From New York Times bestselling author Jana DeLeon, the first in a new thriller series.
Everyone wondered about Shaye Archer’s past. Including Shaye.
Shaye Archer’s life effectively began the night police found her in an alley, beaten and abused and with no memory of the previous fifteen years, not even her name. Nine years later, she’s a licensed private investigator, with a single goal—to get … single goal—to get answers for her clients when there aren’t supposed to be any.
And maybe someday, answers for herself.
Emma Frederick thought her nightmare was over when she killed her abusive husband, but someone is stalking her and tormenting her with mementos from her past. With no evidence to support her claims, the police dismiss her claims as post-traumatic stress, but Shaye is convinced that someone is deliberately terrorizing Emma…playing a cat and mouse game with only one goal in mind.
To kill Emma.

Her books always keep me wanting to read “just one more page” until I end up finishing the book.
This book had me on the edge of my seat until the very end! The first book in the series. I will definitely continue to read the series!
Loved every word of this book.
Rather preposterous story line. Main characters grew tiresome. Wasn’t the worst book I’ve ever read but definitely not the best.
Good
I prefer a book that is not like all the others. I didn’t see this coming until a few pages from the end. Was positive the problem was every one else. Loved it!
LOVE THIS SERIES TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much darker than the Fortune series but an awesome suspenseful series. Love seeing Shaye grow as a person and in her relationships.
I thought this book was excellent! I have read some of the reviews so I was kind of iffy on what to expect but in the end I’m really glad I read this first book in the series as now I have the rest of the series to look forward to reading! ! If you are looking at this book, reading reviews don’t let the lower ones scare you off as this is really a good book. Thank you Jana DeLeon for writing such a good, grabbing series, looking forward to reading more from you!
Dramatic and disturbing in the sense that one character is so mentally twisted. This book pulled me right into the next one, Sinister, as I wanted to learn Shaye Archer’s back story.
Wow fast paced
Interesting, but predictable.
I liked this book until the last quarter, then it just got weird and hard to follow the characters. Who was stalking Emma? I must say, I was surprised to find out. It was creepy when mementos that Emma’s dead husband had given her were left for her to find. It looked like her husband left them, but he was dead. So who was doing this?
Shaye was the PI Emma hired to investigate. She had a mysterious past of her own. We got snippets of what her life was like but I wanted to know more about her and her past. I know she didn’t remember anything but what had been done to try to get her to remember?
This was a good thriller that kept my interest until the last few chapters. Then it got complicated and hard to figure out what was happening. 2.5 stars
Once I got started ,couldn’t put it down.
Love this series, I have read all of them and even started reading this authors other book series.
This story was a bit contrived at the beginning and at times throughout which is reason for only 3 stars. However, as the story unfolded, it kept me guessing. Best, never saw the end twist coming. My book club chose this as our February selection…it will be interesting to learn how the others found it.
This book was quite intriguing with a surprise endind. Recommend!
Keeps youh wanting more.
This book was a very good book. Would give more stars if I could. Will tell my reader friends about this book. Absolutely a wonderful book.
Lots of plot twists. Easy, suspenseful reading.
