A READERS’ FAVORITE FINALIST ** SIZZLE CATEGORY **
For almost five years, Alex has had one obsession. Her name is Elynn.
Alex Hanas couldn’t believe that after so many years as a widower, his father was getting remarried. To make matters worse, the American gold digger had a kid—a daughter named Elynn. After months of avoiding it, Alex goes to brunch with every intention of giving his … intention of giving his father’s new family the deep freeze. But he can’t pull it off with Elynn’s anxious green-grey eyes locked on him.
That was the day his life changed.
Four years later, Alex is as close to Elynn as a stepbrother can be. But that’s not enough for him. He wants more…and he’s done waiting.

I liked the characters, but not in the setting they were put in. Alex was an Alpha male intent on getting the woman of his desires. I wish there was more lead in to them going down the romance road and the somewhat often used (too often used) character threat that made Alex move up his game. I love diversity in books but not that way. All that said, I wouldn’t mind reading more from this author.

I loved the way Elynn opened up and became more socially comfortable, and the way Alex softened when they finally met at their family dinner. He started out disturbed and distrustful oh his father’s new wife and daughter, but soon realized that they were a blessing to he and his father.
He patiently waits for Elynn to mature, especially after learning about her history of being stalked and violently beaten. Elynn was a brilliant student and scholar and the quintessential “nerd girl”. But oddly, Alex was sincerely captivated and interested in everything about her. As their friendship grew, Elynn grew to trust Alex.
His women continued to look down on Elynn and treated her poorly, but there’s a bit of snarky backbone in Elynn as she stood up for herself quite nicely.
After mistaking her relationship with her gay friend as being a romantic one, Alex decided that the waiting period was over.
Steamy scenes ensue as their friendly chemistry grew until it erupted as they mutually explored newfound feelings.
A bit of drama with his exes trying to reestablish ties, and with her crazy stalker who has never given up on her.
Well written dual POVs that were easy to follow and insightful.
Very romantic with steamy steamy scenes!!

Unrequited love up to a point…. Alex was not happy when his father decided to remarry. He was even less happy to meet his new stepsister. However, fast forward a few years and his stepsister is not the same as she once was. She has grown out of her awkward stage and is tempting older stepbrother. Elynn is an introvert, focused on fungi and cultivating her mushrooms. She comes across as adorably naïve to the ways of the world. Alex is her polar opposite. He is demanding, exacting and a playboy. However, there is something that draws him to Elynn and he is willing to do anything to keep her safe and protected. Elynn finds it hard to believe that Alex would ever be attracted to her and is utterly surprised when he implicitly states it as fact. Yet there is still something sinister lurking from Elynn’s past that was thought to have been forgotten. Can Alex keep the demons away? How will their parents react to this new situation developing between their respective children?

This was a fantastic read with danger and drama. The attraction that Alex has for Flynn was just so sweet. He waited years for her to grow up and mature enough to be able to have a relationship.
The author really put her foot into this story, such a touching story.
This book is a phenomenal read that EVERY reader will enjoy…

I loved this book! Alex loves Ellyn so much, and realizes it almost immediately after meeting her. He’s a stereotypical alpha male, and so controlling. She’s so young and innocent, and yet eventually finds her voice to keep him from running roughshod over her. Everything he does is done out of love and concern for her safety. It was as terrific story, and the characters were interesting. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I’m looking forward to reading more.

The storyline is nothing really new. The characters are ok but there is nothing surprising and can feel how the action will roll around well in advance

When Alex’s father decides to marry one of their employees from accounting he is livid. He refuses to have anything to do with his new gold digging step-mother and demands that his father has her sign a pre-nuptial agreement. For months he avoids any contact with his father’s wife and her child, a rather chubby young girl. When he finally consents to a family brunch he discovers that his opinions of Elynn were flawed and he wants to know her better and that makes his like a bit of a perv after all she is only seventeen and add to add to that she is recovering from a huge trauma thanks to a stalker. Five years later Elynn is about to graduate college and when he mistakes a scene he witnesses with one of her best friends he decides he needs to make his move before another man swoops in and takes what’s his.
As a rule, I am not a big fan of these so called taboo books about step siblings, because it is not really a taboo since there is NO blood relation to connect them, except to maybe the anal retentive morons of the world. That being said, the blurb was rather vague but still managed to pull me in so here we are with a book that starts out very sweet and turns steamy about half way through. I really like Elynn’s character, there author did a great job of sticking to after effects of the trauma that she suffered and how it defined Elynn’s life. What I didn’t like was how they mentioned her stalker but that he was fleeting until the end, I wish he been more of a threat throughout the story because through the whole story the stalker was more of a peripheral cause not an ongoing issue until he came out of left field. In other words, if he was a continuing threat then perhaps his part should have been bigger than phone calls and flowers.
