(Second-chance romance, forbidden love, older brother’s best friend)
A promise written on a coaster.
A lost night in a dark room.
Grayson Bennett was my brother’s best friend.
He was all of my firsts.
Then he went away…
Drew Harris was just a kid, a senior in high school, my best friend’s little sister.
They said she was too young to know her feelings.
I was too old to have them, so I left to … know her feelings.
I was too old to have them, so I left to join the military.
Four years passed.
Loss, injury, angry words I can never take back…
I’m home, but I’m not the same.
Neither is she.
Now she’s a woman with flashing blue eyes, long blonde hair, and gorgeous curves.
Still, she’s the same sweet smile, the same sassy mouth…
I could never say No to her before.
I should for her sake.
She deserves better than what I’ve become, scarred and damaged.
“They told me to stay away from you.
I went away to try… God, I tried.
Now everything has changed. I’m back, and
I’ll do whatever it takes to make you mine…”
(A full-length, STAND-ALONE CONTEMPORARY romance about first love, redemption, and finding your way home. No cheating; No cliffhangers.)

Another new author to me and again one I will keep reading.
Did not want to put this down.
A promise on a coaster…will he keep it?
Love the characters and the depth of their feelings and the families behind them.
PTSD and war
family and love
friends forever
Was an okay book, dealing with the way a young man can be treated poorly by everyone in town if they think he isn’t up to their standards. Prejudice and bigotry are brought to the front in this story, as well as dealing with PTSD and other emotional problems. The storyline is okay, but it was so slow throughout the book that I began to lose interest. It didn’t hold me as well as I wanted.
“I might be broken, guilty, undeserving of her… it doesn’t change the fact she still owns my heart.”
Ahhhh ~ Tia did it again. I laughed, cried, squirmed, cheered, was frustrated…so many emotions.
“it’s not a sign of weakness to ask for help. It’s a sign of strength.”
This book hits a lot of real life struggles. Families left behind, career struggles, not knowing what you want to do in life, loss, love, self worth internal debates, military lifestyle, addiction, revenge, being ostracized and so much more is packed into this read.
“He has to conquer his own demons. You can’t do it for him.”
Gray and Drew always had a connection but they had to hide it. Gray went to college and than the armed forces. Drew wanted to wait got him. He came back but has PTSD. Can they get over the issues and just be together. Great characters and storyline. Highly recommended my first book by this author not my last.
Mmh
Just alright, a little juvenile. First and only love separated four years while h is in school and H is in service.
I had a few issues with the timeline and information on serving length of time abroad. I’m not an expert but I do know a bit about ROTC, assignments after college and length of time. Do a little research next time.
Grayson and Drew was a beautiful story about young love that went wrong and all the heartbreak it took to find their love again. I loved reading this book and my heart broke for both Grayson and Drew as they maneuvered from children to adults and the trauma they both dealt with. Drew is a remarkable woman dealing with all the heartache she has had to deal with from childhood to present but she survives. Grayson has his own tragedies and while he thinks he isn’t worthy of Drew’s love he finds he really is and his broken heart and soul is mended by her love.
Loved this book and highly recommend it.
Torryn and Lucas were best friends until he picked up and left they both secretly harbored feelings for one another. Lucas was sort of a nerd and was good at hacking he grew up without his mother and had an alcoholic father.
Torryn’s life was pretty good with both parents so when he left without telling her Torryn was heartbroken and six years later she goes on a job interview and whom does she interview with, him and it infuriates her, should she decline the job, or should she take it and get her revenge on the heartbreak.
What was the real reason for Luca’s immediate departure? Will Torryn’s plan of revenge work? Or will this couple live happily ever after. I voluntarily received an arc copy through Booksprout for my honest review.
Anger, sadness, love, lust…a small Southern Carolina town sets the scene for this swoon worthy, epic romance. Andrea “Drew” Harris is not a damsel in distress nor does she live up to the expectations placed on her. She’s independent and utterly in love with Grayson “Gray” Cole. Gray’s background makes him a less than desirable option for Drew – according to everyone in town. But everyone sees that the love between Drew and Gray is steadfast and wins in the end.
Gray and Drew’s love story pulled my heart in so many directions. An emotional roller coaster that ended beautifully. I’m not a spoiler type of girl so all I can say is that you will feel every emotion possible, including anger. I hated when I had to put the book down. I highly recommend this book and maybe a tissue or two.
My heart breaks for Grayson poor guy. I love how he takes to Billy . Billy is adorable. I also love how Drew always stuck up for Grayson. Ruby is Hysterical and I love her mom. Carl what a douche wow like you just gave up. Drew between Darlene and Hunter Im surprised shes sane. lol I hate Leslie just trash.
Grayson Cole came to live with his uncle at a young age lived in a small town all his life but still considered an outsider and NOT good enough for Carl Harris daughter Andrea (Drew) Harris. Danny Harris is his best friend. As much as he tried to stay away from his best friends sister Grayson just couldn’t do it. When GRayson and Danny get shipped away and Danny finds out about his sis and his best friend. The fight and words you wish you could take back
Andrea aka Drew has been in love with Grayson since he saved her from a snake. He saved her when her mom died. Its her turn to now save Grayson from from everyone who ever said hes not good enough. Even if it means losing the family member left alive.
