**”**Narrators Muffy Newtown and Jacob Morgan will make listeners blush and laugh their way through this Las Vegas-based romantic comedy in which the sin extends beyond the city…Newtown is great at emphasizing character individuality and sneaking humor into her delivery. A new standalone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy by New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting.
Cosy Felton is great at her job—she knows just how to handle the awkwardness that comes with working at an adult toy store. So when the hottest guy she’s ever seen walks into the shop looking completely overwhelmed, she’s more than happy to turn on the charm and help him purchase all of the items on his list.
Griffin Mills is using his business trip in Las Vegas as a chance to escape the broken pieces of his life in New York City. The last thing he wants is to be put in charge of buying gag gifts for his friend’s bachelor party. Despite being totally out of his element, and mortified by the whole experience, Griffin is pleasantly surprised when he finds himself attracted to the sales girl that helped him.
As skeptical as Cosy may be of Griffin’s motivations, there’s something about him that intrigues her. But sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas and when real life gets in the way, all bets are off. Filled with hilariously awkward situations and enough sexual chemistry to power Sin City, Making Up is the next standalone in the Shacking Up world.

”I’ll take the uncertainty of a future with him, rather than the certainty of his absence and the hole it will leave in my life.”
With Making Up, Helena Hunting delivers another hilarious romcom in the Shacking Up series. It was about time that Griffin got his very own story that will lift your mood in record time.
I enjoyed every second of this book. The story ran smooth, in a perfect pace and aces the balance of lighter and heavier topics.
”You’re not a rebound or a fling; you’re exactly what I want and I’ll do whatever I can to keep you in my life.”
With Griffin and Cosy we get another fantastic fit out of this authors feather. Even though there is a little age gap and they are both in different points in life, they balance each other perfectly.
Cosy is exactly what Griffin needs to detach himself and find himself more in this Mills Hotel imperium world. Whereas Griffin is exactly what Cosy needs to give her some more stability and guidance and to push her towards her goals.
”Talk to me. Fall apart on me. Show me your weakness, so I can give you my strength.”
Making Up is a funny and highly entertaining story with great characters that will steal your heart at first sight.
”You’re the only person I want to road trip through this life with.”
Just released: another installment in the Shacking Up series! Who’s down for a sassy heroine, an awkward & damaged alpha hero, and (maybe my fav) an age gap? Making Up by Helena Hunting is live!
My newest addiction from Helena Hunting!!! If you’ve read her books by now, we all know she’s the queen of Rom-Com, if you haven’t then now you know. From the first page, sh has you hooked.
Making Up is the fourth book in the Shacking Up world. This story follows Cosy and Griffin. I thought I loved Bane, then I read, Lex and Pierce but Griffin has to be my favorite one so far. He owns my heart.
The story has everything you’d expect from an HH book, quirkiness, witty humor, amazing female and sexy as hell alpha.
I always fall in love with HH stories but I’m head over heels in love with Griffin. I love everything about him and this angsty book. Cosy is funny as hell, holds nothing back and is the kind of person you want to be in your tribe.
Thank you, Helena, for my book boyfriend and for an even better story!!!

Helena Hunting’s MAKING UP (Shacking Up #4) is an original and entertaining read. Griffin Mills draws the short straw and is assigned the task of buying gag gifts for his friend’s bachelor party. He is attracted to the adult toy store saleswoman, Cosy Felton. Talk about an awkward situation. This adult contemporary romance takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MAKING UP was a fun story. The characters are lovable and have great chemistry. Cosy is not what you would expect from an adult toy store salesperson; namely because she’s lacking in experience. She is a free-spirited college student. Griffin is a hard-working businessman who is known for being serious. They seem like opposites, but the two make a great couple that compliment each other.
I enjoy Helena Hunting’s writing style and humor. The story had thought-provoking obstacles. It was believable and amusing. I love how the story ended. I recommend this book to people that enjoy humorous contemporary romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Cosy has never had a serious relationship and she has no plans of changing that situation. Griffin shouldn’t even be thinking serious thoughts about anyone ever since he broke up with his fiance.
They didn’t anticipate the lust simmering between them and now keeping away from each other doesn’t seem like a viable option.
I think Griffin and Cosy’s meet cute was hands down the funniest. Him being all uncomfortable and awkward and her enjoying the heck out of his pain. I loved it and it got me invested in the story 100%.
Griffin is the adorable cavemanish man that you’d love to see in action. I think he was AMAZING with his charming smiles, cocky attitude, heartfelt confessions and load of baggage. He is a complicated man despite outward appearances and I loved the layers to his personality. I love that he didn’t waste anytime in telling Cosy exactly how he felt.
Cosy is young and funny and just a ray of sunshine. I love her wanderlust spirit and despite being so young I adore the fact that she is so grounded. She’s the kind of girl who lights up a room and you can’t help but be friends with her. I love her confidence.
I had such a great time reading this story. it was funny, warm and so heartfelt. I just had a little troubling connecting to it but otherwise I think it was a blast. This series is definitely a favourite of mine and I cannot wait the next story.
A Vegas romance with an age gap!!! I’m dying for this new release from Helena Hunting!

