He’s a billionaire single dad who needs help.
She’s a sassy single gal who needs work.
Live-in nanny? What could go wrong?
Remington Key: I left the Navy, scored a billion in tech, got married, and had a baby. I did everything by the book. Happily ever after, right?
Fast-forward four years, and I’m alone, raising my daughter, caring for my mother-in-law, and trying to keep my stuff together. How … mother-in-law, and trying to keep my stuff together. How did this happen?
I was clearly drunk the night I offered a gorgeous girl in a bar $500 a day to be my live-in nanny. Or maybe it was my dick talking.
So what if I’ve been alone since forever? I’m focused on launching my new business, not bedding the sexy siren who sleeps down the hall.
At least that’s what I keep reminding myself…
Ruby Banks: Remington Key is distant, brooding, and ridiculously sexy. And when he scoops up his adorable four-year-old daughter Lillie and blows raspberries on her tummy while she squeals with delight, my ovaries literally explode.
Bumping into him at our local pub that night slightly drunk and overly frustrated was a total accident. He needed help, and it was the Christian thing to help a man in need. Right?
Only, Remington Key does not make me feel very Christ-like… No matter how committed I am to being a responsible employee.

I like nanny/single dad stories when they are handled with care and there’s not an unbalance of power between the nanny and her boss. I like the slow burning and growth of love between the couple, combined with a precious child or more, who delight us readers with their antics.
In this case, I didn’t love the story because the couple meet and fall in lust with each other, before entering into any contractual negotiation. From the outset, you already know how it will turn out and it felt slightly sleazy. I also found the plot pretty simplistic, without the many layers that make it interesting and angsty.
Ruby was a very artistic girl with a father who was a famous surgeon. Of course, he didn’t approve of her artistic talent and she was forced to get a “useful degree”. She’s a licensed therapist but can’t pay her bills because she doesn’t get clients. Her heart is not in her job. When she was offered the job as nanny with a very generous salary, she accepted immediately, planning to use the money for a second career, more to her liking.
Remington has a precious four year old girl, is a widow, and lives with his mother-in-law, who is snobbish, health-food fanatic and intolerant harridan. He wants to care for his little girl without interference from his mother-in-law who is rigid and only cares about appearances. When Ruby arrives to take care of little Lillie, she falls in love with the adorable little girl, and they get along spectacularly well. Lillie is happy with Ruby because they speak the same language re movies and music and she’s very attentive to Lillie’s needs.
There are a lot of problems in paradise, mostly from the mother-in-law who doesn’t accept Ruby’s position in the house, the other mothers in the exclusive school, and the gossip train in the little town. There’s also some racism, since Ruby is half-Korean. Pretty soon, gossip is strife and Ruby is getting the bad rap in the situation.
As I said, the couple already started being in lust, and although there is a little bit of reluctance in making an approach, both have little control. Getting it on with a child in the house and acting very strongly in lust just felt a little sleazy to me. I liked both characters but I didn’t like their actions. It would have been a lovely story if it hadn’t started so hot so soon.
Love at first sight. Cute story. We meet the main characters: Ruby, Remi and Lillie.
Remi is a widower with the cutest original daughter in the world, Lillie. It was love at first sight for me. Loved her antics and the grownup parts were cute too. Ruby is a therapist working with her friend Drew, but Ruby would rather not be psychoanalyzing people. So she meets Remi in a local bar and the rest is HEA with some ups and downs.
Lord I love this book!! Remi has pushed is way into one of my top book boyfriend spots!!! Ruby is one of my favorite female leads, she fun and loving and carefree but has that vulnerability that she keeps hidden under jokes a lot like me. So I connected with her on so many levels. And Lillie oh Lillie was the princess of the entire book she was the little girl who brought all of this story together. And she reminded me of my granddaughter, so full of personality. This is a book that everyone can connect with in some shape, form or fashion. It has a little bit of everything in it and I love books like that. You have moments where you will laugh, you will cry, you will swoon, you will be mad, you will want to hit someone. It’s the perfect ingredients for a masterpiece of a book. And 5 stars just doesn’t cut it and neither does this review. So I will leave you with this … I highly highly recommend this book!!! Tia has done it again with a perfect book!! – By Tina
I absolutely LOVED Remi and Ruby’s story!! I have read it twice now and with each page, they stole my heart a little more. Their love was so heartwarming, real and so swoony! Every word of this story is romance perfection. Great job Tia! You nailed another one!
What is it about single dad stories that tug at your heartstrings so profoundly???
This whole story blew me away! Especially his adorable little girl! I felt like I was a voyeur reading this book to the point I was rather heated under the collar due to the sizzling connection between Ruby and Remi!