When Grayson comes back from Marines hes not sure if he can face the whole town and the one girl he promised to come back too.
“Grayson Coles eyes will stop your heart, but his lips will get it going again.”
“I miss how gentle you can be. I missed how rough you can be.”
“You’re a man now. You’re ready to tell my daddy you dont give a shit what he thinks.”
“What? No panties in church? Bless me father, for I have sinned!.”
“Sometimes I imagine you as Forrest Gump yelling Yes, DRILL SERGEANT!!!”
“Its my turn to sit with you. I want to be there for you.”
“Hes your white stallion. You’re his little Pekingese.”
Where do I begin with this Amazing story. It’s one of best books this year I have read. It has such an emotional storyline and will have you on an emotional roller coaster and need tissues .I am just so blown away from it and I am telling you now if you want a really Amazing book than you must read it. Trust me I love Grey
This book was amazing!! I was so in love with both the heroine and the hero and their tragic but heartwarming story. I cannot wait to read the second book that follows two other characters from this one!
Make You Mine is the first book I have read by Tia Louise and it was awesome. There’s so much emotion flying off each page. One minute I’m laughing, another I’m holding my breath, frustration, and tears welling up in my eyes. Oh, and the heat level of all the sexiness between Gray and Drew is off the charts. So, if you want a great friends to lovers, second chance, best friend’s little sister, military hero suffering from ptsd … All. The. Feels… yeah, grab this book!!!
OH my wow! I absolutely loved Drew and Gray! He’s her brothers best friend, and from the “wrong side of the tracks”, but the heart knows what it wants. Gray goes off to the army with some hope for a future with Drew. There is so much that wants to keep these two apart, watching Drew and Gray work through the hard truths was so worth it. I loved this story!
If there’s ever a book about second chances and coming from the wrong side of the tracks romance, Drew and Graysons love is it. These two start off as friends yet it is how they get along that makes this book worth reading in one sitting. Tia Louise pulls you in every emotion possible from friendship, fear, lust, love to finally a happily ever after you think will never happen. As a best friends love story this one will make you laugh, cry and just want more between these two.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I don’t like reviews that give spoilers of the book. That being said…….
I absolutely love Grayson and Andrea. Aka Gray and Drew. Their second chance romance was emotional and heart breaking but you have to have all of that in order to get to the good.
Ruby is so funny and the connection she and Drew have is so inspiring. I love how they interacted through out the story.
This book is a small town, brother’s best friend, stuck up old money, second chance romance!
I loved every word and couldn’t put it down.
There is something about a forbidden second-chance romance that gets me all swoony. Add a touch of military and Tia Louise to that equation and I knew I had to read Make You Mine. I liked that Drew and Gray’s story wasn’t your typical punk boy and town princess. It was that story turned on it’s head and I devoured it.
Pain. Regret. Guilt. Fear. Longing. Both Drew and Gray cycled through those emotions on a daily basis as they yearned for something they thought they couldn’t have. A future together.
I loved that Drew wouldn’t take no for an answer. She wanted her man and she was going to get him back. Even when he pushed at near every turn. I admired her tenacity and grace. The way she dealt with not only her own pain but Gray’s and her father’s as well. She had so much on her shoulders and could’ve easily let it harden her but she didn’t. It took a lot of perseverance and some persuasion of the sexy kind but she wore Gray down and from there, there was no going back.
As with any book from Tia Louise, there are some serious real-life issues that get tackled in the pages among the romance. It wasn’t an easy road for Gray and Drew but the fight they battled made their happiness that much sweeter. And that ending, can you say karma? It was perfect and left me with a big smile on my face.
I was captivated by this addictive story right from the beginning. Brother’s best friend romances are one of my favorites and this one delivers all the feels. The chemistry between Gray and Drew is electric; their attraction magnetic. Try as they may to resist that magnetic pull they are powerless to stop the fall. They’ve known each other since childhood and watching these two fall in love is magical. They share a deep and unbreakable connection that weathers every storm life throws their way. How they fight for one another is beautifully breathtaking. The storyline is very well-written and flowed seamlessly. I loved the humor interlaced throughout. The characters are well-developed and relatable. The dialogue had me swooning, crying and laughing. I could feel every emotion the characters experienced. So many scenes simply stole my breath. This story is emotional, sweet, inspirational, incredibly sexy, and breathtakingly romantic. This is one book you want to read!
Wow- did I love this story! My heart broke for Gray and Drew as they worked through their feeling and issues and found a way to be together. He’s her brother best friend. She’s 4 years younger than him. They have always felt a connection. When they do get together in her late teen’s, he goes off with the army.
They stay connected until tragedy strikes. Then feelings on top of history and loss draw them apart. Tia Louise creates such a wonderful heartfelt story of 2 people who are meant to be together- and the journey on how they get there.
This book deals with real life issues, small town situations, true friends who really care for each! It is everything wrapped up in this great romance book!
“What I’ve learned is when you find the person who believes in you, hold on to him or her and never let go.”
Everything I’ve come to expect from a T.L. read: intense, emotional, and passionate. Make You Mine will pull you in from page one and keep a hold of your heart as you route for Gray and Drew.
