A new standalone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy by New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting.
Cosy Felton is great at her job—she knows just how to handle the awkwardness that comes with working at an adult toy store. So when the hottest guy she’s ever seen walks into the shop looking completely overwhelmed, she’s more than happy to turn on the charm and help him purchase all of the items on his list.
Griffin Mills is using his business trip in Las Vegas as a chance to escape the broken pieces of his life in New York City. The last thing he wants is to be put in charge of buying gag gifts for his friend’s bachelor party. Despite being totally out of his element, and mortified by the whole experience, Griffin is pleasantly surprised when he finds himself attracted to the sales girl that helped him.
As skeptical as Cosy may be of Griffin’s motivations, there’s something about him that intrigues her. But sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas and when real life gets in the way, all bets are off. Filled with hilariously awkward situations and enough sexual chemistry to power Sin City, Making Up is the next standalone in the Shacking Up world.

I just adore a sweet and swoony romance and I can always count on Helena to deliver just that. Making up was the perfect amount of funny, sexy and angsty. A feel good romance trifecta if you will.
Both Griffin and Cosy were charming. I loved their quirky banter and the overwhelming chemistry they had. Cosy is exactly the kind of heroine I like to read about, she’s funny, confident and focused on what she wants. I loved the take on her past romances. She’s not exactly an innocent but she’s not naive about things either.
I know people love the bad boys in romance, I however tend to love the good guys in books. Griffin was such a great character. He was romantic, respectful and he fell hard for Cosy. His past has left his heart a little bruised, but he never stopped trying to show Cosy how much he cared for her, or how important she was to him.
This one gets all of the heart eyes from me. Opposites attract is always such a fun trope to read and with Huntings fabulous spin, it is easily a new favorite.
Usually after getting done reading a Helena Hunting book I can’t stop thinking about the story and obsessing over the characters. This wasn’t really the case with Making Up. Cosy and Griffin’s story was good and sexy but I didn’t feel the connection I usually do with this authors writing. That something was just missing for me.
Cosy and Griffin meet in an unusual and awkward circumstance. At the sex shop Cosy works for. Griffin is picking up gag gifts for a bachelor party. He’s instantly attracted to Cosy and tries to take her out but is immediately shut down by a wary Cosy. Which is understandable, I mean an adult store probably isn’t where you’re going to find your future husband. Griffin is persistent and eventually the two get together.
Making Up was super quick for me to get through I had it done in a day. The book had good conflict and neither main character annoyed me except for Cosy’s sister! Overall the story was cute but it just didn’t reach the same standard that I have become accustomed to when it comes to this author.
What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.
I love these quirky characters and laugh out loud reads from Helena! If you’re looking for a romantic and entertaining read – BOOM – you’ve found it!
When Cosy spies a hot suit about to enter the adult toy shop where she works, she hustles herself up the sidewalk, as to not miss letting him in. A girl’s gotta make that commission!
It’s obvious Griffin is uncomfortable in the shop, he says he’s there to buy gag gifts for his friend’s bachelor party, but Cosy doesn’t judge (much) and she needs that commission, so she swans around in her skimpy outfit, determined to give Griffin what he wants *wink wink*. But when he leaves her his number in hopes she calls him, there’s no chance she’ll actually go out with a customer. Who knows what kind of man he is…
Luckily for her, he turns out to be an absolute sweetheart, if one with some demons. Neither is looking for a serious relationship, though. She because she plans on finishing college finally, getting that internship, and traveling as much as possible. He because he was burned in the past, and he won’t be in Vegas that long. Plus, there’s that decade of years between them, and she just may still be holding onto her v-card. Even though what they start is supposed to be casual, we all know that casual rarely stays casual. The question is, whose heart will be more broken when their expiration date comes?
I FREAKIN LOVE Cosy & Griffin together!! They are so sweet together. And did I say hot?! Their chemistry fairly leapt out of my Kindle. WHEW! The Shacking Up world is one of my favorite series and Making Up is the best story yet. Griffin is swoony af, a curious blend of awkward and vulnerable with hints of alpha possessiveness when he thinks his claim on Cosy’s heart and body is being threatened. And Cosy? That girl is a hoot. I loved her no filter mouth, how she didn’t throw herself at him, but obviously was falling for him all along. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a rom-com as much as I did while reading Making Up. Now if Lincoln’s story (Handle With Care) would magically appear on my Kindle right now, I’d be a happy woman!

