Alex was one of the most electric and domineering men I had ever met. I was hooked from the beginning. He was passionate, and captivating, and he wanted me.
For two months.
I couldn’t turn away from our connection. I wanted more, needed more, and I was close to risking everything to stay in his arms. I didn’t realize there were circumstances lurking around the corner ready to tear us apart.
Alex and Mallory’s story starts in this first book of the Stone trilogy. A roller coaster ride of emotions throughout this story and lots of hot and steamy scenes. Can’t wait to see how this all continues!!
Wow. Absolutely wow.
Mallory is a woman that has lost her self confidence. She needs a boost and my does she get it. On a night out with her 2 best friends Alex enters her life and turns it upside down and round again. He shows her a side of herself she didn’t know she had, but she falls hard for him which isn’t great as they only have 2 months together. Alex too has his heart beating like it never has before.
Her friends turn out to be quite rubbish and she has a stalker…sheesh give a girl a break.
The passion, the lust, the sex… Omg the sex, lol, the heartbreak, the terror, gee this book has it all. It’s been a long time since I cried while reading a book but there were a few times this book gripped my heart and the tears rolled. Mallory is so relatable and you just want her to be happy and have her happy ever after.
Just a wonderful book that you struggle to put down when you start.
This is the first of a series of 3. Although the story does not end here, it would be OK to stop here. The next 2, “Make You Mine” and “Make Us More” get progressively worse. The poor grammar and made up words kind of keep you off balance since you’re not sure what the author meant to say – you know, using words that are almost like a real word or a real word that sounds kind of like the word the author meant to use. That was disorienting for me in books 2 and 3 as it got worse & worse. There are lots of typos – waste when waist was intended, eg. Are these books dictated via voice recognition then no one reads, much less proofs them? Anyway, the error that really had me was that much is made in the first book about Alex being the oldest (how a traditional English aristocrat’s first born must marry into a family of similar social standing, giving our heroine no hope of a future with this man she so desperately desires – a trite point to add drama), then in book two, to satisfy a plot twist, Alex is the younger brother. Gave me vertigo. Can you get past this, how can you take the story seriously. The sex scenes were good and the characters in the first book are generally good, except for the at times annoyingly weak-minded heroine with poor self-esteem, but of course she is amazingly beautiful and somehow never in her life had anyone treat her like she was beautiful or smart… Oh sigh. But the first book is 4 stars (IMHO) and the next is a 2 and the last is a mess, maybe 1 star at best… I think we Readers deserve better. There is better out there, for sure.
Loved it. I loved that Mallory stood up for herself and didn’t let stone walk all over her. Stone is one of those Alphas that has you swooning one page and aggravated the next.
The beginning of this series has several things going on that kept me on my toes. Loved Mallory’s journey in love, growth, confidence and self esteem. She had quite the time between her love interest, someone trying to scare or kill her and having back stabbing friends. Not sure I cared for Alex nor do I consider him to be a dominate but will certainly keep going with this series and see where it leads.
