I started to see beyond the perfect exterior he exuded.
I started to see him.

Words hurt more than some people know.
Not just in books but in real life so much more. The exception between does two is, that in books the happy ending is guaranteed ( at least for the most books ) but in real life, it’s not.
Savannah and Oliver don’t like each other. Well, Savannah hates Oliver, but Oliver doesn’t hate her as much as she thinks. Maybe they started rough and he was not nice to no one but deep down he had his reasons and in the end, what awaits for him, breaks your heart.
Savannah has her issues too, mainly she blames Oliver because of his words but she knows that all of it it’s not just Oliver’s fault.
Chasing the truth and fighting the demons, Savannah and Oliver make a pack tolerate each other for the sake of his friends. But they don’t know that this road has so many bumps in their path.
Another amazing, heartbreaking and emotional story by Melissa and Alex. I loved it and can’t wait for more.
Wow! I’m thinking that I like Oliver and Savannah story more. It has tough subjects that are a bit difficult to read but it’s still a wonderful, sweet story that I definitely fell in love with the characters. I hope we have more good story like this one from this co-writing authors.
4.5 stars
For someone who isn’t normally the biggest fan of New Adult, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book.
If you’ve read Treacherous, then you know who Oliver is. Having NOT read that book I had no idea, but this read very easily as a stand alone romance. In fact I have to mention how cleverly the authors negotiated the story, minimising any spoilers for those of us who haven’t read about Z and Rylee’s love. This did make me really want to pick that one up, though I’m not sure I want to further ding the already slightly dented image I have of Oliver!
As already mentioned, New Adult isn’t particularly a go-to genre for me. I often find the characters either feel too mature, or they are too childish. Oliver and Savannah somehow felt just right. I maybe could have stood for them to be a year or two older, but in the grand scheme of things that’s a fairly minor niggle and purely a personal preference.
There may be those who feel Oliver didn’t earn his redemption enough, there always is in an enemies-to-lovers, but for me the whole story felt natural and believable. From falling in love to hidden secrets and secrets revealed, this story had pace, plot and passion. I was wrapped up in every word of it, not an easy feat when I’m a very picky reader where contemporary romance is concerned.
Having worked with teens suffering from Savannah’s issues, I did feel her ‘recovery’ was a little too quick and easy. However this is a work of fiction, so I could let that go, particularly since she wasn’t miraculously ‘cured’ by Oliver’s love for her. What did really bother me, and is partly why this isn’t quite a 5 star read, is that Oliver didn’t seek any help. That boy has BIG issues and, whilst it might have felt twee had it happened, I feel that BOTH of them needed professional support. Particularly given that Oliver already struggled with his anger and emotions. Given what he discovers about his family during the course of this book, it’s naive to expect him to just somehow get over it all.
But I don’t want to end on a down note because this was a one read, totally surprised by how much I enjoyed it, sexy and slightly angsty book that I am very happy to recommend.
Oliver isn’t the nicest guy and after treating his stepsister and stepmother as welcoming as he did, there are things that are hard to forgive and forget. Rylee has moved on and forgiven Oliver the best she can. She is in love with his best friend. So when her best friend Savannah comes home with her for the holidays, she wants them to get along!!! Can Oliver handle Savannah staying at the house? And when they spend more time together, can he resist her charms and hide his feelings for her?
Savannah hates Oliver but for her best friend,
she will do her best to get along with him!!! How long will she be able to deny her attraction to Oliver? Will she be able to hide her secret for long or will Oliver learn of it and prove her wrong?
There is a fine line between love and hate, and both continue to ride that line until they break!! This story has some serious issues, so some triggers, but chemistry between Oliver and Savannah is hot!!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.
While writing this review my emotions are all over place, these two author’s know how to rip your soul to pieces an spit them on the ground, then before the end of the story they do it again!!
Will these two ever have a happily ever after?
Enemies to lovers is not usually my cup of tea but of course if Melissa wrote it, I’m done for reading anything! If Enemies to lovers is up your alley, I highly recommend this book!
