There are a million stories about naïve girls being taken by beautiful monsters. In some of them, the monster is a tortured soul with a damaged past, but even then, that monster is redeemable. This is not one of those stories. My monster is a villain with no redemption, one that revels in the malice he inflicts. My reality is dark. His demons are darker. And though I love my monster with every beat of … darker.
And though I love my monster with every beat of my morbid heart, this is no fairy-tale.
For me, there is no happily ever after.

Wow was this book all kinds of twisted, depraved, insane in the brain goodness Natalie has done an outstanding job in the 1st story where it all began about the Chateau Dahlia and the Andreou family and the thing’s that went on in there.
This is about Julian Andreu who is not your normal average guy but one depraved, crazy, twisted evil man he’d give Satan a run for his money he’s been waiting on Morgana to become his, since he first saw her now she just needs to realize that they belong together, but first he needs to bring her to his level of crazy.
This book absolutely sucked me in and once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down and this book is not for the weak so be warned.
I’d definitely recommend this book if you like the dark, twisted depraved kind of crazy reads.
After reading just one book by Natalie Bennett, I knew I was hooked. I was really excited to start the Dahlia saga and dive into the darkness.
And darkness it was! I felt like I was on a downward spiral of madness and depravity, and yet, I was powerless to turn away. It was like I had a dangerous fascination with these characters and everything that they did/thought. I was on the edge of my seat as I watched each move and counter-move.
OMG the ending…and then OMG that epilogue! I need to know more and now! Wow!
I got caught up in this book so quickly that I was over halfway through the book before I realised it!
This was the first book I’ve read by Natalie Bennett and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was one of those where you had a couple of ideas in your head as to which way it was gonny go but you weren’t sure right up until it actually happened, lol.
Not only that but there was a twist that I just did not see coming.
And let’s be honest, when you read as much s we do, there are very rarely surprises any more, right?
JULIAN
I should hate this man. I really should.
But instead, I’m wishing I could snag a psychotic killer of my very own. *shakes head disapprovingly*
Julian is a very dangerous, very intelligent and very sexy man. With a lack of apathy and an extremely high sex drive, lol.
It runs in his family.
The men of this family got me changing my knickers, peeps!
He and his family run a haven of sorts for the sick and twisted wealthy people out there.
It’s a place where you can come and “play” until your heart’s content. As long as you have the money.
Think of the movie Hostel. But better (of course).
When Julian sees something he wants, he takes it. Simple as that.
And when he meets Morgana for the first time knows he knows she’s the one. She can see through the facade he puts on for the rest of the world and into his soul and he sees something equally as dark and disturbing in her.
But he was maybe a little ill-prepared for the way he catches the feels for her.
Not that that softened him in any way.
In fact, it made him worse.
With one look, I knew Morgana was a different kind of woman. She was the perfect mess of beauty and chaos. I saw her demons. I saw her darkness. It was all in her eyes
MORGANA
A lovely girl with a sadness inside and the feeling that she’s never really fit in.
She’s met Julian before but has purposely avoided him.
He has the power to make her squirm and squirt with just a look, lol.
And he emanates danger.
When she finally does go for dinner with him she realises she may be in way over her head especially when he quite abruptly tells her what he does for fun and business.
I like how different this one was.
There was no hiding what they did. Not really. The family was quite honest about it.
They also didn’t blame their hunger for torture on trauma or lack of love or abuse of any kind.
He was not crazy. None of them was.
They are alpha businessmen with little to no apathy.
Morgana wasn’t your usual victim either. She had her own darkness.
I knew right then that I was a terribly fucked up person. I think I’d always known. There was a list of shit that went on in my head—a list that would make people gasp and throw holy water on me if they ever found out what was on it.
SEX SCENES
He digs his fingers into my globes, pulling them apart even farther so he can dip his tongue inside me. It’s so taboo…and so different…A moan unfurls in my chest and pours from my mouth, followed by another. The tip of his tongue moves in and out of my ass. He lets go of my left cheek and pushes two fingers into my pussy. My wet sex makes sloppy noises as he curves them inside me, finding my g-spot. His tongue never stops moving for a second. I begin to squirm, feeling a tingle in my lower spine. Julian makes a growly sound in his throat. With him controlling my movements and an overwhelming pressure building within me, I concentrate on him using me to fuck his face. “Jules.” His name is a mere whisper. I want him inside me; I want him to make me hurt. “I know,” he breathes out, digging his nails into my ass so hard he breaks the skin and draws blood. I moan in response. “More,” I whine as he digs in deeper. His mouth leaves my hole, and his cock quickly replaces it. “More?” I know he doesn’t expect an answer. His full length pushes inside my ass; he shoves my face into the mattress almost to the point of suffocation and starts to thrust with a brutal amount of force. I moan and groan into his silk sheets, breathing heavily through my mouth and nose. He slaps each cheek in quick succession before wrapping my long hair around his fist and yanking my head back. Tears pool in my eyes, spilling down my face. His hand knots in my hair, and the pain from how hard he’s fucking me is complete delectation. My head is bent so far back it’s hard to swallow; he arches my back even more, allowing him to go deeper. He fucks me as if he hates me.
