**”**Narrators Muffy Newtown and Jacob Morgan will make listeners blush and laugh their way through this Las Vegas-based romantic comedy in which the sin extends beyond the city…Newtown is great at emphasizing character individuality and sneaking humor into her delivery. Morgan, with his swoon-inducing, even-toned, perfectly paced voice, is everything listeners want in a hero.” — AudioFile Magazine
A new standalone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy by New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting.
Cosy Felton is great at her job—she knows just how to handle the awkwardness that comes with working at an adult toy store. So when the hottest guy she’s ever seen walks into the shop looking completely overwhelmed, she’s more than happy to turn on the charm and help him purchase all of the items on his list.
Griffin Mills is using his business trip in Las Vegas as a chance to escape the broken pieces of his life in New York City. The last thing he wants is to be put in charge of buying gag gifts for his friend’s bachelor party. Despite being totally out of his element, and mortified by the whole experience, Griffin is pleasantly surprised when he finds himself attracted to the sales girl that helped him.
As skeptical as Cosy may be of Griffin’s motivations, there’s something about him that intrigues her. But sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas and when real life gets in the way, all bets are off. Filled with hilariously awkward situations and enough sexual chemistry to power Sin City, Making Up is the next standalone in the Shacking Up world.

Let me just start by saying any Helena Hunting book is always, ALWAYS worth reading because this woman always delivers with her writing and never fails to impress.
Now, review time.
Griffin is sexy and charming although a bit reserved. He comes from money but doesn’t like to flaunt it especially around the woman who catches his eye.
Cosy is awesome. She’s young, beautiful and sassy and just so much fun to read about. She’s the kind of girl you want as your best friend because she knows how to have a laugh.
Their first meeting was legit my favourite meeting of all time. No other will ever beat this one, it was the greatest.
From their first meet you can tell these two are the perfect match. The chemistry is off the charts hot and oh my god it’s fantastic. Watching their relationship develop is entirely fascinating. You’re rooting for them from the get go and everything in between just hits you straight in the feels.
I absolutely adore this series and I actually think Griffin May be my favourite brother.
Helena Hunting blessed us with a captivating story and a romance that’ll sink it’s claws Into you. It’s fun and angsty and easy to read, you won’t ever want to stop.
This is most definitely one of my top reads of 2019.

Age, money …
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH COSY & GRIFFIM?
WILL THERE BE A HAPPILY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!
ADORABLE!
Another cute and funny and sparky and sexy romance in this amazing series!
I adored Cosy and Griff. They just belong together. But he’s so much older – both don’t really want anything serious – plus he’s so effing rich and she’s the total opppsite. Too much trouble or woth it? We sure hope so.
I really loved reading it…. but I was a tiny bit dissppointed too. I expected something so much funnier! And I didn’t love the thing that happens … but of course we have a happy end .. so all’s good.
Maybe it’s just that I’m not the biggest age-gap fan.
But it was still a really cute romance!!!
MAKING UP was an adorable age gap romace!!!! Funny, sweet, sexy! I LOVED it! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Griffin – this one is MINE!!!!
5 star Review Making Up (Shaking Up #4) by Helena Hunting
I loved being back in the Shaking Up world with the latest release from Helena Hunting.
An embarrassing meeting between Cosy Felton and Griffin Mills starts them both on a journey that will open their eyes. Griffin is suckered into purchasing the gag gifts for his friend’s bachelor party he is relieved when sales assistant Cosy takes pity on him and helps him out.
Griffin is trying to get his life back on track and is attracted to Cosy.
Ms. Hunting wove a story that drew me in and held me captivated. The camaraderie, banter and friendship that Cosy and Griffin had made this a joy to read and I really was cheering for these two to get their happily ever after.
The chemistry between them was intense and you could feel the sizzle in the air. I love Ms. Hunting’s style of writing, she ensures that her characters are “real”. I found the characters easy to relate to particularly Cosy and Griffin.
There was just something about them and the awkward situations that came up throughout this book that had me smiling like a loon.
Making Up is a story that had me entertained from the first to the last chapter.
I received an ARC of this book through the publisher via Netgalley
Full disclosure, I almost didn’t read this book. Almost. For as much as I absolutely loved the rest of the series, the last book fell flat so I was hesitant, but it was worth every minute. If nothing else, Griffin and Imogen were a constant so seeing the name Cosy was a surprise and I had to know more. I’m so glad curiosity won out because these two were adorable.
Griffin was with his ex for a long time but it ended badly, so he’s pretty scarred. He’s out of his element as a single guy and doesn’t really know how to act. Now he wants to ask out a store clerk, who just happens to work at the sex toy shop where he drops a ton of cash for a bachelor party. Cosy assumes the bachelor party is just a line and Griffin is a huge freak, so she’s not exactly jumping at the invitation, plus she doesn’t date customers, but he eventually wins her over.
