Another seamlessly written co-write by 2 very talented authors.
Oliver & Savannah’s story will have you laughing, crying and even at times wanting to throw your kindle. Considering how young these 2 great characters are they carry more on their shoulders than people twice their age. And yes they struggle. They keep things to themselves so as not to burden others.
This is a true Enemies to Lovers story as for the most part neither can stand the sight of the other and whenever they do happen to share the same space look out as barbs will fly. But when they finally get their acts together it’s beautiful.
My heart went out to both Oliver & Savannah dealing with the things they did. I wanted to bang their heads together so many times. But in the end all was forgiven when they finally get their well deserved HEA.
Told in dual POV this great story can be read as standalone but it does help to read Treacherous first as there are interconnecting characters and back story.
Saying that Oliver Conley and Savannah Reynolds don’t like each other is a gross understatement. They hate each other’s guts on account of Oliver’s past actions and that’s what happens when you meet someone who chose to be your best friend’s tormentor without knowing all the facts. Unfortunately, lashing out is Oliver’s sport of choice and anyone in close proximity could be his victim.
But now they are in college and Savannah’s sharing an apartment with Oliver’s step-sister who also happens to be his best friend’s girlfriend. Their circle is close and they have to tolerate each other on this account.
When a deeper attraction comes to the surface, their relationship will start shifting and both Oliver and Savannah will find themselves in the midst of unexpected traits that will change their feelings for the other. Savannah has a secret that weighs on her while Oliver’s anger takes a toll on the real person inside and they have to decide if they trust each other enough to let go of these burdens to make a future together.
Malicious is a story of two really damaged young people that come together in an unseemly way. It is well written with wonderful characters and depth in content and though Oliver is a massive jerk on the outside, getting to know him better is worth every minute. The only downside for me was the lack of surprise on what should have been the biggest twist in the plot, but otherwise, I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it if you like the genre.
4.5 stars
Following on from Treacherous we get to hear Oliver and Savannah’s story … This is your typical YA story with the teenage drama , twists and angst.
An enjoyable read and I like the way the story covers a social topic which is very much a modern day problem but highlights that there is not enough awareness or help for eating disorders, body imagery which is a growing in scale.
Oliver was a vicious character with attitude, gorgeous, sexy your total teenage dreamboat. Here he tries to redeem himself and just when you start to like him again he shows his true colours and once again turns hateful by lashing out.
The story was a page turner and a great co write from these two authors with very similar styles.
Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope and this one doesn’t disappoint. Savannah and Oliver seriously hate each other ever since Oliver did all the nasty stuff to her best friend Rylie who is also his step sister. But even though Rylie forgave Oliver, Savannah hasn’t. Until she caves, then it’s instant attraction and love. Savannah has an eating disorder and goes downhill fast, especially after a huge fight with Oliver. Can they realize the love they have with each other before it’s too late. Highly recommended
This is a pull you in and take you on a intense dark ride that has you hooked on this read. This will pull you in tell the very end and have you reading in one setting.
Oliver Conley….
The most infuriating man I’ve ever met.
He’s crass, selfish, malicious. The worst kind of person.
From our very first encounter we were at odds. Standing on opposite ends of the battlefield preparing for war.
He didn’t care for me.
I despised him.
Until one day things started to change….
I didn’t want to want him. Hell, I hated myself for it.
And yet, there I was, falling hard for a man I had sworn as my mortal enemy.
But as time passed, I started to see him differently.
I started to see beyond the perfect exterior he exuded.
I started to see him.

Loved Oliver & Savannah’s story! Flawlessly written and heartfelt! Their story will take you on an emotional journey in the best possible way.
Oh that Oliver! I really did not like him. Savannah there are so many better guys, right? But wait! Oliver grows up. A little. He improves in my eyes, their relationship grows and I love what happens between them. But the he goes and acts like a spoiled child again! I was glad to see he was able to redeem himself and grow up to be the man Savannah needs in her life. I would definitely read Treacherous before this book to get the backstory that is in this story BUT
you could also read as a stand-alone.
I loved this enemies to lovers story. I loved that Savannah learned to accept Oliver’s flaws and still love him anyway and I loved that he let her know that the flaws she thought she had did not exist. They made such a perfect couple I am glad that they found that they were really meant to be together.
Can Oliver redeem himself after how badly behaved he was in Treacherous? Is it possible to forgive the past? These are the questions I had going in and the answer is an overwhelming YES.
Savannah is just the girl to put Oliver in his place and that she does. The chemistry between these two can be felt through the pages. There are some twists in this one that make this story exactly what it needs to be and keeps you turning the pages.
We met Oliver and Savannah in book 1 but you don’t need to read it to understand their storyline. Alex and Melissa give enough background throughout the story to have you understand,
Oliver is Z’s best friend and Rylee’s stepbrother. Savannah is Rylee’s best friend.. Oliver made Rylee’s life very difficult in the past and Savannah has not forgiven him , nor does she like him very much. But they start to see they really do like each other and start spending time together. Savannah is hiding a secret from everyone and Oliver is dealing with his messed up family. When Oliver is made he lashes out and says hurtful things and when he hurts Savannah will she forgive him? What will Oliver do when her secret comes out?
If you haven’t read Treacherous I recommend you start there and then read Malicious. With that being said, I enjoyed Oliver and Savannah’s love/hate relationship and journey so much more. These two characters have so many flaws and issues that they are perfect for each other. The story is intense and is one that will keep you interested throughout. I do feel that there could’ve more but nonetheless a story I will recommend.
If you love a college age romance then grab Malicious! You won’t be disappointed!
