Action packed, emotional roller-coaster filled with witty and engaging charters, dangerous twists and heart racing turns. Really enjoyed this adventure that had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
great addition to the great series
A fun day out in a boat gone wrong. Victoria found herself chained at the bottom of the sea. A gorgeous man–a merman–found her and said he was rescuing her. What she saw was impossible but so much better.
Demon was hunting for dangers. The gorgeous woman couldn’t be dangerous or could she. He would save her. He would be fortunate like his brothers and have a mate of his own. If only she would agree and he could keep her from her enemies.
A short offering from the author’s Lords of the Abyss series. The world building is wonderful as are the characters. She manages to give us a complete story in a short novella. Good characters, steam and a HEA. This is one of my favorite series of Ms. Pillows.

Victoria has been slowly undergoing the change from human to Mer. Attacked by the Olympians, they cast her into the sea when she overheard something she wasn’t supposed to hear. Now she is close to becoming a Scylla.
Demon was undertaking a routine patrol when he came across Victoria. He struggles with her to get her inside the dome and takes on all those who would have him cast her back out. He knows he an save her from becoming a Scylla.
A little vignette into the Lords of the Abyss series. This particular series is not one of my favourites from this author but in any book I review I can still see the positives. There are great characters, danger, action and a great love story.

Making Waves is book 5 in the Lords of the Abyss series that features mermen from the fabled Atlantis (Atlantes here) and their journey to redemption and love. The books can technically be read as standalones, though you’ll miss a bit of the surrounding story. Mrs. Pillow does a good job of catching you up, however, so if you’re starting here you won’t be lost. The book is written in third person omniscient and from both characters’ perspectives.
Demon (Brutus’ identical twin from the previous book) finally gets his chance and boy is he happy about it! He’s not as adorably clueless as his brother, though not by much, but he is absolutely determined that Victoria be his and he doesn’t let confusion stop him. Even when she honestly thinks he’s a demon and she’s in hell. For her part, Victoria played a crucial roll in the overall series and certainly dealt with the harshest scenarios to date. Thankfully, they manage to muddle through.
A story filled with mermen, steamy romance, action, and age old curses, this book is a quick but fun read.
Making Waves, the 5th book in Pillow’s Lords of the Abyss series, is a fun undersea adventure that builds on and deepens the mythos of the series, and definitely is best enjoyed by those who have read other series novels. It can be read by newbies, I’d say, but there is something of a learning curve to wrapping your head around the story.
For returning readers… Making Waves is an eventful romance that opens up all sorts of new aspects the undersea continent and those who are cursed to live there. Like others in the series, there’s a lot of story going on with some hot sex and insta-love elements and a few old-fashioned hero bits tucked away. The romance itself is good, but somewhat lost against the events going on in the story. There’s a nice HEA to round things off, but the real payoff for this story is in how it advances the bigger series story questions. I enjoyed the read, and the revelations, and look forward to where Pillow takes the story next.

This was a great book to curl up with, this is the first one I have read but I will be checking out the rest of this author’s books. I was sucked right into this book and could not wait to see what happened next; I would definitely recommend it I did not want to stop reading.
The guy’s name is Demon, which would normally be a red flag for me. Considering she was chained to the bottom of the ocean and he rescued her, I would be willing to overlook the flaw. Personally, convincing me to stay with a devoted merman after almost being murdered wouldn’t be too hard. “Wanna go home?” Nah, I’m good here.

