I thought he was abducting me for dark pleasures. Instead, he cooked me breakfast.Harper:I don’t get tangled up with men. I love them and leave them. Always have. I’m a drifter, traveling without any real destination in mind. Until my van gets stuck and a stern, strong cowboy literally puts me over his shoulder. Settling down is starting to look like a good option. But I don’t know how to stop … know how to stop running from my past.
Barrett:
Harper’s like a wild rabbit; running, always running, and I want to catch her and show her she doesn’t need to run no more.
I thought I could change her.
Only, now she’s gone.
Can a wild thing ever stop and settle down?

Make Me Stay(Arizona Heat #2) by Katie Douglas is a great story to read. This is book number two in this great series and I highly recommend this series to all who like a steamy contemporary cowboy romance to read.
AMAZING! A fantastic, well written read. An intense storyline that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and hot chemistry. Plenty of excitement and emotionally heartfelt. A thrilling must read.
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
This was a great series! I loved how we got to see each guy on the Lemon Tree Ranch find their perfect match! I also enjoyed the BDSM aspect of these books! I felt that each scene was organic with the storyline.
Harper starts living on the road while she decides what she wants and what she is looking for. However when she parks in front of Barrett’s ranch that is when she meets Barrett. Barrett wants her to stay and work but not for the reasons he gives her. He feels drawn to her and wants to be able to help her in some way. Sparks fly between them but Harper is wary even with how nice Barrett has been to her. Will whatever Harper is running from catch up to her?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and an entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
Our heroine is a wandering soul. Is our hero enough to make her settle down?
While this is book two in the series, but it stands well as a stand alone. No prior reading required.
I found this to be a delightfully fun read with two interesting and well developed characters and an easy to follow plot. They say opposites attract and there certainly is that dynamic going on here as our couple tries to figure out if they an commit to a relationship. There are issues to resolve and I found myself getting sucked into the story trying to guess which way it will go.
Along the way, we get some very steamy scenes with elements of BDSM and spankings. All very fun and enjoyable. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
Highly recommended.
I received an ARC for review purposes.
Harper is such a fun, quirky character. She has driven a lot of places and picked up some useful skills along the way. Arizona turns out to be the place where there is someone who makes her want to stay. I loved watching these characters fall in love. Another great book in this series!
This was an amazing story! I loved reading about Harper and Barrett. I didn’t want it to end.
Harper has been traveling around the country for a couple of years now. After a late night, she parks in the wrong spot or it may have been the best thing to happen in her life. She meets Barrett after he blocks her in. He is upset because she has blocked the way for him to do his job on the Lemon Tree Ranch. They had a rough start but slowly they start growing closer. Harper gets scared and runs away. Will they be able to find their way back together again?
This is the second book in the series’s but can be read
with out reading the first one.
I found it to be a quick read that had heat to the plot.
It does has a bit of BDSM to it so if this is your genre than
You will enjoy it.

Make Me Stay is the second book in the Arizona Heat series, but reads well as a stand alone. Harper has a wandering soul, but when she’s rudely awoken one morning by a real cowboy, she doesn’t realize her life is about to change. Barrett knows instantly that he doesn’t want Harper to leave, but just as he gets comfortable, will Harper feel content staying?
I really enjoyed this book! There’s such a strong connection between Barrett and Harper and I loved that both felt a little bit broken from their past, but were able to feel when together. Barrett was dominant in the bedroom but had such a caring personality, wanting to provide for Harper, and I loved how much he bonded to her through sensual times and cooking for her. Harper had in mind that she always needed to be running, but my favorite part about her was watching her realize that it’s okay to stay and that she didn’t have to be alone anymore. I wish her backstory had been expanded a little more, though. They both made mistakes, they both had issues from their past that they needed to deal with, but I enjoyed the ending! I’ve been loving this series so far and am definitely looking forward to Clay’s book next!
The premise of the story was interesting enough to pull me in, but after reading it, I found I just didn’t like the whole situation. I’m all for hot sexy times in books, but this was just too much and too weird straight off. Their first time together. Awkward and weird in the middle of nowhere. I was honestly ready to DNF this when I got to that scene but I pushed through to give it a fair chance. It really isn’t a bad story and it’s well written, just not the book for me.
Harper is a free spirit. She’s use to love them and leave them and keep making tracks. She ends up going to sleep in her van and the next morning she’s woken up by someone banging on her window. She finds that someone has blocked her van and he’s going to make her work on the ranch for one day because she caused him some inconvenience while he was checking the cattle. Barrett and Harper have this special connection. They get along really great and Harper finds that she likes staying with Barrett but it also scarring her to death. She doesn’t do long term relationships. Then all of the sudden she’s running. Barrett doesn’t know what he’s done to make Harper leave but he’s trying to find a way to make her stay. Find out how he does that makes her stay! This is book of the Arizona Heat Series by Katie Douglas. I received an ARC of this book for an honest opinion.
So I read the first one in this series and it was a little bit of a miss for me. But this one had a lot more chemistry and believability to it. And I enjoyed that a great deal.
Harper has been traveling America alone. She has no need to find a place to stay or a man to call her own. She enjoys her life and wants to keep it that way. But when she ends up parking in front of the Ranch that Barrett works at and he finds her there, things start getting a little hot.
Barrett has never wanted another woman in his life. His first wife left him with a bad taste in his mouth and he is okay with living alone. But the minute he finds Harper stuck in her car, he finds that he wants Harper in his life. But will they be able to find a common ground to find love?
This is a good addition to this series.