There are complications because of his job and Griffin is really self-conscious of the age gap but they work through all that because they’re perfect together. Things are fantastic . . . until they’re not. It’s like the world is conspiring against them with one drama after another. First her sister interferes, then his ex resurfaces and everything blows up. All this drama should be way over the top but it’s not because I really liked Cosy and Griffin, so I was invested in this relationship. This was a sweet story and I enjoyed it very much.
I went between 3 and 4 stars for this book so I decided on 3.5. This book follows Griffin, brother of Lex from book 2 in the series. This is an age gap story with Griffin being 10 years or so older than Cosy. I don’t usually mind age gap stories as long as the maturity levels are at least similar. But my goodness, the constant drama was exhausting. She’s constantly accusing him of something. I also didn’t particularly like the supporting cast-I liked seeing Lex and Lincoln but otherwise, I wasn’t a huge fan of his sister, Neve. It also wasn’t as funny as Helena Hunting’s usual books which was a little disappointing.
I listened to the audiobook though and with Muffy Newtown and Jacob Morgan narrating, it was a fun auditory experience. These two did such a good job bringing the story to life.
Helena Hunting + raunchy and humorous age gap story?! UHM YES PLEASE. From the memorable meet cute to the distry talking to the swoony moments, I was hooked on this story from start to finish.
An alpha, occasionally mercurial business man Griffin meets sassy and free spirited Cosy, who just so happens to be working her way through school thanks to her job as a sex toy store. Griffin just wants some gag gifts- SUUUUURE- and the suited up hunk of man most certainly needs Cosy’s expertise, right? Helena has such a distinct sense of humor- the perfect nexus of debased filthy and witty cleverness. We have a lot of lusty heat between these two thanks to their sordid Vegas beginnings- but these two opposites, separated by more than age, evolve into something far more substantial after their highly humorous and deliciously awkward first encounter and all the fun banter that ensues after. And loads of angsty drama as the past makes its way to their present.
I loved these two together. THE MOUTH ON THIS MAN. Griffin is just delicious. As always, the characters are vivid and unique- Helena has such a way with creating relatable, accessible characters that are just at the right balance of senasalized and familiar. And our story is infused with the perfect marriage of her trademark humor and perfectly calculated drama. But the chemistry is what soars here- my goodness are these two magnetic together. Volcanic!
Why did I wait so long to catch up on this series- SO yummy!
Oh boy. I absolutely loooooved Griffin! I’ve been a fan of all of the Mills brothers, but I think this awkward, sweet/dirty talking, slightly damaged, sexy alpha is my fave. I loved him and I absolutely adored his relationship with Cosy! I especially loved seeing their lighthearted romance transition into something meaningful and their chemistry was off the charts!!!!
This has all the wonderful things I expect from this author. Its funny, witty, a little awkward at times, and super sexy. I love a good age gap story and here it’s been done right. Jacob Morgan is amazing as Griffin and Muffy Newtown did a wonderful job with Cosy. Great book.
Loved this story. It was funny to see the awkwardness that comes from working in an adult store in Vegas. Was really rooting for the couple to find there happy ending.
This was an audible for me. It was hard to finish this book and really wanted it to end about a quarter of the way through. I finished it, but really felt like it wasn’t worth the time. Cosy and Griffin have a meet cute, but then that’s about all the chemistry I got from those characters. Griffin was older and he was way more interesting and had more depth to him. Cosy was a decade younger and she annoyed the pure mess outta me. Her personality and interactions with Griffin was a total turn off and I was not able to invest any interest in the outcome of their story. Total disappointment.
*3.5-4 Stars*
I enjoyed this one, but I didn’t love it as much as other books I have read by this author. I wasn’t in love with either of the main characters, though they were likeable enough. It was probably a little bit too long for my liking, but I guess there is quite a lot happening overall in the story as well.
I don’t have much to say, I’m in my best review writing form right now lol. Overall it was a good book, just not a fave of mine.
This is my favourite book of the Shacking up Series! Griff is amazing and Cozy is perfect for him. This sweet man finally discovers what true love really is. And he finally lets loose! Pick it up! You won’t regret it and then you’ll want to read about the other brothers/cousins!
Love all of her books
I loved everything about this book. Cosy and Griffin are priceless souls! They are a perfect match despite many obstacles they just really belong together. Unfortunately perfect chemistry, laughter, and seamlessly getting along can’t keep life from getting in the way. Griffin has his life dumped upside down and Cosy feels the need to escape. Griffin watches the best thing in his life walk away so that he can “do the right thing”. The laugh out loud moments are so often and the swoony romance is off the charts. I love this couple. I love that Bane & Lex come out to play and we get to meet some new fun characters. And how could there be a book in this series without Armstrong in it. Seriously omg!!!