Not a surprise here… I loved this book!! Helena’s books continue to make me smile! Her heroine’s all have special qualities that make readers want to be friends with them and the men…well, her men are the BEST book boyfriends around! Cozy and Griffin are no different. Making Up takes place in the Shaking Up world and I have to say, I’ve been looking forward to Griffin’s story for awhile now. This didn’t disappoint! There were some “WTF” moments and lots of hilariousness ( is that a word??) Some things were not what I expected and I loved that! Don’t tell Violet, but Cozy is my favorite of Helena’s characters.
Helena Hunting is one of my favorite authors! Her books always, always keep me entertained and reading every free minute I have…
I love this fun series, love the Mills men so much! Griffin is such a fantastic character, man, catch…the list could go on.
Cosy is absolutely adorable, quirky, unique…love her!
If you like to crack up laughing, if you love love in your books that’s light hearted and emotional at the same time, you’ll love this book and series! You also may want to love sex toys, travel and adventure, just sayin’ lol
Super fun read, highly recommend
I really enjoyed this read about Cosy and Griffin! Their chemistry was undeniable and so sassy! Their banter regarding their age difference and how different they were was quite amusing.
I loved Cozy from the get go! She was everything you want to see in a young, spunky, confident heroine. She danced to the beat of her own drum and that’s what Griffin found himself so attracted to. Despite the fact that he was a super successful hotel heir, that didn’t effect their spark and commitment to one another. I loved the slow burn of this romance and how it all unfolded.
I didn’t like Cozy’s sister Nevah at all! She brought so much drama and chaos to the story. It made my head hurt. Cozy was so well put together and driven and in comes her sloppy sister to ruin it all.
Parts were predictable and safe but overall the read was exactly what I’d hoped for! The “second chance” story line drew me in further and made me really want these two to work it out and get their HEA. I adored the ending of this read! I can’t wait to go back and read the first books in the series.
Sweet, quirky and with just the right mix steaminess Making Up kept me entertained from beginning to end.
Cosy’s carefree personality charmed me from the start. Her view on life was completely the opposite of Griffin’s and I enjoyed watching as she took his world and shook it up. Griffin kept me swooning even in the moments where I wanted to smack some sense into him. Their witty banter kept me laughing out loud the while book through.
Making Up was a delightfully awkward and sexy romantic comedy that left me with a huge smile.
3.5 stars
I’ve enjoyed the Shaking Up series so I was very excited that we were getting more. Making Up is about Lex’s and Bane’s older brother, Griffin. I really liked Griffin-he was a little reserved but also had some alpha traits. Griffin and Cosy’s meet-cute was fun. It started the story off right and I couldn’t wait to see how their story would go. What came next was a sweet, sexy, entertaining, a little angsty read. Griffin and Cosy were opposites of each other but they were what each other needed. I enjoyed the buildup of their relationship as the story progressed. Both deserved the best and I wanted them to get that. I also enjoyed getting glimpses of Bane, Lex, Lincoln, Ruby, and Amalie-they were delightful. Overall, Making Up was a great read.
An all-new romantic comedy from the amazing Helena Hunting! Do not miss this one!
Listen to my face…you listening?
Cosy & Griffin are the cutest…do you hear me the cutest!
Griffin is totes out of his element when he comes across spunky & sassy Cosy.
Cosy is def feeling Griffin when she sees him, but she is skeptical to say the least.
I would say that Griffin sort of grows on her over time. They have amazing chemistry and a bit of an age difference, but age is but a number.
Ohhhh man the sex between these two is famazing!!!! Helena done did it again with this story…it will have you staying up late just to finish one more chapter.

AMAZING!!!! this book was simply amazing!! I couldn’t put it down! I loved it! this author has a way with words, that will suck you in and it won’t let you go until you’re done with the book!
This was a fun, funny, sexy story. If you’ve enjoyed Helena Hunting’s books before, you’re going to enjoy this too. Not only will you laugh but there are also some WTF moments thrown in that make you go “plot twist.” Loved the chemistry between Griffin and Cosy. It was there from the beginning and only grew as the story went on.
Making Up is a stand alone book that is part of Helena Hunting’s Shacking Up series. It’s a romantic comedy with a very unique meet cute. Cosy and Griffin has a decade age difference but it doesn’t stop them from starting a relationship which starts out casual but pretty soon starts getting serious. But then to get to their HEA this couple had to deal with a lot of obstacles, sometimes over the top and with unbelievable but never ever boring! What results is a hilarious romance with a lot of sidetrips, a lot of sex and sweet moments between to lovable individuals who just wants to be with someone they love.
Griffin is my favorite Mills Brother! He is private, sexy, closet freak, super duper cute when he meets Cosy Felton at her job.
Helena Hunting instantly draws us into these two characters as soon as they meet.
I was laughing, swooning hard for Cosy and Griffin in their adventures in Vegas fun living lifestyle of craziness.
Oh, yes a virgin adult toy expert and an older business man is a match made in Sin city heaven!
I was blushing just like Cosy & Griffin in all the outrageous, fun loving awkward moments these two had at getting to know each other.
Plenty of steamy times as well as hardcore chemistry that made Making Up my favorite book in this Shaking Up series.
Get ready to have Griffin capture your heart just like he did with Cosy and want to have tons of “Make Up” time with him as possible.