Helena Hunting has a knack when it comes to developing hilarious and relateable characters and crafting humorous plot lines. Making Up has both these elements and has easily earned a spot on my favorite books of 2019 list.
Cosy is in college. She’s working towards earning a degree and, to support herself, has a job at sex toy store. She’s the kind of character that I just want to pluck off the pages of the book and drop into my own social circle. She’s funny, sometimes naive, sassy, and craves adventure in life. She’s up for anything and lives every day like it’s going to be her last. I loved her character and she felt like a kindred spirit for me.
Griffin is a bit of the polar opposite to Cosy. He’s an heir to Mills Hotels, so he’s comfortable in life. He’s not interested in relationships, but is open to flings. He lives a bit more on the serious side, especially when it comes to the work he does for the hotels.
Griffin and Cosy cross paths in the funnest of places—the sex shop she works at! He’s immediately smitten with her and despite the fact that he isn’t looking for a relationship, he asks Cosy out and the two start seeing one another.
There was so much chemistry between Griffin and Cosy. They clicked with each other right off the bat and even though they’re opposite in a lot of ways, they complimented one another very well. They get along, they have fun together, and I was rooting for them to turn into something more than friends or bed buddies.
This story flows perfectly. I had it read within a few days and had a huge book hangover (something I’m accustomed to when it comes to Helena’s books). This book had a good balance of humor (there were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments), hot moments, and romance elements. I loved the characters, including the secondary ones. It was easy to adore the world Helena created with Shacking Up, so I’m thrilled that she’s continued to give us stories set in that world and including those characters.
Five stars to this novel!
Well, color me disappointed. I have loved, loved, LOVED the Shacking Up series. The books have charmed me, entertained me, and made me double over with laughter. While Making Up is entertaining, when compared to the other books, it doesn’t quite measure up.
You’ve got an 11-year age gap between Griffin, a billionaire hotel magnate, and Cosy, a college student who works in a sex toy store. Let that sink in for a minute. I’m all for age gaps, but wouldn’t Griffin’s friends and family question Cosy’s motives in dating him? Maybe it’s just me. Nonetheless, I enjoyed their flirty chemistry and the fun times they share, even though I didn’t always believe in the strength of their connection.
I really didn’t have a strong attachment to anyone. Hilariously zany females have been a huge appeal of the series for me, but we aren’t introduced to any standout characters here. Cosy’s sister is just plain annoying. She is superficial and thoughtless. So yeah, I pretty much hated her. I liked Cosy. There’s just nothing remarkable about her other than the fact that she is really young, wears inappropriate clothing, and is a sweet carefree girl that happens to sell dildos for a living. Griffin comes across as bumbling and clueless, albeit very charming.
A romantic comedy should make the reader laugh and swoon, so I guess I expected the writing to be funnier. There is some predictable drama, but the story is cute and honestly not that bad. It’s simply not great. I have a feeling I might have liked Making Up more if I hadn’t read the other books in the series.

It was a sweet, sassy, and an emotional read. I have enjoyed all the books in this series and this one is no exception. I definitely recommend this book, this series, and this author.