I’ve not been great at sticking with the Shacking Up series. I’ve skipped books and read out of order. I absolutely loved the first book in the series — Shacking Up — and I enjoyed the second — Hooking Up —quite a bit. Unfortunately, I didn’t have as much luck with Making Up. Age gap romances can be tough for me, especially if I don’t see much beyond sexual chemistry for a couple. That was the case with Cosy and Griffin. I liked them together, even if Cosy was a bit much for me at times, but I wondered WHY they were together. They didn’t have much in common and I struggled with them as a couple. That said, this was still a fun, quick and sexy read, even if it’s not a favorite.

“This feels a lot like Pretty Woman, except I’m being paid for my virginity.”
“I promise I won’t be someone you’ll think back on and regret.”
She is minding her own business stocking dirty magazines when sex on two legs walks in looking for some ‘pleasure toys.’ Clearly out of his element, she puts on her sales girl face and helps him get his items with the least amount of embarrassment as possible. Yup…. that’s their meet cute. 🙂 Her characters is fun and care-free. She doesn’t want to settle down. Always looking for her next adventure. He is a wealthy hotel heir who also happens to be a decade older than her. He also happens to have a shy-like attribute about him that you may not expect from someone of his stature, giving him an ever greater appeal. Their age difference along with the difference in their social status’s put a threat on their relationship. That and a little surprise that shatters their world. There is lots of comedy. A couple heartbreaking moments. But alas… a happily ever after. There is a lot of sexual content. Not just in the form of the act, but also due to her working in a sex shop. 😉 This is a primarily happy and upbeat story.. aside from those few instances that cause turmoil. If you’ve read the other books in the series, you will see most of the characters making an appearance or two throughout the book, but this can be read as a stand alone without issues. Suitable for mature readers.
I love the Shacking Up series and this book did not disappoint. We finally get to meet Griffin and find out more about the 3rd Mills brother. Griffin works in the family hotel business and is currently in Las Vegas on business. He is tasked with buying some adult toys for one of his friends bachelor’s party. Griffin pretty much sticks out like a sore thumb when he goes to the adult store and is pretty uncomfortable. In comes Cosy, the sales person for the store and when she spots Griffin she decides to help him get all his supplies by showing him all the products and the differences between each product. I could not stop laughing during this whole shopping scene and the interaction between Griffin and Cosy! Cosy figures she will never see Griffin again and knows that the sale she would make would give her enough commission to pay her bills.
Surprise when Griffin stops back by a few weeks later and asks Cosy out. Cosy is surprised and leery about the situation but decides to go out with Griffin. They start to notice the difference in their lifestyles and Griffin finds out that Cosy is so much younger than he is that he has a hard time with it. But their attraction for each other is undeniable so they start a relationship thinking this is short term since Griffin would be leaving after his project is over.
Cosy shows Griffin how to have fun and be spontaneous. Griffin introduces Cosy to the more expensive things in life while they both enjoy spending time together. When Cosy, who is trying to finish her college degree in hotel management, finds out who Griffin really is, she was surprise that he didn’t tell her and she didn’t figure it out. As they get past this obstacle, Griffin’s past comes back and ruins the developing relationship between them. Griffin must deal with the situation and Cosy decides she needs to move on so she takes an internship on a cruise ship hoping to get over Griffin while she is at it. When Griffin finds out the truth about his ex-fiancee, he does all that he can to track down Cosy to give her the news and wants another chance with her. Introducing Cosy to his family is interesting and Cosy can obviously stand up to the Mills brothers. This was just a fun story and it made me laugh out loud numerous times throughout.
Making Up was another funny Helena read! Cosy and Griffin are a hoot to read about and have quite a bit of drama surrounding them. I really like Griffin, he’s a sweet and considerate guy, but I felt bad for the things that happen to him and the situations he gets put in. I wish it didn’t have to be that way throughout the book. Cosy is highly entertaining! She’s a bit of a wildcard. You don’t really know what she’s going to do or say next. They have an interesting relationship for sure. They have their share of differences as well as similarities. They have so many ups and downs throughout the book, I just wish there was a little more smooth sailing towards the end. I wasn’t a big fan of Cosy’s sister, and found her a little agitating. I did like Lincoln and can’t wait for more of him.
I’ve seen it said in articles before, Helena Hunting is the queen of romcom. Because really, she is. There’s no debate.
Her books are always the perfect mix of charming and sexy, as well as being able to make you laugh out loud and tear up when it pulls at your heartstrings.
Making Up is another hit for Hunting.
Cosy is a sassy and delightful free-spirit with a heart full of wanderlust. Griffin is romantic and born to be in love, and the perfect amount of alpha male without coming across as domineering.
Watching them grow and fall for each other was delicious and entertaining. What I always love about Hunting’s books is that there’s an angst filled conflict that causes Drama™ but she delivers it in a way that’s natural and makes you unable to stop turning pages.
Hunting’s Shacking Up series has quickly become an all-time favourite because each book is unique and has its own voice. They’re so filled with love and characters that steal your heart.