5 popped!
This was a cute book. Cosy is a 22 year old college student with major wanderlust. Her philosophy is to travel and enjoy life now, instead of wait decades until she retires and hope she’s healthy enough to enjoy it then. Griffin is in town for a few months for work. They end up dating, and agree to see where things lead them once their time in Vegas is up.
The title must be because these two do a lot of making up. Poor Griffin has enough baggage to fill one of his hotels. So many things get in the way of their relationship. But in the end, love always prevails.
I liked Cosy a lot. Her outlook on work and travel and living her life is refreshing. And I came to really like her sister Nev. She is fiercely devoted to her sister when it counts. Cosy and Griffiin just work so well together, too.
This is a great summer read. Its fun and enjoyable and the perfect happily ever after.
GAHHH whyyyy did I wait soooo long to read Helena Hunting?? This book is perfection! Cosy and Griffin are incredibly charming, the writing is flawless. I devoured this book in an afternoon, I couldn’t put it down nor did I want to. Real life totally forgotten, I was sucked in the Vegas spotlight that was the blossoming relationship of Cosy and Griffin. Their chemistry was off the charts addicting, combined with snappy wit and HAWT passion. They are the perfect couple!
Every page of Making Up is so smart, the writing is effortless, the characters true to themselves. With obstacles standing in their way, Cosy and Griffin had a thousand reasons to not be together, but their attraction was undeniable from their first meeting at the sex shop. From then on, they were inseparable. Their story is smooth, funny, sexy and I loved every bit of it.
I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the Shacking Up series as it seems like I missed quite a bit before Making Up (but this is a complete standalone). I can’t wait to submerse myself in HH’s amazing world.
I feel like it’s been so long since I read a Helena Hunting book! I’m seriously kicking myself for not diving into the Shacking Up world sooner. I loved Making Up!! Griffin Mills is so adorable. He’s sweet, kind, a little awkward but oh so freaking sexy!!
Griffin and Cosy meet under odd circumstances at Cosy’s work, which make Griffin extremely uncomfortable but it’s so funny to watch him squirm. Cosy and Griffin have Instant chemistry. They fit
Together so perfectly and have the best relationship.
It’s funny and sweet! I couldn’t put the book down and read it in one sitting. I’m definitely going back and reading the other books in this series. Helena is a master at the sweet, rom coms that you’ll never want to end!!
FIVE “COSY” STARS!
Available now!
Rom Com lovers, gather ’round! I hope y’all are ready.
One thing I can confirm about this author is that she delivers with every. Single. Book. Making Up can absolutely be read as a standalone and I loved every second of Cosy and Griffins’ story.
This book was the PERFECT blend of swoon worthy moments, sexy times and laugh out loud comedy. Helena somehow manages to come up with insanely cool ideas and add in a touch of realism to help you vibe more with her characters and realise that whatever they are going through could and does very much happen.
I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and I’m eagerly awaiting Helena’s next release, whatever that may be, because she always manages to leave me a little in awe and a lot in love, well after I’ve turned the last page!

I love Helena Hunting’s Shacking Up World and I was so excited to get my hands on another hot Mills brother in Making Up. Griffin Mills, brother of Bane (Shacking Up) and Lex (Hooking Up), was with Imogen for what seems like forever, so when I found out the heroine in his book was not in fact her, I was desperate to know what happened between them.
Griffin meets Cosy in an adult store when he picks up some items for a bachelor party. He is so out of his element and she seems to know just what he is looking for, she is an employee after all. After he leaves Cosy isn’t expecting to see him again so when he shows up weeks later wanting a date with her, it’s a total surprise.
Cosy and Griffin are in totally different stages of life. There is an eleven year age gap between them and they are not on the same page when it comes to dating. Griffin wants to settle down, Cosy wants to see the world. Griffin is a serious relationship kind of guy and Cosy does casual and runs when feelings get involved. It’s also not like her to date guys his age but there is a connection they cannot deny and they can’t stop themselves from taking a chance.
Griffin and Cosy are adorable together. Griffin took some major hits when his fiancé became his ex and he isn’t used to asking girls out which makes he attempts comical. Cosy is hilarious and so unlike Imogen that she is a breath of fresh air for Griffin. They get along so well no matter their differences. The banter is sweet, witty, and quick, and it flows naturally, keeping a smile on my face.
“So . . . at the risk of killing any game I might’ve had, I wanted to tell you that I had a great time tonight.”
“You realize calling me two hours after you dropped me off flushes all your game right down the toilet.”
Their attraction only gets stronger the more time they spend together and their chemistry is electric. The heat they produce is combustible. I loved that they can be themselves and put their insecurities out in the open without fear. The are so sweet together and Griffin is so swoony!
“You’re perfect.”
I snort. “Oh my God. You need to drop all the lines today. The surprise and the latte are enough.”
“It’s not a line, Cosy. If I had a checklist with boxes to tick off, you would be the person who appeared at the end of the quiz as my perfect match.”
This story is full of tons of twists and Griffin and Cosy must face several challenges if they want to be together. The emotion is all over the place, the ups and downs feel real. I wasn’t expecting the heartache, and the whiplash is almost overwhelming as the hits keep coming. There is a lot of drama in this story and at times Cosy overreacted making things more difficult. Honestly, I would have liked to have less drama but at least each conflict did not take forever to resolve.
Overall, Making Up is a hilariously entertaining and wonderfully emotional rom com full of humor, heart, and heat, and a great addition to the series. I’ll add that I loved the small scenes with Griffin’s cousin, Lincoln, because every time he is around I become more intrigued with him. His book, Handle with Care, is next in the series and I can’t wait!
