**”**Narrators Muffy Newtown and Jacob Morgan will make listeners blush and laugh their way through this Las Vegas-based romantic comedy in which the sin extends beyond the city…Newtown is great at emphasizing character individuality and sneaking humor into her delivery. A new standalone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy by New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting.
Cosy Felton is great at her job—she knows just how to handle the awkwardness that comes with working at an adult toy store. So when the hottest guy she’s ever seen walks into the shop looking completely overwhelmed, she’s more than happy to turn on the charm and help him purchase all of the items on his list.
Griffin Mills is using his business trip in Las Vegas as a chance to escape the broken pieces of his life in New York City. The last thing he wants is to be put in charge of buying gag gifts for his friend’s bachelor party. Despite being totally out of his element, and mortified by the whole experience, Griffin is pleasantly surprised when he finds himself attracted to the sales girl that helped him.
As skeptical as Cosy may be of Griffin’s motivations, there’s something about him that intrigues her. But sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas and when real life gets in the way, all bets are off. Filled with hilariously awkward situations and enough sexual chemistry to power Sin City, Making Up is the next standalone in the Shacking Up world.

Why have I not read the earlier books in this series? Definitely going to have to change that.
Shacking Up was a good read. The plot was enjoyable and there was lots of chemistry. An Age-Gap romance where most of the time I felt the heroine was was mature beyond her years, matching her well with her older man, nothing pervy about it.
I just wanted more.
Griffin and Cosy story takes the Shacking Up series up a notch. Helena Hunting as always delivers a story full of humor and romance, with amazing characters. Cosy is in college and works at a sex toy shop, Griffin is set to buy things at the sex shop, they meet and now opposites attract in a hilarious way. Prepare yourself on a journey you won’t want to end, it’s an emotional road with humor and love you will enjoy this summer.
I really enjoyed Cosy (with an s not a z) and Griffin’s story! It was funny, romantic, entertaining and full of heart.
Cosy works in an adult toy story and manages to separate her 2 personalities. She has her ‘confident, able to sell all the adult toys to anyone’ personality which exudes the confidence required. Then she has her “real” personality full of awkwardness and obvious inexperience in life.
When super sexy Griffin enters as he drew the short straw to buy the gag gifts for a bachelor party, Cosy is immediately intrigued by his own awkwardness at being there!
However the two of them do experience a mutual interest in one another and Griffin starts his stalker mode!! I loved the banter and Chemistry between them both & also loved the age-gap too.
But when Griffin’s past comes back with a bang can he convince Cosy that he’s still the man for her!
Very enjoyable story which I read from start to finish!

With an age gap to deal with and an unusual occupation for the heroine, Making Up was a fun, easy read that had humor, heart, and heat and had two great characters that deserved to find their happily ever after.
I liked both Griffin and Cosy and thought they were perfect for each other despite the age difference and where they were in their lives. There was definite chemistry between them right from the start, and once they finally get involved these two had some serious heat between them. I did think there was a bit too much drama between them and really didn’t like the issue that involved Cosy’s sister, but I did think that the characters easily moved past some of the issues without causing an angst overload, so I was still routing for their HEA all the way through.
I haven’t read Helena Hunting before and really liked her writing style and found this book very easy to read. I liked the secondary characters and am curious now to go back and read the other books in this series – Griffin’s family seems quite interesting and I’m sure there are some great stories there!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book I received from the publisher via NetGalley.
For the most part (and I mean almost all of it) this story was fun. I would have preferred Cosy to be a little more mature or maybe not as OTT at a lot of points in the story but honestly, that’s a very minor point compared to the rest of the greatness this story has to offer. It emphasized the decade difference in their age, which is not a bad thing, it just annoyed me LOL but again, I am fully on the side of this story was fun!!
Griffin and Cosy are different. No, more like complete opposites, in just about every aspect of life. As the story unfolds, you experience that they may be opposites, but they are two puzzle pieces that fit just right!! Everything that makes them opposites is what makes them so right. The heart and humor of this story blend incredibly well. Nothing about the story is overly dramatic or even out of the realm of possibility. It is fiction at its best. It was sexy and emotional when it needed to be. I had a great time reading these two and it reminded me how much I enjoy this author and I need to get back to reading her work more often! Well done!
I am fast becoming a fan of Helena Hunting’s books, mainly because her characters are usually just a tad off the stereotypes often found in the genre. I liked both Cosy and Griffin for a few reasons. First, ya gotta love a gal who works in a sex toy shop (a great way to open). Second, I liked that Griffin was not the usual uptight billionaire dude who was all about work – he was open and playful pretty much from the start. I appreciated that it wasn’t a total 180-degree character change for either. I enjoyed their story and recommend this book. Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press (Swerve), and the author for a complimentary, pre-release digital ARC of this book.
Making Up was just an okay read for me. I really wanted to love this book like I have the others in this series, but the age gap of these two characters was too much for me. There are some laughs, but I never felt the connection between the characters that I expected. I even skimmed a few pages, and I have never done that with a book this author has written before. Of course we can’t love every story that an author writes, and I will grab her next book.