I did not think I could love anyone more then Zayden & Rayleigh but holy Oliver & Savannah! Swoon!
Another amazing book I loved that these two authors wrote together. This one is Oliver and Savannahs story and I was absolutely hooked from the start. As always my emotions were all over the place and lving every dang minute of this story.
After reading Treacherous, I really wasn’t interested in Oliver’s story. I wondered how on earth he could be redeemed. Turns out he can. Perhaps enough time has passed between reading the two books, and perhaps that is why I forgave him. He deserved so much more for his actions in Treacherous but no matter the reason, I enjoyed Oliver and Savannah’s story.
Things aren’t always as they seem on the outside. Many people show one side to the world when they are crumbling inside. Oliver and Savannah made for a good couple and I enjoyed their push-pull relationship and how they denied their feelings.
I recommend this book but also recommend reading the books in order to really build up your hate for Oliver. I look forward to more stories co-written by Alex and Melissa.
What do you get when you get two awesome authors come together, you get one awesome New Adult romance that will rock you. We have to two frenemies, Oliver and Savannah, going at it like savage beasts hating each other. No matter what he does it gets to Savannah yet they cannot stay apart. Now have to say that in some parts I hated Oliver for being so mean and the way he talks to Savannah. Don’t get me wrong you can tell there is tons of sexual tension between these two and man the way Alex Grayson and Melissa Toppen bring them together is hot. There is more that just hate in this book but shows us how sometimes words can wound us and up to us to fight to be stronger and suceed. This is definitely a book readers should read and also Treacherous about Rylee’s story. Loved it.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I really liked this enemies to lovers story.
The book was well written and the characters were well crafted.
This is a fun, hot, sexy read with some drama to keep you hooked
Although this book is a follow on from Treacherous, it can be read as a stand-alone
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review
Wow what a ride this story will consume you the characters are written to perfection a perfect enemy story.
Oliver and Savannah will make you laugh at their continued banter that bugs everyone also you will feel the heartbreak when the truths come out my heart hurt for Oliver I just wanted to hug him. This is a must read and one you won’t forget.
“We don’t always have control over who we fall for.”
As always I’m blown away by the story these two put together. All the angst with just enough push and pull to keep you coming back for more.
Never in a million years would I have thought Oliver was so hero worthy. He had many things to atone for after the events of Treacherous. I appreciated being able to delve into his character and see exactly what drives him and his malicious behavior.
I loved that while this was Oliver and Savannah’s story, it involved previous characters so I was able to get the whole picture yet still be able to revisit.
Malicious took on some tough topics that I imagine are even tougher to put into words. I did feel some things were wrapped up a bit quickly but I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
This is definitely one smoking hot, heartfelt, enemy-to-lovers you won’t want to miss. While it can be read as a standalone, I strongly advise you to start from the beginning and get a better understanding of where the enemy part began.
After reading Treacherous, I was very much looking forward to reading this and I was not disappointed. I loved it! It was very hard to put down, full of angst and emotion right until the last page!
This is Oliver and Savannah’s story. It can be read as a standalone, but I am so glad I read the first one as I knew these characters and why they hated each other so much. Oliver can be exactly what the title says that is for sure! Hell, I hated him in the first book, I hated him in this book too, but I couldn’t help feeling a little sorry for him, there is a reason for him behaving so maliciously!
Savannah is lovely, she appears to have a perfect life and upbringing but it’s not all it seems. My heart hurt for her and the struggles she has. The chemistry she and Oliver had was intense but they hated each other. I felt like banging their heads together at times!
I most definitely recommend this enemies-to-lovers book, both authors have done an amazing job with this one!
Malicious was a angsty enemies to lovers romance that tugged at my emotions. Savannah and Oliver’s story wasn’t the easiest by any means but these two captivated me from start to finish.
