From New York Times bestselling author Jana DeLeon, the first in a new thriller series.
Everyone wondered about Shaye Archer’s past. Including Shaye.
Shaye Archer’s life effectively began the night police found her in an alley, beaten and abused and with no memory of the previous fifteen years, not even her name. Nine years later, she’s a licensed private investigator, with a single goal—to get … single goal—to get answers for her clients when there aren’t supposed to be any.
And maybe someday, answers for herself.
Emma Frederick thought her nightmare was over when she killed her abusive husband, but someone is stalking her and tormenting her with mementos from her past. With no evidence to support her claims, the police dismiss her claims as post-traumatic stress, but Shaye is convinced that someone is deliberately terrorizing Emma…playing a cat and mouse game with only one goal in mind.
To kill Emma.

Love this series!!! So different from Jana DeLeon’s other series but none the less this one is a page turner. I can not wait for the next book in the series to come out. Shaye is an inspiration because of the horrible to start to her life and the way she deals with this. So if you want to read/listen to a gook book that will keep you wanting more, I highly suggest the Shaye Archer series. I hope you enjoy!!!
Intense with deep character development and intricate plot. This book was almost too much for me – I’m a ninny in my reading choices – but is so very well written, I mustered up my courage and read on. Highly recommended.
Great read!
I read mysteries stories all the time but until it was revealed by the author i had no idea! Terrific book to read and very hard to put down. The balance between plot and characters in this story is perfect. I believe anyone would enjoy this book. I know i sure did
A great mystery.
Loved it
Main character’s background is loosely wound into the story, which lets you know it will be a continuing series. That doesn’t mean you can’t read this an enjoy the tale. Well told with enough detail and action to keep you interested to the end.
wow unexpected
I was disappointed with the execution of the premise. The hook of the book is basically explained early in the book, leading the rest of the plot to a fairly predictable outcome. I felt the main character had an intriguing background that was never explored.
Great story.Love this author
So-so.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book!!
Very easy to read and like the heroine of this series. Shaye Archer is a very different kind of character and the story moves quickly.
Loved the book. Have now read the first three books in this series. Will definitely read the rest. Pam Webster
This was really a good book, but definitely had a lot of twist and turns. or (twisted) A psychological thriller with a great private eye with her own dark past that makes this a great read…
Very good! And the end was super-creepy…which I loved! 😉
Got a little confused at the end (regarding the number of people involved in a situation and who was who) but probably because I was *listening* rather than reading. And it took me all summer, listening while I mowed grass. xP
Perfect summer reading
Shaye Archer, a P.I., takes on a client, Emma, who is being threatened, Most unbelievable mystery I ever read. I never would have figured out the ending!!!
wow this was quite the thriller. will read the next book
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was extremely well written and kept my interest straight from the beginning. I found it very easy to become engrossed with the main character and her quest for the truth. It’s one of those books that you want to see what happens next but also regret that it is rapidly coming to an end. I look forward to the next book but it will be a challenge for the writer to out do themselves.