Another fantastic story written by Helena Hunting.
Griffin is in Vegas on business when he walks into an adult toy store to buy gag gifts for a bachelor party. What he doesn’t expect to find is the quirky young woman he can’t get put of his head.
Cosy gets blind sided by the handsome guy who comes into the store she is currently working at. Going against her rules she starts dating a customer.
But life throws twist and turns at them so Cosy does what she has always done. Packs up for an adventure and leaves. But what she didn’t expect was it to hurt so much to leave Griffin. Even after the shocking news she witnessed.
‘Making up’ is the fourth installment of Helena Hunting’s Shacking Up world. All the books can be read as standalones but I highly recommend you guys to read them all 🙂 Just like the whole series, Cosy and Griffin’s story was hilarious, sweet and steamy.
Griffin Mills is visiting Las Vegas for business. After getting dumped by his fiancé, this trip is something he welcomes. However, thanks to his luck, he picks the short straw and now needs to shop for his friend’s bachelor party favors. Since this is really out of character task for Griffin, he expects the mortification and awkwardness of the task; the think he doesn’t expect is to meet the attractive sales associate, who is helping him. While attending college, Cosy works for Sex Toy Warehouse. She is a free spirit. She is vibrant, mature, responsible and outspoken. Cosy and Griffin’s attraction to one another is obvious, but due to the location of their first meeting, Cosy is reluctant to accept Griffin’s dinner invitation. Griffin is the oldest Mills brother and with being the oldest comes to the responsibility. He was always good with numbers and due to his job in the Mills Hotels he constantly travels. His traveling cost him his fiancé but this doesn’t cause him to lose his desire for love and relationship. He is loyal, logical, responsible and really possessive. At first he is trying convince himself not to start anything with Cosy, since he is in his thirties and she is still a college student. However, he cannot stop himself to get caught up to Cosy’s charm. The banter between them was really entertaining. Their relationship wasn’t all sunshine, thanks to Griffin’s drama causing ex-fiancé, our couple struggles a bit.
‘Making up’ was a delightful read and I couldn’t be able to put it down until I was done with it. Next book of the series is ‘Handle with Care’ and it will be released on August 27th. If you are looking for a sweet, sexy and funny story, this book is just for you 🙂
Would I recommend this book: Yes.
Would I re-read this book: Yes.
Would I read future books by this author: Yes.

Helena Harper posted the first chapter of this book before the release and I devoured it! I loved every second and I laughed my bum off. I knew from that moment that this was a book that I HAD to read.
This story really drew me in. The plot is fun and well balanced. The story has the perfect combination of humor, emotion, passion, and drama. It really does round out all the bases. The plot is so compelling that you won’t want to put the book down on your lunch break so you can head back to work. (Or at least I didn’t, ha!) I liked the unexpected twists in the story and the overall way that things landed by the end.
I instantly felt a connection to these characters. Both main characters, Cosy and Griffin, were awesome. I loved how Cosy was always unapologetically herself. She didn’t let Griffin’s money intimidate her into being someone different. She still clung to her goals and beliefs even when things didn’t go as planned. I liked Griffin’s growth in the story. It was easy to sympathize with Griffin once all of the facts are presented.
The romance was hot. There was an eleven-year age gap between them which caused them both to be hesitant. But what starts off as a casual arrangement soon turns into much more between them. I actually liked that it was the guy and not the girl that was so adamant about cementing something more serious and permanent in their relationship. I loved Griffin’s commitment and devotion to Cosy. Though sometimes Griffin had a possessive vibe going on, it was never aggressive. They really had incredible chemistry and the love scenes were sweltering.
Overall, I was locked onto this book from beginning to end. I loved every moment of this story. These characters are ones that I won’t soon forget. This is my first book in the Shacking Up series, but I can’t wait to read the others! I have a feeling that these Mills boys are going to get my blood pumping. I definitely recommend this book!
5 FANTABULOUS STARS!!!
Helena Hunting has a way of writing a book that will leave you in stitches one second, ready to claw someone’s eyes out in the next, and ready to lay a beat down on some deserving soul. In Making Up we get Griffin and Cosy’s story.
Griffin always the stoic serious one meets his match in laid back Cosy. The way they meet had me giggling, her personality shown through and reeled him in. I just love how unconventional it was. He is very work and goal oriented. She loosens him up and he shows her that just because he may or may not be a stalker he will do just about anything for her. The chemistry between the two of them is hot, and could possibly melt your kindle. I love how the two of them compliment each other even if they are from two different worlds.
Now don’t get me wrong their story will have you laughing throughout it, but man did they have a lot of crap thrown at them. Ok not necessarily them, but Griffin… I will say Cosy dealt with it a lot more mature than I would have.
Making Up is a sweet and funny rom-com that I truly enjoyed. The chemistry between Cosy and Griffin was electric and their witty banter were amusing. I loved their slightly awkward yet hilarious meet cute. With their age difference and different socioeconomic background, the couple couldn’t be more opposing but somehow their similar vision and dream made them perfect for each other. The little bit of drama towards the end added a little angst to their otherwise dreamy relationship. The blissfully happy epilogue made my day. I didn’t know that this charming story is part of a series and I would surely go back to read the other Mills brothers’ stories.