Harper is as free as a bird going from place to place as she sees fit in her little VW van. Till one night, tied from driving she parks unknowly across the entrance to the Ranch.
She is rudely awaken the next morning by a easy on the eyes cvowboy who is demanding that she works on the ranch for one week, not happy with this she tries to back her van up and gets caught in the sand.
Barrett took Harper inside for some bacon and eggs, next thing she was fixing his old truck, then she was over his shoulder he was showing her his ways, ways she really liked. He thought he had got her to stay but then she ran. Can Barrett get Harper to come back and stay for good?
Second book in this series. I have to say this one is my favorite out of the two. Just something about this one. Harper is a traveler. She likes to go and doesn’t like to stay in one place. But then she ends up getting struck at the ranch where Barrett is. Instant chemistry between these two. I absolutely loved the story line and the characters. Just something about Barrett being able to calm Harper so that she doesn’t run. The sex in this one is off the charts hot. Very well written enjoyable book from Katie
I like this series, there’s a lot of love going on, and a lot of tension, which makes the story just perfect. This one overlaps the first book in time, but it’s a standalone, so if you haven’t read the first one, you won’t get lost, but who wants to jump into a series right in the middle?
Harper is always on the run, she’s trying to find something, and she figures that she will find it on the road, somewhere. But then she parks in front of the farm entrance of the Lemon Tree Ranch, and ends up having to deal with Barrett. He wants for her to stay and do a day’s worth of work because she wasted his time, but he has ulterior motives for doing what he’s doing.
I like Barrett. He’s got a good, caring heart, even though he was kind of jerky to begin with. I don’t think that he was a jerk because he’s actually a jerk, I think that he’s a situational jerk. But he’s a good guy otherwise.
Harper is a strong and independent character. I think that she’s afraid of a lot of things, and so she runs. She might not be consciously afraid, but it’s there. And while she’s traveling, trying to find out what she is looking for, it’s going to be hard because she doesn’t know what she’s looking for.
It’s a great story and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
I thought the character development was very good. I was vested in the outcome for each character almost from the very beginning. The plot was intriguing and unique as well as well-executed. The flow of the story was excellent; smooth transitions and voice throughout. The tale grabbed you from the very beginning where you were wondering what was happening and carried you to its very nice conclusion… I will certainly be on the lookout for more from this author.
It’s been a while since I’ve liked a heroine as much as I did Harper. She’s funny, independent, quirky and desperately in need of a firm hand. She gets all that…and other firm things…from Barrett. Another great trip to Lemon Tree Ranch…one click this great read and settle in for some hot cowboy lovin’.
“Make Me Stay” is the second book in the Arizona Heat series and this one is just as HOT as book one. We were introduced to Harper who had commitment issues and kept herself travelling across the nation and Barrett who tended the cattle on the Lemon Tree Ranch. When these two meet there is an instant fire and Katie Douglas has given us a front row seat. Makes me look forward to the next book in this series.
Make Me Stay is a hot, sexy, rom-com! This is a fun read with suprises and some suspence. The chemistry between Barrett and Harper is fantasic and has plenty of tension. This is a wonderful, light and short read. I received an advanced copy and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased, honest review.