Just his name made me think ‘oh my’!
I loved Ruby and her strong personality and the way she made those dear to her happy! She brought light to Remi, she was incredible with his daughter and to say there were a few tears in certain moments well, just read it for yourself!
Such a beautiful heartwarming but also enjoyable read! Cant wait for more of this series!!
There are a lot of billionaire/nanny romances out there but this one is something special. I love this author’s terrific writing and fabulous characters! Oh, Ruby. There’s so much to love about her. She’s compassionate, caring, funny, a little confused but still strong in her convictions and has that wonderful Asian quirkiness. I love that Tia gave us a heroine that’s not the norm but so lovable. And the hero is the bomb. Rem is sexy and smart and such a good dad to little Lillie. And he puts up with his awful mother-in-law. What a trip she is and so mean. He’s finally coming alive again after four years of mourning. Lillie really stole the show. Finally, a realistic child without the brattiness or overly adult behavior in so many stories these days. The relationship is between Ruby and Lillie is so sweet! This was a little bit of a slow build to the sexy times that this author usually gives us but it was right for the story. The anticipation was a killer but when our couple got there it was sizzling. Great read from one of my favorites authors. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC. 4.5 stars
Key to my Heart…
Oh my heart, the feels this story gave me. Single dad that loves and adores his daughter, mark me as having my ovaries explode. This story will have your heart and your panties melting. Remi and Ruby have a chemistry that is sweet, but also off the charts sizzling sexy. What a fantastic combo. It’s a beautiful love story, and I was enchanted with this couple from beginning to end. This is a first read for me by Tia Louise, definitely not my last.
Ohhh, talk about fairytale… This story has cuteness in spades.
Remi gets way more than he bargained for when he hires Ruby as his nanny. If you love cute toddlers, alpha males personality’s, and sassy females this is the book for you.
I loved everything about this book. It’s a beautifully written story, easy to read with the right amount of steam. Overall great read.
Anything Tia Louise writes is gold! Swoony, sexy and addicting! You’ll love this book!
Ruby Banks grew up with a father who was a neurosurgeon who never believed in letting Ruby follow her dreams of becoming an artist but wanted her to college to get a degree. Now she is a licensed therapist who is not happy and not successful but is surviving due to her best friend Drew.
Remington Key had it all with leaving the Navy and making billions of dollars off of an app that he created. But now he is a single father to Lillie and lives with his mother-in-law after his wife died.
When Remington offers Ruby $500 a day to become Lillie’s nanny will he get more than he bargained for and when he finds himself attracted to her will he cross over the line?
This was such a great book from start to finish and I couldn’t put it down!
I loved Ruby and I hated how cruel her father was to her dreams and how he expected Ruby to do things a certain way and perform a certain way. She was not allowed to be herself and that definitely did some damage to her self esteem. I loved her friendship with Drew and she helped her out the best she could.
Remington was definitely in a difficult situation as he needed time to get his work done but he was almost living with a ghost and expected to be a certain way with his mother-in-law living with him and helping raise Lillie.
I loved Lillie right from the beginning and was so happy how she bonded with Ruby over Disney movies and lyrics!
You could tell right from the beginning how much “sexual tension” was between Ruby and Remington and both cared about each other. I loved how Ruby was able to get Remington to spend more time with Lillie without it looking like she was. Ruby truly respected the bond between Lillie and Remington.
Eleanor was a totally different picture and I understood to a certain degree why she did the things she did as she didn’t want to lose her place in Lillie’s life or have her daughter forgotten about but she was cruel at times.
I was happy for New York but very sad for the events after and what happened between Ruby and Remington and how everything went sideways. I hated to hear what Ruby was called by the mean moms!
The end was awesome and I loved what Remington did!! So great!!
I love a great single dad romance and this book had everything I would want in it and more. I loved Ruby’s character and found her so easy to relate to (it was almost scary). She is trying to figure out who she is and what she wants to do with herself. Remington walks into her life and he is the most perfect book boyfriend with single dad swoon.
The build up and chemistry between these two is hot and I loved the dynamic between them. The dealings with their support systems felt so real life and believable. This book left me laughing out loud and my heart so full
Ruby is at a crossroads in her life not sure where her professional and personal life should go. Little does Ruby know that an unexpected opportunity will fall in her lap. Remi has some issues from his past to deal with and thinks that Ruby is just the person to help with that and his little girl.
I was totally drawn to these two characters from the very beginning. I loved how even though they had very different personalities that they meshed very well together. What can I say about little Lillie she was just so cute. Can I just say the chemistry between Remi and Ruby was off the chart!!!
