Seems simple until you account for the bloodied twist they each have.
They say in all chaos there’s calculation.
For my sake I hope that’s true because if we’re going to play, I’m playing to win.
Malady is a complete novel. There’s no cliffhanger, but it must be read after Crucible.

Before you read Malady you need to have read Crucible. This book picks up right where Crucible left off and it is time to play a game and Jace and Kaiden are playing for keeps. For the first time ever it would seems. However Rae has to win these games to survive or face really scary and severe consequences. These two have it all planned out on how to make her their’s. You will be shocked and your head spinning from all the twists and turns. This book too was shorter and Crucible and I still have questions that I wish had been answered in this book especially at the end. If you like dark and twisted and absolutely mind blowing then you don’t want to miss this one.
Let’s play a game…
After reading Crucible I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book, it didn’t disappoint.
It is twisted dark, it was fast paced from start to end it pulled me in and didn’t let go till the very end.
Jace and Kaiden are psycho’s but they are also hot! it was well written. It just fell short of 5 stars for me cos I am not real sure on the ending I felt like I needed a little more, I felt like something was missing for me anyway, but apart from that the book was a great read and again this is only my opinion.
Natalie sure knows how to tell a great story.
Please note….you have to read Book One Crucible to understand what’s going on…
Twisted Mind Games… Secrets & Lies, Lots of darkness, A unique & unexplained connection all parts of this fast paced adventure that had me white knuckling my kindle and screaming WTF at my kindle more than once! Seriously, this book was jam packed full of all the dark and twisted and that ending?!?! Certainly left me wanting more…I cannot wait to see where Natalie Bennett takes this series next!
First off I want to say Raelynn is a bada** I loved how she handled everything that was thrown at her. The Twins now I wanted to punch them a couple times!! But I also couldn’t help but love those two beautifully twisted psychos. I was on edge the whole time reading this I couldn’t put it down. Super excited to find out more about this dark and twisted family and the games they like to play. This is 5 for me highly recommend!!! I feel like it’s going to be one of my new favorite series!!
This is the 2nd part of this series and continues straight on from where Crucible ended. I was intrigued as to where this game of hide and seek was taking us with Rae, Jace and Kaiden. This is a good story which is dark and twisted and is fast paced and not for the feint-at-heart. The only downside in my opinion only, is that this story felt as if there was something missing. I look forward to reading more from this talented author.
Malady (Deviant Games #2) by Natalie Bennett. You will need to read Crucible before you read this book. The book picks up right after the Crucible ends. Raelynn is now involved with twin brothers Kaiden and Jace and realizes they are the cause of the missing women posters at the diner. She knows she needs to get out of town but that ship has sailed. Panicked, she now finds herself involved in several terrifying games orchestrated by Kaiden and Jace. If she survives these games she thinks she might win her freedom but the brothers have other plans for her. The story is a quick read and wets the dark, sick and twisted appetite just enough to hook you. I look forward to the next book to get my questions answered as to why her and if escape is actually possible. 4 stars for me.
This is the second book in the Deviant Games series, and reading Crucible is a must before beginning this one. I have never wanted the male characters to just lose at their own tortuous games, Natalie has definitely made these two men ones that I can’t get behind at all. I always love the male and female characters of her stories but these two men I just wanna smack silly. These are the men you love to hate because they are just too arrogant for their own good and you wanna see them lose. They like to believe that their games are for Rae’s own good, I think they are both a little spoiled and a little more than crazy. Rae is a truly strong woman who refuses to let men change her, that is until the twins. But do Jase and Kaiden ever truly change Rae or does she have several tricks left to be shown? Jase and Kaiden are both extremely charming and deadly. Women are truly just toys to play childhood games with and then discard. That is until Rae shows that she’s not some meek, weak woman who will crumble. As a matter of fact the question remains will she beat them at their own games or with a game of her own. There is definitely a lot left of their story to be told and I’m looking forward to it.
This was a quick gritty read that ended the story begun in the Crucible. It was just as full of violence, danger, and death as the first book. Raelynn tried to figure out the games and avoid the traps, but consequences were unexpected. Though the ending was not unexpected, I still liked the story. The same triggers from the first story exist so read forewarned.
I received an ARC of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Malady by Natalie Bennett is book Two in the Deviant Games Series. This continues the story of Rae, Jace and Kaiden, so you should read the previous book ‘Crucible’ first. This is a Dark romance read so there is some things that may be issue for you in this book/series. This book does pick up where we left of in the last book. Jace and Kaiden are still ‘playing’ with Rae who is trying to get the upper hand. This book does end to set us up for the next installment in this series.
I’ve been so excited for the next step for Rae, Jace, and Kaiden. Jace and Kaiden have this sinister air about them that just makes them utterly captivating. Rae tries to fight long and hard, but soon realizes you can’t escape the psychotically beautiful men that have deemed her worthy to be theirs. Through the ashes of her moral compass I feel like she will emerge a beautiful deviant!
I can’t wait for more from this family!
This starts off where Crucible leaves off, so you do need to read that before hand. The game that Rae has found herself the player of is taking a turn for the worse. Now she is realizing that the fate of others is in her hands, but she is still just a pawn of sorts. Is there any hope that she can win?
I have been needing this book since I finished Crucible last year. Once again giving us some awesomely twistedness, Natalie Bennett gives disturbing a new meaning. These are not for the faint of heart, or squeamish. What I did find a bummer is that this is a novella and the ending, I wanted more from it than just bam it’s done. I feel like they had more story to give; maybe there is more in the future, one can hope. I give this 3.5 stars.