FINAL THOUGHTS on MALICE by Natalie Bennett
I loved these two characters. In fact, I loved the whole family so I’m glad that there are more books with the rest of the family members in it.
4 Stars
If you have read anything by Natalie Bennett you know her books are dark and twisty and this book is just that! It’s gruesome, twisted, sinful and sexy! This whole book should have a trigger warning label. Every page is deliciously dark! & I don’t mean that lightly! The world of Dahlia she is creating is so addictive and enticing I can not wait to gey my hands on the next book! If you love Natalie Bennett you will love this book!
This book ! OMG!! What a disturbing dark read this story was and can I just say Julian is hot AF!! I don’t care how sick and twisted he is and his dimples gets me every time! And Morgana, poor poor Morgana! What a horribly sad ending ! Can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
Deliciously Demented!!!
Broken. Can the broken love & be loved?
Oh yes, Obsessively so!
In The Dahlia, we are taken into a world were gore is the norm and where the people who reside there are anything but sane.
“This is Chateau Dahlia. A Sanctuary for the twisted and depraved.”
Welcome to this decrepit new world!
The darkness within will call to you as it holds on to me. Enjoy!
This is one of my first books by this author and she did not disappoint at all. It twisted, dark and at times difficult to read but also so so good that I couldn’t put it down until the last page. We have a damaged girl named Morgana and one sick man named Julian. If you have any triggers you will want to proceed with caution there are many secrets and twists that Julian is behind but he also has a fixation with Morgana that we cannot totally understand. It’s intense and mine blowing throughout the whole story. Julian wants Morgana to come to the dark side with him can you be by his side but she as disgusted as she is curious about everything. No matter how hard she tries Julian has this pull to him that makes it hard to deny her feelings towards him. I don’t want to get into too much more detail you’ll have to read the story for yourself but the ending was another what the heck moment that you won’t want to mess. I personally can’t wait to read more from Natalie’s work she is an amazing author who brought a definite lifetime fan in me.
Tragic and Twisted!
What an amazingly written, twisted and completely tragic story. I was utterly riveted and completely enthralled with each and every character in this captivating story. This fantastic author has written a tale so dark, depraved and taboo that you will have a very hard time looking away. This one is definitely not for the faint of heart and if you can’t handle anything taboo and depraved I would not recommend you read this one. I on the other hand loved everything about this story.
I can’t wait to read the next one! Highly recommend for those who can handle the dark and twisted!
All bets are off in this bloody twisted opening act of the Dahlia Saga.
So many skeletons form the foundation that is the Dahlia house.
Walls that have witnessed the most depraved of acts –
That have stood as silent sentries to the darkness as it was set free to feed.
Morgana has always been led to believe she suffered just a touch. That her mind wasn’t quite right.
She craved the escape that was found under a serrated edge.
She was functioning, she was fine – until she wasn’t.
Even bloodied and broken she will find a way out of the darkness. Dead or alive she will be free.
Julian had always planned to make her his. He wasn’t going to keep her, just play with her. Feed his darker needs.
Until he caught a glimpse of himself in her eyes –
A reflection of his darkness peeking from her soul.
She became his obsession.
His to hurt – to break – to love.
Together these two are toxic! Talk about adding fuel to a fire.
They both crave the darkness. While Morgana refuses to acknowledge her desires – even when they are clear as day- Julian proudly indulges his. He sets out to break her and expose her inner monster.
Will his own desires push him too far?
Can Morgana’s mind hold up to the challenge?
