s spawn come back for show and tell?
One live. Two lives. Three lives. Four.
Tick tock says the clock. The door to hell will close.
Kings and queens will bow to no one unless people come forward with tales so twisted no one can do anything for them.
Malum 2 is unlike any other story. The words keep you glued to the page and begging for more.
A cigarette, a bottle of Jack and a padded room is all you need to come out of your reading fog and keep moving forward.
Amo our Queen keep going strong and the word will come!
HOLY HELL!!!
Can I just say I may have some whiplash because of the batshit craziness
I just read! WOW!!! No for real!!
Malum: Part 2 was just nothing like I have ever read full force craziness on steroids, that will send you sailing till your heart and mind collide!
REVIEW: 3 SOLID STARS
“When Nate bears his soul to you, he takes yours as collateral.”
This entire review will consist of me battling between my own frustrations and my love for this story and the characters. It was a rough ride, but I am not entirely sure it could have really been told by anyone else, any other way. While I realize a 3 star review isn’t indicative of my LOVE for this book, I truly did love the storyline and the characters. I loved the actual plot and the depth that Nate had. Nothing in this book was surface scratching, and believe me when I say that I was easily confused 65% of the time. There was SO much going on, and so many pieces to put together. What a ride.
I love Amo Jones
I love her crazy books
But dammit, they’re frustrating! Frustratingly good, but frustrating nonetheless.
But I couldn’t walk away.
I try really hard to be fair in my reviews. I don’t ever want to come across as me trying to find little things here and here to complain about, but I also know that I want to always give an honest opinion. I try to enjoy my reads, but I also have a really hard time accepting things in books that don’t really work. Drinking? Drugs? Normal teenager stuff and I know this happens. But running the town? Murder and mayhem? Ordering drinks in a restaurant? Nope. And the drug use? It felt ‘token’. Basically placed to give a darker edge to the characters that we didn’t really see in the first three books. It just felt far fetched to me in some spots, and it didn’t feel like there was enough believability to the amount of power and destruction these teenagers wielded.
But I was dying for answers
Amo is so authentic in her storytelling style. There is no other like her and I feel like the only reason I was able to get through this story was because I was so intrigued with not only what was going to happen, but also to see what other crazy parts surfaced. She had so much personality infused into her characters, they were honestly their own persons. Were they all alphas with testosterone coming out their pores? Yes, but the charisma each character demonstrated gave a level of intimacy between the action and the reactions of everything surrounding them. There was a deeper meaning to everything, but not always did I see the ‘why’ right away and I appreciated that. There was a lot of discovery with this duet, with some parts reading so vividly, yet there were other parts I was so confused by all the jumble that I couldn’t make heads or tails about what was going on or who was doing what. Sex scenes were the hardest to picture…

I said it before, and I’ll say it again.
Amo Jones is THE EMOTIONALLY SADISTIC AUTHOR. I’m making shirts and everything.
Malum: Part 2 is nothing short of amazing. The twists and turns are everything you know from Jones but so much more. From start to end, you’re going to be taken for an incredible ride of who and what did it. How and when was this possible. Where and WHY did this happen.
Tillie is such a freaking badass. I loved and loved and LOVED her character. The woman who not only stood beside all the kings, but could rule above them.
I gotta stop reading books that give me so much anxiety. I’m going to have a full head of gray before I turn 35 years old. There are so many bombs going off here that I just wanted to curl in a ball and wish it all away, lol. I mean, the Mikaela stuff had me dying. Just saying her name makes me tear up again. A mother’s pain and overcoming that pain, holding it all in during certain situations… JFC, I would’ve seriously yelled my heart out if I were Tillie.
I will forever love this author’s way of writing dark romance. Everything Nate and Tillie was absolute perfection. The claims, the jealousy, the hate, the love. Gah! Fabulous!
These two might definitely take the cake into fave EKC couple.
Now, speaking about couples… WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH MADSHIP?!
AND NOW I AM COMPLETELY HYPED UP FOR BRANTLEY’S BOOK!
I can’t say anything short of, “read the freaking book!”
This author will always remain as one of my main recs for new readers.
Holy moses what a book! Amo if your reading this review I hate you but I love you! You tore my heart out but then you handed it back to me so all is forgiven!
This is a must read book, I can’t even begin to tell you how good this book is. Secrets are revealed and truths are learned. Tillie has become my idol and hell has no fury then a woman hurt!
