I fell quickly and deeply in love with Nicholas Moore. He was my prince charming and I was ready for the happily ever after.Only he taught me that fairy tales don’t exist. That love and life can be cruel. He wasn’t the person I thought he was when he kicked me out without warning while pregnant with his child just weeks away from our wedding day.Now he’s back, begging to be forgiven. Regretting his … back, begging to be forgiven. Regretting his actions and words.
He wants a second chance to put our family back together.
I can’t trust him.
I can’t trust him with my heart, even though it stills yearns for him after all these years.
The problem? Our daughter adores him and I would do just about anything to make her happy. Even if that means making the same mistake again.
Do I take the risk of getting another heart broken by the same man or tell him goodbye once and for all?

OMG this book takes forgiveness to the next level. I went in thinking “WHAT?!” how will I ever like Nicholas. He is a “BIG” turd from the beginning. He was so awful to Alannah and I felt spiteful throughout the first part of this book wanting him to get his. How did he redeem himself? He turned into an “AMAZING” father. Adding how hard he had to work for Alannah’s to even tolerate him. She definitely was the bigger person only wanting what is best for her child. The icing on the cake, even though he devastated her, she wasn’t sitting around waiting for him. I LOVE that.
As the story unfolds it becomes obvious that all is not as it seems. Clarity and details are revealed in eye opening ways. Everything about this story drew me in. It felt therapeutic the journey it took me on. The one part that I struggled with is that no one on either side of the families communicated in five years. Yes it was explained but I didn’t buy it completely.
This story overall is marvelous. I definitely would like to read more from this author. Happy Reading Everyone!
I did enjoy this book to a certain point in the book. I liked that Alannah wouldn’t let anyone walk all over her . They had a lot of issues that kept popping up but she made him work for her trust again (which I am not fond of). This is only one of the complaints I had. The story was dry and sort of dragged on for me.
Wowsas! This was most definitely more than I expected from a new to me author. The story is really good. Happy, sad. Angry, heartache, love and pain. Truly every emotion runs through these words.
Nicolas and Alannah were once young and in love, until she gets accused of cheating on him. Hastily he throws her out of their apartment and his life not fully knowing what a big mistake he had made.
5 years pass and they get back in touch. Not that Alannah needed to hear from him.
This sad, crazy, emotional tale will really keep you flipping the pages.
I really enjoyed the book, though some parts were a bit long. It was easy to fall for the characters and feel their emotions.
4/5
Meant to be
Alannah and Nicholas had a fairtytale start to their relationship. The prologue beautifully describes how they met, and their early months together, living in the beautiful Sydney harbour-side penthouse apartment, up until she tells him that she’s pregnant. And that’s where his sweetness ends. And it’s devastating for her.
Fast forward five years, and Alannah is living on the other side of the country in Perth with their daughter Charlotte (Charlie) – and her mum lives close by for support as well. After a couple of medical surprises, Nicholas is finally regretful of his words, and the decision he made those years ago. But will he be able to redeem himself, in order to connect with his young daughter, and her mum? He completely broke her heart, so should she give him another chance to make amends?
My heart breaks for all of the unnecessary hurt and betrayal Alannah encountered at the hands of Nicholas’ selfishness, doubt and mistrust in her love for him. She’s such an incredibly strong woman, that deserves a happily ever after for her and her daughter.
The journey this story takes you on is both heart-breaking and heart-warming. Nick really makes a huge effort to develop a relationship with his daughter, and trying to reconnect with Lana. The countless trips he makes to see them and spend quality time with them is testament to how remorseful he is.
There’s lots of drama, frustration, disappointment, acceptance, adventure, passion and love. The characters are very likeable (most of the time), and the support they have from their family and friends is beautiful. They keep each honest and know where they stand. With all their complexities and imperfections, they’re just perfect for each other.
I read this story (though a little different) in Fan Fiction, and I loved it even more this time around! I would definitely recommend this book. It’ll make you smile, shake your head, sigh, laugh, smirk, blush and cry. It’s emotional and wonderful! I can’t wait to read more of this author’s work!
I received a free ARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Making It Right is the first I have read by this author and I really liked it. A second chance with some angst and emotional moments. I wasn’t sure how Nick would redeem himself. I was glad Alannah made Nick work hard for it! I loved them. Nick and little Charlie were adorable together.
So good! So in the beginning of this story, Nicholas and Alannah are getting ready to get married but Alannah tells Nick something and doesn’t believe her. He tosses her out on the street and never hears from him. So she goes home to her Mom and loves and heals from all the hurt Nick has done. After 5 years he goes to Alannah but all the pain and hurt that he causes comes back and she can’t keep him away. It just isn’t right but they have a lot to talk about. She’s is having a friend with benefits being one thing and Nick doesn’t like it at all. He is so mad and jealous of her, but he knows he can’t say anything it isn’t his place. He wants her back but there is a lot of things that both have to overcome and heal from. Apologize and learn to let go of the past. I’m sad it is all over.
This book has second chances but alannah the main character 5 years prior she’s engaged to Nicholas and she becomes pregnant but he doesn’t believe baby is his he kicks her out. Flash forward he finds her and realizes his mistake but our girl is so dang strong does she forgive him? Will she take him back?
I did enjoy this book up to a point. I liked that Alannah wasn’t a doormat and just fell back into Nick’s arms. They had a lot of issues that kept popping up but she made him work for her trust again. The only complaint I had was that the story seemed to drag here and there but all in all an enjoyable read.