It’s Vegas, baby!
Gah, this series just keeps getting better and better. I LOVED Griffin and Cosy! Their witty banter and crazy chemistry definitely makes them one of my favorite Helena Hunting couples. These two just really melted my heart (and other things, at times. ) I loved watching them come to realize that in all of their differences, they were very much alike and could rely on each other. HH knows how to put the swoon-factor in her book boyfriends and Griffin is no exception. The supporting characters, as in all HH books, were a great addition the story. This thing was jam-packed with tons of heart, heat, and so many belly laughs (I mean, the book starts out in an adult toy store, so what would you expect?)
Although this is book four in the Shacking Up series, it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. I’ve completely fallen in love with these characters and highly recommend the whole series.
You know a book is going to be hilarious when it open in a sex toy shop and Making Up definitely did not disappoint!!
I have been a huge fan of Helena Hunting since I discovered the Pucked series in early 2016. There’s only 2 books of hers that I haven’t read and they’re at the very top of my TBR. HH writes rom-coms like no other but she also can write angst and when she blends the two, it’s like *mind blown*.
Griffin and Cosy’s story was so funny!! Age gap isn’t usually my jam but I thought this book was everything!!! The connection between these two was pretty instant considering their weird first meeting: her working at a sex toy shop, him buying a bunch of weird stuff for a bachelor party. I snort laughed my way through this entire book but there was definitely some angst that balanced this story perfectly.
Even though Making Up is the 4th book in the Shacking Up series, I definitely think it can be read as a standalone but you need Bane, Lex, and Pierce in your life. If you’ve read the first three books in this series then you know that Armstrong is the actual worst. Making Up made me hate him even more and wish that he would just fall off the face of the Earth. He has to get his comeuppance sooner or late but I’d really like it to be sooner. Fingers crossed it happens in Handle with Care!!!
Cosy works in an adult toy store. She meets Griffin while he’s shopping for a friend’s bachelor party. The two have chemistry from the start with hilarious situations. This is a feel good romantic comedy that will have you sighing and laughing at the same time. Cosy and Griffin are the cutest couple ever!
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
Making up was just so so so good!! Helena Hunting never fails to impress me with her storytelling. I love Griffin and Cosy and they are one of my favourite couple of hers. Needless to say that Griffin made it to my book boyfriend list.
Griffin, newly single, was not looking for love or a relationship, however when he meets Cosy he is intrigued and drawn to her.
Cosy is a quirky, funny and Independant young girl who strives to live her life to the full, carpediem should be her motto!
She travels a lot and doesn’t do relationships.
Griffin is ten years older than Cosy but their relationship is full of surprises and so so endearing!
The way Griffin reacts when he sees Cosy wearing her short shorts made me LOL and I could so picture it!!
Nev, Cosy’s sister was also a great secondary character and I hope she’ll get her story!
What happens when you have a casual “relationship” and suddenly it became more? What happens when you realise that the guy you’ve been dating for months is a billionaire?
Well go and grab it! It’s a great read that will Male you swoon and put a smile on your face .
So a hot guy walks into an adult toy store
An amazing, emotional, funny, heartbreaking, soul rejuvenating, cry in a corner, laugh out loud , punch someone in the face, find your true love, road tripping, story.
5 Stars.
I recommend this book to everyone
Making Up by Helena Hunting is book four in her Shaking Up series. Every book is about another couple and while interconnected, they easily can be read as standalones. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The previous books are Shacking Up; Hooking Up and I Flipping Love You.
Making Up is Cosy and Griffin’s story. Cosy is a sassy 22 year old college student who’ working in , lets call it retail. A nd when 33 year old heir to an empire Griffin Mills meets her, he’s a goner, hook, line and sinker. He’s helpless in all things Cosy.
Making Up is a beautifully thought out, beautifully told and beautifully written story, a perfect rom/com. I loved meeting characters from previous books and the story gave me all the feels. Making Up is the perfect summer read, 4,5 stars.
This one started out funny and clever, I mean who doesn’t think awkward convos in a sex shop hilarious?
As Griffin and Cosy started knowing each other we saw sparks fly. It was fun read for the most part and yeah Griffin was hot af.
I found it awkward how the characters made the age gap a big deal. It really wasn’t honestly. Same with the sister/ex fiancé deal, I saw that coming from the beginning and the reactions from all parties was just not appealing.
It’s a solid 4 star read, easy to read and follow along, some sparks and fun banter.
3.5 stars
Helena Hunting’s signature style of the super awkward meet cute continues in Making Up. It’s an adorable story of awkward beginnings and love that doesn’t end.
I giggled so hard when these two meet in the adult toy store and swooned even harder as Griffin tried to win over Cosy. For me, it was a little too drama filled as it seemed they couldn’t get through one thing without another cropping up but I still enjoyed these two characters. I hadn’t read the other books in the series so I’m interested to catch up with the brothers and cousins. Great book full of giggles and awes.