Under the Sea !! . . .
Victoria had drowned when her vacation rental boat sunk, and she was sent to the dark abyss of the ocean. She was trapped on the bottom, fully aware of everything, breathing the salt water, with too much time to think about her past mistakes. Some of the sea creatures tried to snack on her and it was very unpleasant. Creatures called Olympians, trying unsuccessfully to act like goddesses, held her prisoner and attempted to drown her a second time; however, much of her time with them wasn’t clear because she was still dazed and confused. Her legs had evolved into a fishlike tail! But she was chained to the bottom of the ocean and could not kick free. Her survival depended on making it to a dome that looked like a snow globe, but there was little chance of that happening.
Demon, a Merr Hunter, was patrolling with his brother, Cain, for mermaids and Scylla. If the Merrs did not breathe oxygen in the dome now and then, they would change into mindless Scylla who overturned boats on the surface of the ocean. The mermaids wanted to overthrow the King and take over the world of Atlantes for their Queen. The brothers spotted a traitorous Olympian mermaid, Pirene, and were taking her captive back to the dome. However, before they could do so, the guard worm from under the dome swam out and swallowed her.
Demon suddenly heard a voice – the Merrs communicated telepathically in the water – and had no idea where it came from. It sounded half crazed and made little sense. But Demon had been hoping that, like his two brothers, he would find a human to rescue and make his own. Would Victoria accept him in that way? Was she truly “the One” for Demon? You can be sure that this will not be an easy accomplishment – Demon will definitely have to work for this one if he hopes to succeed!
This was a very different story than I expected, and I liked it for its originality. Atlantes sounded like the origin story for Atlantis, being Poseidon’s curse on the Merrs who had been human but were thrown into the sea to live in the dome which moved along with the ocean currents. Pretty interesting tale! The interaction of the characters was also good. This is an interesting series and I think the reader might enjoy it.
Welcome to the underwater world of Atlantes! This is an entertaining paranormal romance involving mermen and mermaids. The world building is incredible as is the mythology and the storyline just pulls you in. It’s a short but sweet love story with action, adventure and romance and Demon and Victoria are fantastic characters!
Demon now has a chance at a happy union with Victoria, who drowned when the boat she was on capsized. The Olympians have her held down at the bottom of the ocean, hoping to turn her into a Scylla, but Demon hears her and rescues her while she is still changed into a mer. Loved the characters and the storyline was terrific, with lots of action and intrigue. Romance takes a while as there are misconceptions about both of them. The ending was great.

I absolutely loved this book and the romance was on point. This author has a twist to her stories that I never see coming and her books hook you from page one. I devoured this book in one sitting and want to read more right now!

I enjoyed this “Lords of the Abyss” story. It is a short quick read about Demon and Victoria’s story. It is nicely developed for the length. Demon, a Merr Hunter, discovers his mate on the body of the ocean floor. This is an interesting and intriguing story with mythology, humor, passion and good twists.
Great book!
The book is skillfully written, has some sexy time and very interesting characters!
I will definitely read the next book
This series has a fun premise! Love the whole Mer-people finding mates scenario; sweet and bits of spice! Plus, a cool underwater setting, and some bad guy/gal action. Victoria has some not so nice people out to get her, so it’s lucky that Demon comes along to help. Good chemistry between Merman Demon and Victoria; both are likable characters, and they work well together. Quick, entertaining read. Enjoying this series!
The chemistry between Victoria and Demon is wonderful, th is story is filled with action and adventure. The interaction between the characters is great. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book ,as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
#5 in the Lords of the Abyss series. Perhaps not quite as good as some of her other books this was still an enjoyable read.. Demon is a lonely merman and when he finds Victoria anchored at the bottom of the ocean he thinks his dreams have come true. However he must convince her that he is the (mer)man for her. Plenty of action keeps the story flowing.

I love this series, and have enjoyed all of the books so far! Loved Demon, really enjoyed Victoria, and their determination to be together no matter the odds! This book is short but full of action, adventure, danger and romance. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series.

A new installment in this series about mermen in Atlantis. Demon finds Victoria chained in the ocean. A hostile group of mermaids has taken her to the ocean. Demon saves her and together they live happily ever after. Only….. Victoria turns out not to be safe yet, what are the mermaids up to? This story ends somewhat on a cliffhanger, in that it is not yet clear what the enemy mermaids are up to. It is an accessible, entertaining, light-hearted story with a fairytale quality, who has never fantasized about Atlantis?