Super sexy single dad romance? Yes, please!
This book is phenomenal!! Gives you all the feels!! Ruby and Remi- amazing together!! And sweet Lillie just adds to the beauty of this book!
I love the moral battle they are fighting themselves. It’s not rushed, they want to do the right thing but they really care for each other, there is kindness and compassion…. so good!! And Lillie is always their priority!!
Ruby wants to be independent- love this line:
“Maybe I do want to be a part of their life, but I want to be independent first. I want to make the choice.” She is so kind with Lillie, I love their relationship!
Remi- he’s broken, loyal, so drawn to Ruby but always is thinking of Lillie!!
It’s sweet, steamy, has great supporting characters, it has amazing little details that fill your heart, full of conflict but it comes out of love. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made my heart whole! Tia Louise did such an amazing job with this book! For sure a top 2019 read for me because I just feel so good at the end of it!! Thank you Tia Louise!!
Another fabulous book by Tia Louise. Love the single father romance. Loved every second. Really enjoyed reading this book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
QUOTE:
His voice is gentle. “You’re not afraid of anything.”
“That’s not true.” I’m terrified of my feelings for him. I’ve dated so many guys, and I’ve never felt this way about any of them. It’s like Remington Key holds my breath in his hands, and it scares me to death.
Make Me Yours was the perfect combination of sweet and sexy. Written with alternating dual POV, Make Me Yours is a single dad romance and it was undeniably entertaining. Something about the way Tia Louise writes a romance just sucks you right into her stories. I am not usually a huge single parent romance fan but sometimes they are done right and that’s the case with Make Me Yours. Tia balanced out the single parent responsibilities with a relationship between Remi and Ruby that was a little taboo—he hires her to be his daughter’s Nanny—and such close contact really allowed the fires to be stoked between Remi and Ruby. The tension between them was delicious and this slow burn romance really sucked me in. Reminiscent of a Disney fairytale, Ruby is swept off her feet by her own personal Prince Charming, and what a beautiful ride this story took us on. The characters were believable and while the book was a quick and easy read, Ruby and Remi had layers to them that unfolded perfectly. I loved watching them come together as a couple and vanquishing their own dragon, in this case Remi’s mother-in-law (from his first marriage). I can’t recommend this book enough!
Quotes:
Here, on the balcony overlooking all of Manhattan, under a sky filled with stars, I’m sure I’ve found something money can’t buy.
My mind drifts to the way she took Lillie’s invitation to play that Disney princess scene last night. Ruby didn’t care who saw her. She didn’t care if it was silly. She only cared about getting to know my little girl and making a friend. Seeing her that way did something more, though. It found a crack in the wall I’d built around my heart. It took all the feelings I’d set aside and stirred them up, twisting them into a new and unexpected emotion. I realized in that moment… I am different.
Ruby is fiercely independent, and she has her own unique style. She’s not a follower. She’s not a member of the herd. She doesn’t seem to want anything from me other than honest work, and she’s amazing with my daughter.
…when I see her, emotion hits me hard in the chest. My feelings for her have grown so strong over the past week and a half. I don’t want her to date Henry. I want her to stay here with me.
.
Fabulous single-dad story! I loved it!
Make Me Yours was a sweet, light and easy to read romance. Ruby is a firecracker with such a big heart and bright head on her shoulders. Remi is an amazing single father who adores his daughter Lillie. It was obvious from their first meeting in Make You Mine that they would be a great match.
What I enjoyed and was a pleasantly surprise was Ruby. She’s quick with a remark but above all she’s an intelligent woman who’s had to sacrifice a lot because of her father and his expectations. Now working for Remi as his daughter’s nanny she showed new sides of her personality. Her friendship with Lillie was so lovely.
Ruby and Remi was terrific too. Trying to push their attraction aside but in the end finally giving in to their needs and feelings.
Remi had a lot to make up for since not being with a woman for five years and Ruby enjoyed every minute of it;)
Ruby’s bestie Drew was the perfect sounding board and support for Ruby and also they had a blast together.
Overall I think my expectations got the better of me but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
3 Dimple Stars
A very sweet and swoony story, single daddy finds himself a nanny who becomes more than that. Such a charming couple, light and fun to read. Remington and Ruby find themselves in a situation none of them were actually looking for. A good loving story for sure.
OMG everything about Make Me Yours is absolutely 100 % amazing from beginning to end. I knew Ruby’s book was going to be good with her sassy personality. And the way Remi was with his sweet little girl, Lillie made my heart skip a few beats. Remi and Ruby’s story is sweet, tender, funny and smoking hot. Lillie was hysterical and the ultimate show stopper!! I highly recommend reading this book.
