. Fantastic book and loved it with the seventh son of seventh son. Series is one of my favorites and gargoyle shifters. One of my favorite authors also. Faith is a fabulous writer and love her work.
Whew! Someone open a window! Cause it just got hot in here after reading Malakai and Josie’s story!
It may have been a fast wind romance but the action, romance and thrills were non-stop!
Add in some Samoa Culture to the mix and wowza! Plus all the other couple come back and are together stuck in this beautiful island.
But have no fear, there is plenty of action back at home as the others try and safe their homes and try to keep their families safe from a unknown killer who is set out to destroy them!
4 ¾ Stars
I keep waffling on which Stone Society book I love best. I did have three that were my favorites. Now I have four.
Malakai is an excellent continuation of the Stone Society series. The series’ underlying plot continues in this book, sometimes taking over the scenes, and sometimes simmering out of sight but not out of mind. The action is fast-paced and kept me on the edge of my seat as it moves the ongoing story along and sets up the next book(s) with an additional villain making their presence known. Several things are going on that I won’t get into (spoilers), but I will say that they kept me engaged, upset, angry, sad, and wanting to reach through the pages and snatch a knot into the ones causing the problems.
The author brought back many characters from previous books, giving them specific parts to play, but not allowing them to overtake Malakai and Josie’s time on paper as has happened to couples in past books. I enjoyed them without having to become too reacquainted with them.
Josie’s nemesis is quite the pill, and I had a hard time understanding why she tolerated the relationship the way it was, but it did move her storyline along and placed her where she needed to be. I wanted to thump her though.
Malakai, other than his life on the island and his gift, is the standard good-guy gargoyle, with money to burn, and loyalty and passion coming out of his pores. I want one.
The couple’s story is sexy, smart, and exciting, with added depth and power given to this gargoyle with the seventh son’s gift. I enjoyed their time on the island and the manifestation of Malakai’s gift and its effect on Josie.
The sexy times are very well done. This author has consistently given her characters great passion and oh-so-hot follow through. Whew. That’s some good stuff.
There is one scene that was anticlimactic for me; I wanted more fanfare and excitement on the page, but…we all know about wishes and pigs and bacon all around. I did get a boon later that made up for it.
So, I love this book. It feels like the early books, which are my favorites.
I look forward to more from this author.
I just finished reading Malakai, book 13 in Faith Gibson’s Stone Society series, and it is AMAZING!
If you have not read this PNR series, you should add each and every book and audiobook in the series.
Love is Love is the ongoing theme throughout each of these books, as mated couples find each other and families overcome obstacles that could tear them apart.
Faith Gibson is a phenomenal author who reaches deep into our hearts and makes our days a little brighter with her storytelling!
An excellent addition
Josie, a paralegal at her family’s law firm, is rescued late one night by Malakai, MMA trainer with a hidden side, when she gets a flat tire a few blocks from her apartment. As the story progresses secrets are disclosed, rejection starts their woes, and there are too many unknown foes. Faith Gibson’s Malakai is an excellent addition to her near future post-apocalyptic romance series. While some of the major plots have ben resolved, there are still plenty of questions to be answered.
Excellent read. Action from beginning to end. Lots of things going on so even though this is a standalone I highly recommend reading from the very beginning of the series. It’s easier to keep up with everyone and everything going on.
I can’t wait to see whose story is next.
I read an advanced copy of this book.
I’ve been with the series from the beginning and IMO they just keep getting better and better!! This author always has well developed and the storyline is intriguing. Kai just wanted to find his mate and be settled like all of the other mated shifters. At the family owned gym he thinks he found his mate in one of the women’s classes he teaches but to find out it is her sister. Josie and Presley couldn’t be more opposite, whilst Presley is outgoing and the life of the party Josie is shy and reserved. Josie is in the back at all family functions and basically looked over, but Kai sees her for the beautiful person and soul she is. He just needs to convince her of that and keep her safe because all of the mates to the Stone society have come into danger. I loved this book and highly recommend it!!
Malakai (Stone Society Book 13) by Faith Gibson is the next book in a series I just absolutely love. Malakai aka Kai knows his mate is someone who has come into contact with Presley, one of the ladies in his class. Eventually he finds his mate. She just so happens to be Presley’s sister. Joselynn is the total opposite of her sister who is overbearing, emotionally abusive and thinks the world revolves around her. Josie is the paralegal at her father’s law firm along with Presley. With serious self esteem issues she has a hard time accepting this good looking sexy guy is interested in her. There journey to each other is rocky especially with the fact Kai is the seventh son of the seven son which is a blessing or a curse. Due to the ongoing war it seems the mates are always in danger. Once again the author has written a story that I can’t get enough of. All her characters pull me in and want me to know about them. Also seeing the other characters from her other books and what they are up to always is a treat. Like I say her character development is the best. An action pack story that had me on the edge of my seat. I have to say that I initially wasn’t interested in Kai’s story. He was a minor player in the other books but I was so wrong. Kai’s story is all that and a bag of chips and a juicy. I am so looking forward to reading more about him and Josie. 5 exceptional stars for me.