Oliver for all his vicious barbs and cocky, devil-may- care attitude won me over with his backstory. Try as I might I couldn’t help but love him even when I felt a distinct urge to throttle him. Savannah was a fierce yet fragile young woman fighting demons no one knew she had. I enjoyed watching as these two polar opposites developed a relationship neither expected.
I laughed, shed a few tears and groaned in frustration several times throughout Oliver and Savannah’s emotional journey as it shed light on a current issue many women and men face. Malicious was another great collaboration that’s left me intrigued with what this author duo will come up with next.
Oh my gosh this book was everything I absolutely loved it I couldn’t put it down I hope these authors get together again !
Loved it
Oliver Conley isn’t known as the nicest guy, especially after making hell for his new step-sister, Rylee Harper, and her mom after his dad Paul got married. Now Rylee and Oliver have formed a truce but Rylee’s best friend, Savannah, won’t forgive him.
Savannah Reynolds hates Oliver for everything that he put Rylee through and also for comments that he once made to her about her weight. Now Savannah is extremely self-conscious and is hiding a secret from everyone.
When Savannah spends Thanksgiving with Rylee and her family she begins to understand why Oliver is the way he is and sees a different side of him. She also can’t deny her attraction to Oliver but she knows getting involved with him would be a mistake and result in her heart broken.
Can Oliver show Savannah that he is worth a shot or will his actions drive her further away?
This was a good book that deals with some serious issues and takes a look at how we deal with the different obstacles we are faced with and how we can either get stronger or fall apart.
Oliver’s life somewhat fell apart when his dad married Rylee’s mom as he never knew all of the secrets that were kept from him and he believed that his dad had cheated on his mom which caused her to leave. Yet through the book we learn the truth about Oliver’s parents and things are pretty shocking which sends Oliver into several downward spirals. During these times Oliver turns to alcohol to cope and he truly doesn’t do well.
Savannah has her own issues revolving around her body and you can see her begin to fall apart and try and hide things more and more as the book goes on. I loved her friendship with Rylee but I hated how she viewed herself and how that was tearing her up.
There was so much chemistry between Oliver and Savannah due to the “hate” between them at the beginning of the book. You know that things would explode between them and that it was going to be gradual due to their history. I loved that Oliver realized that there was more between them first and Savannah was very off and on. Yet at a certain point Savannah realized she was jealous and that’s when things began to change more.
As both Oliver and Savannah deal with things they end up in a vicious back and forth as Oliver wants Savannah to support him and be on his side and not stick up for his mom and others. Their fights are huge and a lot of hurtful things are said but both have to come to terms with their own lives before they can really be there for the other.
I was happy when Oliver finally opened up to Zayden about everything but unfortunately the damage he did to Savannah had happened. My heart broke when Savannah’s issues finally got to her and her body rebelled. I was happy that Oliver and Paul were finally able to come to terms with everything and with that Oliver was able to really be there for Savannah and prove that he was ready for her.
The end was great and I was super happy that Savannah got the help she needed!!
This yet again is another great story from these authors that hook you in from page one all the way until the end. Where do I even start The characters I loved Savannah the growth that she had and her strength and then the hate from the previous book I had with Oliver. I feel like the story was very relatable to the reader and the drama throughout the story kept you on the edge of your seat
First let me say that this is a standalone book but in order to get the full scope and back story to their relationship I highly recommend you read Treacherous. Do you love to read Enemies-to-lovers romance? Do you love angst and an emotional roller-coaster of emotions? If you do then Oliver and Savannahs story is definitely for you. They start out hating each other. But whenever they are around each other thier chemistry is hot and they can’t stamd that. I felt that each had their own issues to overcome but in the end did they get over it and live happily ever after? You need to read this book to find out. Highly recommend!
This book was incredible. So raw and and emotional. Alex Grayson is an incredible author and I’ve never read Melissa before but Melissa and Alex are amazing together. I will definitely be reading more by her.
A great up and down in this story that will keep you wanting to keep going. You will not like Oliver at first. Savannah doesn’t want anything to do with him. Malicious is a good book and the way these authors bring it together makes for a great ending.