This is Not a romance
It is a raw – unforgiving – brilliantly devious – splattered with crimson story about lust – desire and betrayal delivered in a story line that will make you question your own sanity
Before I began reading this book I read the description and looked at the cover to consider if I might like to read it. I thought I would based on the description. I am usually pretty curious about dark romances and this sounded like it might fit the bill. The cover was dark and mysterious with a hint of, dare I say, malice? The description was vague enough to catch my intrigue, but I really wish I hadn’t been lured in to reading it. I can honestly say, reflecting on this book, there is no one part that I could identify as my favorite moment in the book. However, when the description of this book states it contains EXTREMELY dark themes it is not an exaggeration. I had a very difficult time reading this book, as it made me extremely uncomfortable with each page I read. My least favorite moments were the most graphic scenes of said malice. I have never read a book that made me feel physically sick until I read this book. I found myself constantly distracted by the inconsistencies in the formatting of the ebook I read. From font size, color, and the font itself. The graphics were inconsistent in their placement. It seems there was an oversight regarding the main characters car which was a BMW at the beginning of the book and a Beetle towards the middle of the book with no explanation for a change. This book really needs editing, as there are several issues with incorrect spelling and missing punctuation. I understand there are people out there who enjoy this type of book which literally takes readers to the absolute brink of discomfort; however, I am clearly not someone who enjoys this type of book. I found myself gritting my teeth and truly feeling uncomfortable while reading. I also found the errors in the book to be a bit too distracting.
Well damn…Hello Darkness my old friend …Malice was DARK, viscous, bloody & not anything that I expected. Julian & Morgana held me captive with their story to the very bitter end. This read was definitely not for the faint of heart and was jam packed full of all the gruesome twists and turns. There is nothing traditional or romantic about J & M this is not a love story; but this story… their story consumed me from page one.
“Monsters weren’t born; they were made” and I feel like this is only just the beginning…
Depravity at its finest!!
This was absolutely insane
I mean what a sick and twisted playground The Chateau Dahlia actually is.
It was just so fucked up and wrong and I devoured every deliciously depraved word.
This really is a story for those with a strong stomach and a deviant streak.
Julian weaves a wicked wanton web to lure his prey, setting his trap ready to spring shut when the time is right, ensnaring Morgana in all his malevolent mercy.
So Julian can sense the skewy moral compass in Morgana, his plan? to nurture and stoke that flame until it shines as bright as his own and he has an equal to stand by his side.
He just didn’t count on the insane connection between them that sings to his sadist and in turn, feeds her inner masochist leaving it sated and sane.
So this is full of very dubious and non-consent throughout and involves some extremely questionable behaviour.
I mean these people are seriously sick I cannot stress that enough, there is hardcore everything in this book and nobody is ever really redeemable not even Morgana.
I adore that this is incredibly unapologetic, and man when Julian and Morgana get freaky that shit is seriously insane.
And my god that shocking finale ( I have read depravity previously so had an inkling) but still seriously what a play.
Bravo, round of applause from me.
Poor Morgana is in so deep she feels there no way forward.
I wish she could have pulled on her reserves more than she did.
There were also some unanswered questions that I would have liked some closure on as well.
So yeh really adored this myself but I like them a lot on the psychotic side.
Please heed my warnings on this one it’s seriously dark, not grey but black as night.
This is not a romantic love story or a girl redeems boy.
It’s a story of monsters that stay that way and certainly doesn’t pull its punches.
If you like that kinda thing then this one is a sure thing.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Macabre: A Dahlia Saga Novel.

The first book in the Dahlia series and here is where it all begins. It is the story of Julian Andreou. This story had me glued to my ereader. It is one of those book you need to step away from a bit before writing a review.
In a lot of ways this is a love story, but not your typical romance. It is dark, disturbing and twisted and has complex characters.
What I loved about Julian is that he knows the difference between right and wrong, but chooses to be the way he is and accepts its fully. Morgana is pretty messed up and very conflicted about everything she feels and does. It makes for an intense read.
My favorite line was: ‘I am not crazy, and neither are you. We’re the perfect mix of sane on the verge of insanity”.
This truly is a dark read and it was an interesting story overall. I loved Julian and Morgana and everything that happened kept me on the edge of my seat!
***4 Stars***
Dark, deviant, disturbing and yet absolutely fascinating!
Now, these words pretty much describe all of this authors work, but there are some that just go a tinsy bit further and it’s only the beginning.
Julian and Morganna fascinated me. Julian is dark, twisted and yet loves in his own deviant way and it’s hard not to be intrigued by him and how he views the world he lives in. Morganna I really liked. She has her own sickness, if that’s how you want to look at things, but is a good person that is forced into a world that fascinates and repulses her at the same time and it was easy to empathize with her and all she had to go through as she navigated her new reality. Their journey is a disturbing one, but one that showed that they had a sort of flow together that made them stronger and weaker at the same time. And as for that ending, that I didn’t see coming but am definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next for them.
Macabre is a re-issue/update of Mercy, which I did not read though I have dove into this world before thanks to Depravity, so I cannot comment on any changes and if they mad the story better or worse, but I can say that I enjoyed the crazy depravity of the world and can’t wait to visit it again!