What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas…
Making Up is book 4 in the Shacking Up series and I can’t quite pin my feelings about this book. I definitely enjoyed it, it made for a rather sweet read, but it was more of an OK read for me.
Who knew that you could meet your soulmate in an adult shop, it definitely makes for a memorable story. In Vegas might I add, just another juicy detail to add into their story.
Overall, I liked both characters and I didn’t mind their age gap at all. Even though Cosy seemed to have a bit of an issue with it since she constantly brought it up. I’d say her age truly showed in this book. She was always finding these reasons to pin against Griffin albeit easily won her over every time. I wasn’t completely on board with her reactions towards things.
I wasn’t sure what to make of Griffin’s awkwardness, it was a little bit adorable, but when it comes to Hunting’s heroes, I wasn’t exactly used to it. Plus he’s more reserved and sensitive, which is so different than his brothers.
I think I could have done without the drama that happens between them, but it didn’t hinder me from truly enjoying this read. Out of all the Helena Hunting books I’ve read, it’s not my favorite, but still worth the read!
So many funny and rather adorable moments, can’t wait to read the next one!
**I RECEIVED A COMPLIMENTARY READER’S COPY FROM ST. MARTIN’S PRESS IN CONSIDERATION FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. **
I can always count on Helena for a sassy heroine and laugh out loud read. Every book is funny and unique!
Very, very funny and very, very hot
Book 4 in the Shacking Up series, this has been a favorite series from the start (though I somehow missed book 3 *runs off to 1-click). While there are some mentions of earlier characters and events, and some slight crossover, you don’t need to have read the previous books in the series to enjoy this.
An opposites attract kind of story, Cosy is a poor college student working at an adult toy shop to pay the bills—and yes, the setup is pretty funny, but there’s far more to the story than that. With a little bit of wanderlust, Cosy has taken time off from college occasionally to travel wherever the winds take her, and though she may be young, she’s more of a grown-up when it counts than a lot of people I know. At more than a decade older, Griffin comes from money, and is a Harvard grad. He’s settled into his job working in his family’s business, and rarely does anything without a plan, though thanks to an ex, he has his moments of vulnerability when it comes to women. He’s only in Vegas for a few months working on a project, she’s only there finishing up her degree and than who knows where she may be. Figuring out how these two are going to be together added tension to the story and helped keep me turning those pages.
I liked that Griffin is in his thirties and that they take their time getting together. Be warned, when they do get together, it’s all kinds of hot, whew! I also really liked that when there were bumps in the relationship (and some of them were pretty surprising), Cosy reacted but then took her time to think things through. Her reactions to the events themselves made sense to me, and it also made sense that she’d be careful and cautious after getting hurt, even when what happened wasn’t intentional or Griffin’s fault.
While the story has many funny moments, it never passed that invisible line of too over the top for me, and the author did a nice job balancing out the humor with a little angst and plenty of heat. While most of the story revolves around Cosy and Griffin, there are a few secondary characters around, including Cosy’s sister, Nevah. I wasn’t quite sure about Nev at first—she’s not a character I have much in common with—but her heart is in the right place, and by the end, I was intrigued enough to hope she eventually gets her own hea.
Very, very funny and very, very hot, with a little heartbreak to keep the balance, this was a fast, engaging read for me, and a great addition to the series. 5 stars

This is an age gap romance that will leave you swooning!
I laughed and laughed and laughed some more! The humor in this book was fantastic! The quirkiness and sarcasm were exactly what I love in a story. Aside from that I loved the story and how everything flowed. There were a few different points that left me gasping with wide eyes because I couldn’t believe what was happening! Shock value 100% I really loved these characters and I loved these character together even more! They may have had a big gap in age but these two complimented each other so well. They taught each other things that would have never happened otherwise. Cosy helped Giffen loosen up a little bit and Giffen helped Cosy to reach her goals. If you want a book that will make you laugh, and swoon, and be utterly floored when some stuff goes down..this is the book you! 5 big stars for this one!
I absolutely loved it!!
I was completely engrossed by the story. Griffin and Cosy were perfect for each other, their chemistry is undeniable, and their attraction is off the charts. Their journey is all too consuming, sweet, hilarious, heartfelt, romantic and much more.
The storyline is terrific, great plot, and to top it off, all the characters are amazing, funny and believable. Helena Hunting once more, delivers a sexy, sweet, funny and cute installment in the fabulous, hilarious, and delightful Shaking Up series!
I highly recommend this, or any book in the series!!
Aww… what a fun, cute read! I really liked it! I absolutely loved Griffin’s character. I enjoyed watching him go from the ego-bruised, insecure guy, to the confident, alpha male. He and Cozy heated up the pages with their chemistry! Their story is the perfect story to get lost in and enjoy a bit of time away from reality.
I have adored all of the Mills men and their stories. The Shacking Up world is definitely one to dive in to. Like the others, Making Up will leave your heart full and a smile on your face.
