From New York Times bestselling author Jana DeLeon, the first in a new thriller series.
Everyone wondered about Shaye Archer’s past. Including Shaye.
Shaye Archer’s life effectively began the night police found her in an alley, beaten and abused and with no memory of the previous fifteen years, not even her name. Nine years later, she’s a licensed private investigator, with a single goal—to get … single goal—to get answers for her clients when there aren’t supposed to be any.
And maybe someday, answers for herself.
Emma Frederick thought her nightmare was over when she killed her abusive husband, but someone is stalking her and tormenting her with mementos from her past. With no evidence to support her claims, the police dismiss her claims as post-traumatic stress, but Shaye is convinced that someone is deliberately terrorizing Emma…playing a cat and mouse game with only one goal in mind.
To kill Emma.

I liked the premise of the plot.
I enjoy it very much. Keep you very much wanting to get to the end.
If you like the miss fortune series, you will like this one
Great read. Surprise ending.
Loved this book. Awesome ending. I will be reading more from Ms. DeLeon.
the best book i have read for awhile,I read every day.
I haven’t read a suspense book in awhile and I had trouble putting the book down. It was a good read.
One of the best books I have read in a long time. Had to buy all the ones in the series.
Part of a great series!
The lives of two women are brought together by unexplained evil. Malevolence truly runs throughout its pages and you will probably only get it as the characters themselves do. Even if you’re good at guessing how things will turn out, you probably won’t here. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
Yet another book I didn’t want to put down! I just had to see how it ended! I didn’t see the ending coming at all!
Really enjoyed this series great characters and theme.
It became less interesting as one proceeded through the book.
enjoyed this book so much. couldnt wait to see what came next. started reading and couldnt put it down until i finished it all. Will definitely look for more from this author
I thought the plot took an interesting turn. (No spoilers!) Read this book, you won’t be disappointed.
A definite edge-of-your-seat page turner!
Good read.
Well written. Entertaining. Will read more by this author
I enjoy reading this author when I’m in the mood for a light read. She incorporates complex female characters in her novels, some strong and intelligent and some silly but much more likable than most authors offer us. This story was less humorous and much scarier than most of the other books I’ve read by the same author, but it was still a good balance and it wasn’t so frightening that it kept me awake after reading it. Having gone through all of Evanovich and Grafton’s novels in the past, I am enjoying DeLeon as an updated and perhaps improved addition to the genre.
Couldn’t put this book down. I loved it.