There is a fine line between hate and love and watching both Savannah and Oliver cross that line made for an enjoyable read.
Oliver was mad at his father and ended up taking his anger out on his stepsister, Rylee. She has forgiven him but her best friend Savannah isn’t as easy to win over. Savannah has her own demons to figure out and overcome but these two are good for each other once they put aside their differences and now that they have had a chance to spend time together, all bets are off. That tension that was driven by hate has now become tension driven by passion.
So, get ready and enjoy this rollercoaster of a ride as their relationship gets off the ground!
This is Oliver and Savannah’s story. Oliver is Rylee’s stepbrother and she is Savannah’s best friend. Oliver is a cocky playboy and Savannah is feisty and to put these two together is like petrol and a match. These two continually trade barbs and they are each other’s favourite target to rile up, but they both have demons in their pasts to overcome, and although they are total opposites, together they are perfect, and there is certainly a fine line between love / hate with this couple. My heart broke for both characters’, but can they overcome their pasts and move on? Hats off to these authors who have written about a sensitive topic with such compassion. This is a well written flawless and intense story which is an emotional roller coaster, as well as having drama, secrets, heartbreak, twists, and love. I was completely captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented collaboration of authors, whose work I recommend for all.
4 stars!!
This is a stand alone book BUT I suggest reading “Treacherous” first. I feel like if I didn’t read it first then I would have been questioning stuff and I never like to be unsure about events in a book.
Wow, Oliver was way more then I imagined. I really did not like his rich, spoiled ass in “Treacherous”. Buy now I am in love. He just needs some counseling. Well maybe he just needed the right chick to fix him. I will say the cover didn’t give me Oliver vibes either. Not sure why.
There were a few lessons in this book. I appreciated them. I few twists that enhanced the story. Sadly people face these things everyday. It made this romance even more interesting.
The love story between these two is definitely my type. Enemies to lovers is so much fun. These two definitely were enemies. But they both had walls so nobody could get through, so to watch them break down each other’s walls were amazing. The chemistry was undeniable and super sexy.
I love all the characters. The friendships, the family, and the fun. I felt the end kind of let me down by rushing through the problems, but this was a very good book. I see two authors wrote this but it completely felt like one author.
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Malicious is a standalone enemies to lovers romance. I am a sucker for a good enemies to lovers book too and this one doesn’t disappoint. Savannah and Oliver are two very intense characters. These are two characters who have a past and we get to unwind the past right with them and find their true selves. I found this book beautiful and and intense and loved every single second of you. This is one not to be missed and will have you reading just as fast as you can.
An exceptional bully series by two amazing authors. This is a stand alone but I suggest you read treacherous to get the entire story. The plot is planned out to perfection. There is just the right amount of angst, romance and humor mixed in to keep you on your toes. I adore the characters and honestly I hope we get more from this series. A love to hate romance can be clique but these ladies seem to put an original twist that keeps it fresh. I can’t wait to read what these ladies come up with next.
Malicious can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading Treacherous first as it gives background to all the characters.
If you have read book one you will already have a negative impression of Oliver, he really can be quite hateful. Words can do so much harm and in that vain he is a master orator. I didn’t just wince when he spoke to Savannah at times my tender insecure self shrivelled into myself. Savannah is the girl you look at who you think has it all, the looks the friends the loving family but inside where noone sees she is struggling. Alex wrote both characters with depth and realism that really did justice to the difficult subjects raised in the story.
I would have liked some aspects of the story to be expanded on a little more before the resolution which felt a little rushed and I would have liked Oliver to have suffered a little more for his actions but I’m a bit of a sadist.
Wow! What a read! We first met Oliver and Savannah in Treacherous and to be honest I wasn’t sure if Oliver was book boyfriend material. Let’s face it. Oliver was a jerk. He was a vile human being and did despicable things. However, everyone has their own story. Oliver has his. Savannah is not one to forgive and forget. Savannah has secrets of her own that could end this journey before it even really begins. Their story was an emotional one and worth the read!
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
I love when two authors write a book together, because you can’t tell who wrote what chapter. This is a hold on to your seat and get ready for the ride book.
After reading Treacherous I wasn’t sure if Oliver would be able to redeem himself for the things that he did. Oh boy, was I wrong!! Alex and Melissa did an amazing job with the way they wrote this book.
Oliver is a rich, cocky, player. He did some really awful things in his past. He is slowly trying to overcome the guilt of these things and to make amends with those he hurt. However, in this book he is thrown through some major hoops in life. Will he be able to overcome his natural way of handling things or will he ruin everything with his anger?
Savannah is Rylee’s (Oliver’s stepsister) best friend. Savannah is sweet and loving to those she is close to. She is a fierce protector of those same people and will hold a grudge against those that cause hurt. She has a sharp tongue and isn’t afraid to use it. However, Savannah has some deep, dark secrets that she is trying to handle on her own. Will she be able to overcome this issue before it’s to late?
Oliver and Savannah are true enemies because of what was done. Will they be able to get past this and become more? Will their secrets ruin everything before they can find out? Oh and will Oliver’s temper cause more damage to those he cares about?
If you would like the whole back story of these two I would suggest reading Treacherous first. Even if you don’t I do think that you can piece together some of what happened.
Alex and Melissa did a great job with writing this story. They were able to incorporate some very hard topics and keep true to the actual topic. The twists that they put in this book had my head spinning and also my heart hurting for a couple of the characters. I loved seeing more of Rylee and Zayden (Treacherous’s main characters). I can’t wait to read more from these two authors.