Nate is his usual self a complete prick I wanted to slap him almost the entire book. But one thing I admired about him was he started to be more truthful with Tillie. So many things happened and were revealed in the book and now all my questions have been answered and I can’t wait till the next book comes out!
I have now discovered hat it is brutally hard to write a review for an Amo Jones book without cursing. IMPOSSIBLE. But I am going to try.
God. Tillie and Nate broke me again. I literally cried reading this. Like actual tears down my face. Amo takes the things that you think are going to happens and throws them in a dumpster and sets them on fire and hands you the ashes. I swear I have whiplash.
It is something amazing when literature can actually bring you to your knees. If you are looking at this review and have no read the previous 4 novels in this world, stop now.
If you HAVE read them, then you already know you need to read this. It was easily the best novel I have read in forever. I feel like I say that about ever AJ read, but this is absolutely it. This hit me so emotionally and it was so dark and so twisted and now I am salivating for the next read and this one hasn’t even released yet.
MY GOD HOLY HELP FML RIP ME I CAN’T BREATHE OMG AMO I CAN’T EVEN USE PUNCTUATION. Glad I got that out.
Some authors collect their readers tears, Amo Jones collects our damn souls. And we offer them to her, willingly, because we’re obviously gluttons.
As we know, Malum Pt. 1 left us with many wide eyes, our eyes drained of tears, our brains wondering WTF even, man. Part 2 definitely tied up some of our questions. We got some relief of our grieving. We threw our fists in the air in triumph. We grieved in downpour rain, again, because UGH. I really can’t even talk about it.
Jones gives us a little more story in this one relating to the secondary characters in Malums story. More of Madship, we get what’s going on there. AND WHAT A DOOZEY. We meet a few new characters that are going to be pivotal in the series. Malum Pt 2 ties us up wonderfully in the sense of Nate and Tillie, but still sets us up for the rest of this world that is the Elite Kings. Basically that’s all I feel like I can actually talk about, story wise. So, you’re welcome?
Basically, if you’re one of my friends that hasn’t started the Elite Kings Series by Amo Jones….what are you even doing with your life? I know I’ve told you to do this thing, and you haven’t listened and you’re missing out.
Part 2 of Nate and Tillie’s story has bled me dry! Amo’s writing has sucked the life out of me and I am just now coming up for air.
I devoured every single book in the Elite Kings Club, but Malum Part 1 and 2, drew me in like no other. Nate and Tillie share a commonality that gives them reason to fight for revenge. Although, they choose to not be a couple, while being a couple….they definitely ‘hate to love’ and ‘love to hate’ each other. These two will let almost anything come between them to show no weakness, but the coming together after any traumatic situation will crash in like a storm.
Amo writes such compelling characters, and the background history for every King holds strong. They all have their own story to tell and I just know I am going to love each and every one of them. The King’s world is very intriguing, the men scream sex on a stick, and as soon as your shown a glimpse, you get smacked across the face with a surprise. Tillie has grown accustomed to the King’s world, but still is thrown twist at every turn of the head. Within each king lies secrets untold.
I’ve been riding along on this adventure and never know what to expect with each turn of the page. The story-line is unpredictable. Everything remains a constant mystery that you are trying to solve. None-the-less, these books speak my language.
Get your hands on the Elite Kings Series, they will knock you down and pick you right back up!
Amo Jones
Nate and Tillie are baaaaack! I DEVOURED this book. I couldn’t put it down. I have been dying for the rest of their story for so long and Amo didn’t let me down! She never does. The writing is flawless. It’s violent and emotional and sexy and just…. gahhhhhhh. So perfect!
I love the all the Kings, but Tillie…. Tillie fucking Stuprum is my Queen!! Omg! I just love to see her kicking ass and taking names in this book.
We get lots of answers in Malum, Part 2, but just as many new riddles and secrets to figure out. I seriously don’t know how I’m going to wait for Brantley. I NEED HIM NOW!!
If you’ve been reading the Elite Kings, you certainly NEED this book! If you haven’t read the Kings… well wtf. Get your life right and start with The Silver Swan. You’ll never look back! This series is dark romance at its finest. Highly, highly recommend!!
Yet again this stand out Kiwi author proves exactly why she is in a league of her own.
Nothing is ever as it seems and minds will blow and hearts will break with the second past to Nates and Tillie’s story.
Tillie is a queen amongst her Kings and fights till the bitter end.
You’ll tear your hair out & scream your voice hoarse before getting answers, but as always with this author, totally worth it.
Would give more stars if I could
